The second I saw the title, I knew who would take the top two slots. I was really hoping Jawbreaker and Kakuryu would get on the list and I was not disappointed. I was really wracking my brain trying to figure out who else would be on this list mainly because I wasn’t considering doing multiple iterations of the same character.
I like smart Grimlock over dumb Grimlock, that's how he was in a lot of the Marvel UK comics and he was all the better for it before the dumbed down his speech
@@twistedgaming9185 Sometimes I think that Transformers's issue getting new fans on board is the insistence on trying to build off the previous series while forgetting the core tenet of the franchise: robots are cool, and robots that turn into other things are even cooler.
Fall of Cybertron Grimlock us one of my favourites. Obviously takes a lot of inspiration from the Marvel comics but was one of my introductions to a Post G1 Comedic Grimlock who had every trait of a Decepticon but sided with the Autobots
Do a top 10 of characters you would want or wouldn't mind if they gender flopped. Like swoop and dragstrip work well cause it breaks up their respective teams a bit. So like Groove or blast off would work the same. I think astrotrain could work as a girl, his g1 toy kinda has boobs anyways if you don't cover them with the tail fin.

Lots of ridiculous stuff happens there, like Buzzsaw taking out Omega Supreme. I don't like Grimlock as a jerk, either. I much prefer the G1 cartoon over those comics. Haven't seen Cyberverse yet. Maybe it will be better than I'm expecting it when I get to it on my Transformers marathon. I agree that Beast Wars Megatron is great, but not as good as Dinobot. It was very cool when we found out about the time travel plot and the golden disks from Voyager, and the Ravage showed up, and we saw the Ark! And Megatron spouting verses from the Covenant of Primus haha. Dinobot is one of the best Transformers characters ever, just in general. Such a great character arc and ultimate sacrifice. Man, that episode. Gah!
I'll admit I think megatron probably should have bee #1 for the sole fact that he was the cartoon bad guy, which at the time was almost always a fate to be shallow and lose. Dinobot's role as a side character for most of the series gave him a lot of room to develop, but it's amazing that they managed so much with a character who ultimately had to be the followup to one of the least competent leaders in the Transformers series (G1 megatron).
I always thought the Dinobot clone was the most important part of the characters development. Even with Megatron trying to create a perfect soldier, Dinobot's honor would never allow him to be used like that. I think it felt forced and rushed, but I still think it was important.

I liked the Cyberverse take on Grimlock and Arcee. But I was NOT a fan of the constant insults of Hot Rod in the earlier seasons. RiD15 Grimlock was also a lot of fun.
We'll have to agree to disagree with Swoop. I actually like her Cyberverse character, but it's not the Swoop I know, the gender swap (unnecessary when they can create original female Dinobots like Slash ) being a minor issue. Swoop as I like him makes peace between Dinobot and Autobot while being friends with humans, combining his various profiles with the show because we haven't seen this mediator part in action and I want to. Basically, Cyberverse Swoop is cool but replaces the version of Swoop I really want to see.

You can thank Simon Furman for that. Most of Grimlock's acclaim in the comic book came from his pen (also helps that he is one of Furman's favorites).

Outside of a select few characters I feel you can gender flip most characters in transformers since they're robots at the end of the day.
