👋 *hey there, enjoy this content? consider becoming a channel member:* th-cam.com/channels/HdoOrwo__5kf2qXwdyVdww.htmljoin
*My overall recommendation* would be to choose both an "S Tier" browser for your general, non-personal internet browsing (reading the news, posts, anything you don't log in for basically), and an "A Tier" or possibly "B Tier" browser for less frequent, more personal browsing (like banking, social media, etc.).
This is because Mullvad/Tor Browser don't save cookies, browsing history, or other site data which makes them a bit inconvenient for sites you regularly log in to. Splitting your browsing habits across two browsers gives you the best of both worlds!

It says ultimate browser list but it seems that the only thing in consideration here is privacy and transparency and yes that’s super important, but having features and speed is also important and that was completely overlooked here. This video should be called “the ultimate private browser list”
And just to clarify I don’t know this channel I was just looking for videos about browser comparisons.

There are security settings in most browsers for the paranoid. Granted it's personal preference, in general a more wholistic view is going to result in the best choice for the individual.

It makes me so happy that you gave Google Chrome an F. I've always HATED this browser for so many reasons. I've never been able to figure out why people seemed to love it so much. My favourite browsers have been Firefox (although, that relationship pretty much ended a few years ago; still have it installed and use as a 'backup' now and again for certain things), currently using Brave but just this morning, I started thinking about checking out some other browsers as it's been a few years since I've done any research on what's available. That's how I just found this video. Very thorough and informative; thank you :) I've just downloaded Tor and will be trying it out for awhile to see how we 'get on'. 10:52 Vivaldi isn’t closed source, vastly open source, and the rest is source available. Plus, being open source doesn’t automatically make it a better option, open vs available vs closed source is comes down to a matter of transparency. Treat everything, including open source software as guilty until proven innocent.

    So
As soon as you released the vide, Pale Moon 33.0.0 released.
Pale Moon now has Do Not Track requests, as well as canvas data poisoning, which prevents canvas fingerprinting.
Now for security, yeah sure it is weaker than most, but since it's more obscure, less people will attack it.
Addons are still an issue, because Pale Moon will never support WebExtensions, but since you can use old firefox extensions, it may still end up a bit useful
Performance is probably the best thing it has going for it, because it will run great even on low end computers, and it will also not eat up your RAM and CPU.

As a Librewolf user, I can't really agree with the criticism you levied against it, or the poor rating.
The installer does offer an updater and it can be set to run whenever a user boots. Autoupdates are important, sure, but much more in critical work environments than for single users; all it takes is a bit of self discipline to check for updates once every few days, not the end of the world.
While hardened Firefox does offer similar security benefits, it requires extra steps to modify vanilla Firefox that an end user may be unable or simply unwilling to do; Librewolf comes hardned out of the box.
Lastly, Librewolf is current in regards to codebase. I used to use Watefox but migrated after its debacle. As you yourself mentioned, WF being based on ESR codebases is a massive demerit, despite its long track record.

The easter egg in the Thorium browswer was a lot more amusing to me than concerning (as easter eggs like that should be).
What concerns me about it, was something that also was shown in the XZ utils chain of events.
If that easter egg was a problem to the community, and the community was analyzing source code, as they claim happens; they would have raised the issue within hours of it going up.
If it were simply an attack on the developer, without any true interest in the easter egg; these community checks could possibly still be occurring. However, the XZ utils backdoor was only found by the eyes a very specialized professional developer -- indicating, a second time, that there are no community eyes on these projects.

I use Microsoft Edge because Firefox based browsers are really choppy dragging tabs around, and because it's the only browser I've found that has an option to make the UI bigger in the form of Touch Mode (Only available in Canary and Dev builds for some reason).
I never expected to like Microsoft Edge, but after heavy customization, it's become my daily driver. Except for privacy.
My browser history has been Chrome to Opera GX to Opera to Vivaldi to Floorp to Microsoft Edge.

Can we get a tier list for people who don’t care about privacy over the internet? I know you were upfront about it but most privacy isn’t the only feature people care about, e.g. I like OperaGX because it’s makes it easy to limit the RAM/CPU usage of the browser. I was hoping this video would be more about those sorts of features and not 100% about privacy since I feel like the browser breakdown regarding that is 1. TOR if you know you definitely need guaranteed privacy 2. Anything else. But idk maybe I’m just a normie

Why is Firefox "hardened" marked as a separate browser in tierlists like this? If you have to make such big loopholes under the hood in order for Mozilla's marketing to be true, then that browser does not have good privacy protection. The furry thing was an easter egg which opened up a furry picture if you specifically did a sequence of actions, leftover from when it was a smaller fork. It was a suggestive picture, but no nudity. While potentially in bad taste, it has since been removed.
The “legally questionable pictures” were part of a personal anti-forced-circumcision activism page which were never part of the source code of the browser, but were rather hosted on the repository of the website of thorium instead of on their own private page. Your issue with it (going by your oddly emotional reaction upon bringing it up) has less to do with the browser and more some unknown personal issue you have with it. There was no logical reason to push it lower than mull (funnily enough mull is considered to be the android alternative for librewolf) but you pushing it lower than base firefox? The only reason for that would be a personal bias not based on its quality at all.

@@numcapsscroll Since i commented on this video i've tried many browsers, the one i am using currently is WaterFox with the Simple Tab Groups extension (an essential for most FireFox based browsers tbh), which has been a decent experience so far, i've encountered 0 bugs but it doesn't have automatic tab unloading so it uses A LOT of ram since i open HUNDREDS of tabs at a time. also it has a setting to autohide and show the address bar, bookmark bar, and tab bar on hover, which i really like.
A browser i've been wanting to switch to is Zen browser which is also FireFox based and has the same autohide feature as WaterFox, the browser is quite new so it's probably gonna be buggy sometimes, but the only bug i encountered is that when you turn on compact mode (it lets you enable the autohide feature) and also turn on "automatically expand tabs by default" at the same time, if you push your cursor to the left the tab bar appears and disappears continuously, but that can be easily avoided by just not pushing your cursor to the left extreme on your monitor.
It has tab unloading, and has some of the features that Simple Tab Groups has but built into the browser and faster (it has workspaces but they dont get backed up into a file daily like the Simple Tab Groups extension), the reason i haven't switched completely and have only been using it on and off is that it has a couple features that i would like to understand how to use before switching to it, but that's just me, you can use it like a normal browser.
Chrome got an update which sorts your tabs into groups with AI which i find very convenient but i haven't tested it since it is for people that have an 18+ google account that also live in the USA, if you need chromium then this is the browser you'll get the least bugs on.
If you're looking for my recommendation then it is definitely Zen or maybe if you want a more simple and flawless experience then go with WaterFox, Zen, or basically any FireFox based browser with the with the Simple Tab Groups extension.
This might have a couple of grammatical or punctuation errors or since it took me a while to type all of this out and i cannot be bothered to reread it and correct it multiple times💀

Use one of the S-B tier browsers for your gaming browser, OR take the convenience that comes from edge and co-pilot (this is what I did) that way I can hit the windows key during games and instantly search or instantly use co-pilot to ask a question about the game! I found your sense of judging + evaluating super confusing bro.
    Pretty damn shit list!

imagine putting chrome in F and Arc in D that's terrible tierlist. Arc should be S it's fastest browser and has lot of features. Tor you only consider security but who cares if it's extremly slow and lack of features.

Thorium is faster than Arc, if speed is what u care for.

Im a novice and want an easy to use browser with automatic security updates. I'm confused between going with hardened Firefox using the arkenfox method versus mullvad browser. Which of these if either has automatic security updates?

i noticed this is more about privacy, which i dont care about for the most part.
iv tried a lot of different browsers and funnily enough opera GX gave me the best performance out of all the ones i tried, and with harder running games the CPU limiter comes in clutch, so even though you say its just a "gamer skin" it genuinely felt the best to game with.
Brave on the otherhand boasts its in house ad block, which when i installed, blocked nothing on twitch or youtube and i had to resort to ublock anyways while it provided nothing else to me.

Interesting because brave's ad block for me was always enough, but testing Opera GX right now already makes me feel like I need an extra

@@PPeeDaster i dont use opera gx for its ad block i use it for gaming.
I use like 4 diff ablocks with every browser i use lol
Ill try brave again if opera lets me down at somepoint.

I am surprised Firefox Focus was not mentioned. It is very much a niche browser but very compelling app.

Kiwi is the only browser for android where u can install any extension u want. Unfortunately that sums up its usefulness. I use it to install ruffle extension and play flash games on phone. For anything else it sucks.

Thorium isn't bad, and Chris Titus retracted his response again... The Dev who made thorium has come up with the response, and the stuff you are talking about isn't concerning to the extent you are portraying it to be... Bro just do more research before you come up with some wild opinions. Check for the Chris Titus response video if want to find out.
