here is the translation dear: O Lord so rich in bounty, so replete with grace, Whose knowledge doth mine inmost heart and soul embrace! At morn, the solace of my soul is none but Thee; The knower of mine ardent goal is none but Thee. The heart that for a moment hath Thy mention known Will seek no balm save longing pain for Thee alone. Withered be the heart that sigheth not for Thee, And better blind the eye that crieth not for Thee! In all mine hours of deepest gloom, O Lord of might, My heart hath Thy remembrance for a shining light. Do, through Thy favour, breathe Thy spirit into me, That what hath never been may thus forever be. Consider not our merit and our worth, O Lord of bounty, but the grace Thou pourest forth. Upon these broken-winged birds whose flight is slow Out of Thy tender mercy newfound wings bestow.
Words can not describe the beauty of this Poem/Prayer by the Master. Thank you for putting it to such beautiful singing and music. I am reduced to tears every time I listen to this.
Hello. I have been looking for a translation of this Mathnavi by Abdul-Baha and as yet I've not found it. There are many poems written by both Baha'u'llah and Abu'l-Baha and some have been translated but many have not. I will continue to search. At the heart of this poem are expressions of absolute love and devotion to God expressed in the most tender and heart felt words.
Thank you so much Mehrdad....I shall await its translation with heart, love, and patience!! Its translation to the language of the soul is enough at this time for me. It is surely soooo beautiful. Allah'u'abha!!
This is a beautiful prayer in the form of Mathnavi poetry revealed by Abdul-Baha when he was in his teens in Baghdad. It ends a tablet by Abdul-Baha that is a commentary on the mystical meanings of an Islamic Hadith "I was a hidden treasure" in answering a question by a high ranking Ottoman, Ali Shawkat Pasha". It has not been formally translated yet. An informal translation of the Tablet and this end piece prayer is made by Dr. Moojan Momen, and published in Baha'i Studies Bulletin 3:4 (Dec. 1985), 4-35. The prayer is a beautiful mystic one and performed beautifully by Sonbol Taefi. Ghasem Bayat. March 2014.
Thank you so much for this explanation. It is so wonderful that I can hear this and yet I have no need for a translation. The spiritual message comes across with such emotion. Such is its mystic qualities.
So grateful for such a beautiful performance of the song and piano! I cry each time when I listen to it! Heals my soul and gives me strength! Thank you million times! 💓
I have been searching for this prayer. Just listened to it three times and can't stop crying. It's so beautiful and it's just what I need. Love you Sonbol khanoom :-)

Everytime I listen to this prayer sung here, it brings tears to my eyes. Thank yu Sonbol for this lovely chant. I have no idea as I am not or understand Farsi, but the spiritual language understands this, and lifts the soul soooo much. Allahuabha!!!!
