The original clean beauty was bareMineral or back in the day it was Bare Escentuals. How I miss the old bareMinerals when Leslie Blodgett was the owner. They use to have the most beautiful boutiques with big crystal chandeliers in all the malls. Jane Iredale really has some nice products.
Super dry skin, cold climate, multiple autoimmune disease gal here and this is the absolute best best best complexion product!! I try other things some days and get upset that I didn’t use Pure Pressed Base because it looks and wear so much bette than anything else!! Also Jane Iredale powder and balm blush and powder bronzer are amazing.
I quit using powder foundation when I turned 50. I moved to Colorado and it’s drier here as well. The combination of being 50 and drier climate made my face look so much older. I’m currently 57. Powder foundation was my favorite. I am so very tempted by the whole Jane Iredale powder foundation combo. I may have to get this. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Unfortunately my finances dont allow for such a splurge (although I'd love to try her products). However, I highly recommend Physicians Formula mineral products, they're talc free. I had purchased specifically Mineral Wear Talc-free Mineral Airbrushing Pressed Powder for its 30 SPF for summertime touchups during the day. Fast forward to about 2 months ago, I was in a rush and just grabbed the compact for "something" on my face to give color and finish. BOY was I pleasantly surprised. The color was perfect, the finish was smooth and yes, air brushed. With blush and a bit concealer underneath for my eyes and mouth area, perfection. I do finish up with a setting spray for longevity. I'm 52, combo oily skin, visible pores. I live in humid Florida and I'm a light medium skin tone. Sadly, that line only comes in 3 shades. Translucent which I had to exchange because it was noticeably light on my skin. I opted for the darkest shade in Beige. That's perfect for me but no darker 😔. I'm sure Jane Iredale comes is a much more varied spectrum. I wanted to share my find in case some if you are on budget and may be my complexion or lighter. 😊
@Lisa J- Thank you for talking so much about the benefits of Jane Iredale makeup! Since watching your channel, I have become a HUGE fan of the mineral powder, finishing spray, and blush!
I have ALWAYS loved powder foundation - even though I'm basically a concealer-and-done kind of person. Wayne Goss was gushing about the Laura Mercier blurring setting powder so I decided to give it a try. While I was at it, I figured - what the heck - and finally made myself a foundation user. Lol. I picked up the LM powder foundation as well. So easy to use. Both powders are super fine, gossamer textured. The right powder foundation is probably much less drying than some liquid foundation/concealer.
I’m 66 and have used the JI Pure Pressed for around 20 years. I find liquid or cream foundations just don’t look as good, they settle into my pores and don’t last as long. I need around 10 hours coverage. I’ve tried other powder foundations and I just don’t like them. Def 2 thumbs up 👍 for JI and extra for Lisa for the routine to make the most of the JI powder foundation
I have been using Jane Iredale power foundation for years over my drmtlgy Universal Tinted SPF for a very natural look. I have mature, combination skin and live in FL. This combination does not settle in my fine lines and wrinkles. I tend to be on the sensitive side with minor rosacea.
This is my only foundation routine! At 59 it’s the absolute best. If you’re thinking about trying this, be sure to add the tinted serum. It just adds a glow that I can’t seem to get with the powder foundation alone. I have tried cream blushes with it but I just don’t like them that much and I can’t even say why. I love using RMS blushes though. They’re a gel to powder formula with that glow you get from cream.
I have been searching for a foundation that looks like skin, I have tried so so many complexion products. After watching your video on Jane Iredale last year I splurged and bought what you recommended and OMG, this is what I've been searching for. I have dry skin and this is my new HG. I am in love with all her products I have tried so far. Thank you so much for your videos and recommendations. It doesn't look like makeup, it looks so natural and pretty.
Ive got to try this!!! I’m a powder foundation 44yr old loving woman with oily skin. Estée Lauder used to be my go to until they changed the formula. Going to get this!
My journey with this foundation has been a roller coaster! I hated it when I first tried it. The formula was beautiful but the neutral color I picked gave me a gray cast. I’ve found that applying it with the primer does help. If I can stand it I put on the rest of my makeup and then use the spray and that is where the magic happens and it really looks absolutely gorgeous!! If I can’t stand the grey cast when I apply it, I use the JI spray after applying the foundation & blush, then the spray, and it’s absolutely magic & turns the foundation into a beautiful perfect color & finish that is gorgeous!! Then I use it again once done applying my full face & again…Magic!!!! I do apply it with the JI brush that’s recommended by JI & that helped turned my hate of the product to love of it! I’m going to try it with the brushes Lisa suggests & see how that goes!!! I’ve been testing it for a couple of weeks & I’m now in love with this foundation!! It last and looks gorgeous all day!!! Side note, the JI serum does not work on my mature skin ( I’m 62 with somewhat dry skin). It makes my skin look & feel very dry & shows all my texture. I’m sending it back. If you try this foundation be patient & for sure get the spray. Without it I’m left with a powdery grey look! But with the JI spray, it absolutely gives the foundation a gorgeous finish!!!❤
I had to come back to this video to thank you! After watching this, I went to the JI website and saw that they had a trial size of the primer, powder foundation and setting/finishing spray. I ordered it and tried it today. I LOVE IT! I am 58 with wrinkles and dry skin and it looks so good! And, they sent me a credit to use for future purchase in the amount of the cost of the trial size products. Such a great company. The box came elegantly packed with lavender sprigs, such a nice touch. I can't wait to try more of her products. Thank you again for the recommendation. Never heard of JI before hearing from you.
I will soon turn 60 and have very dry skin. I've been using Jane's powder foundation for almost one year. There is nothing else like it. It gives beautiful coverage that looks very natural. Hydrating before using the powder foundation is key. I love the hydrating setting spray. Thank you for your videos, Lisa.
You did it! You wore me down. I’ve heard you talk about this brand forever, but this full face tipped me over the edge. I’m placing my order right now! Thanks, Lisa!
I’ve always loved powder foundation! I need to invest in this (just saw they have a 20% off sale!) Jane Iredale products were used on me by my makeup artist for my wedding in 2006 and it lasted all day and night (no touch ups)! ❤❤❤
I've been using Laura Geller's baked and correct foundation but i just went on the Jane Iredale site and ordered the discovery set to try out a few of her products! It would be a splurge for me, but if it works for me, I'll order the full size refill for my palette!
I absolutely love this foundation. I have dry skin and you’d think it would make me look like the Sahara desert. 😂 But it is so beautiful on my mature, 54 year old skin. I use the Lumi glotion under it. I don’t have any of their other products but plan on getting that setting spray next time they have a sale.
I am oily and have preferred some powder/mineral foundations. After your videos, I purchased the foundation and I just haven't gotten the results I would like. Will give it another go tomorrow and see what I get with trying something more hydrating under it even though I thought I was doing enough for a powder foundation already because I want to really like this!
Hi, Lisa! After watching your Jane Iredale videos for months, I finally placed an order for the powder foundation, bronzer, Pommist spray, Balmy blush and Bellini lipstick. I’ll report back! 💕
Hi sweet Lisa. I think that if your skin is properly prepped, and moisturized, powder foundation shouldn't be an issue, and I have dry skin. I personally won't use any makeup with talc. It's a very cheap and not a great ingredient. Also, a hydrating setting spray will also help. Yes! I always mix and match powder and cream or liquid products. Jane Iredale's products are fabulous for women of all ages, and skin types!❤❤
Great demo! I just ordered the Jane Iredale skincare system that includes the powder foundation. I can’t wait to try it and share my thoughts. Thank you, again, for being such a wonderful teacher!
I've been wearing Jane's Pure Pressed foundation for over 20 years, after being introduced to the brand through a medical office. I just need to moisturize thoroughly, now that I am older. I love your eyeshadow in this tutorial. Would you mind sharing the products used?
No one ever talks about Nude by Nature powder foundation (Australian) but it is absolutely lovely!! Completely natural with a touch of radiance and no talc either
I’ve been using the Laura Geller powder foundation I’m in my early 60’s I really like it, I’ll have to try J I one! I’ve purchased other products from them before and always liked them! ❤
I like the laura geller too-- i discovered if i use a damp brush, i get a little more coverage. I use it mostly in the summer when i don't want a heavy product on my face.
I’ve always loved powder foundation! Now that at my skin is dry I need to invest in this one. Jane Iredale products were used by my makeup artist on me for my wedding in 2006! ❤❤❤❤
The whole makeup looked beautiful on you Lisa, I’m so skeptical about purchasing powder foundation from past experiences with different brands that did just about everything you mentioned in your video about the myths…You look lovely 🥰 even without makeup. Much Love from Janelle xoxo 🩷🩷🫶🏻🫶🏻🌻🌻
I love doing the serum look when I’m not heading out and using either the pure pressed or the loose mineral base. I love both and can actually not mess it up. Lol Thanks,Lisa
You've definitely convinced me that this is a fanstastic product for skin as fabulous as yours, but what about more highly textured and creased mature skin? My skin is mature, but also oily, and I've discovered that it can look cakey way too easily with emphasis on my 'joy lines'.
Imin my mid 50s but still have oily skin. For a long time Bareminerals or JI was all I could wear. Sunscreens still make me look greasy, and powder is great for this. FYI the Lys blushes in triangle work great over powder.
Love the look! Used Bare Essentials for many years. Question: what is the best way to clean and maintain quality brushes like BK??? Frequency? Too much? Staining?
Looks great Lisa. I do like powder foundation too and I always try to really hydrate my face first. I definitely think it helps. I'd like to try this one!
The “adhesion” to the skin is the word and effect you were referring to. Thank you for the application tips. Is the colour selection forgiving or is it necessary to swatch? Does the powder oxidize? Does it sit well over any sunscreen? Can you tell I’m dying to try this? 😂 Thank you Lisa
I know you are a Jane partner, and I have Jane as well. But I also use It Celebration, and I was wondering if you would do a tutorial on that. I know you did the IT CC powder tutorial before, but that product is so much more powdery and dry than the Celebration. But I'd take an updated tutorial on that, too. The IT probably isn't something I'd wear on a super hot or active day, but I still like the finish.
I have yet to find a powder foundation that cooperates with my mature combo oily skin. Yes, they exaggerate my fine lines on my dry perimeter and get cakey on my oily pores /t zone . I prefer light and minimal layers of any base product. So i dont use primers or set with more powder. I think the word is "adhesion "😊
Thank you for this, Lisa. I've really wanted to get back into powder foundation, especially as a time saver. I do have a few questions: (1) cc/concealer. I had always heard that with powder foundation, you should do that part first and then go in with the powder. Is that not true or does it depend on the texture of the products under the eyes? (2) I have combo skin that leans a bit oily because, like you, i live in the South where humidity is always 95% or higher. I usually have to set my face with a bulletproof powder, like the one from Huda. How does setting the face work when you are using a powder foundation? Is just setting spray really enough? (3) Lastly, how does the Pommist spray compare to a glycerin heavy spray like Mac Fix+? Does it really lock in the makeup or is it more to "melt" the powder to return that natural look back to the skin? Please help! Love you, Lisa!! ❤❤❤
Hi Smitha, love this makeup tutorial....can u plz make a vid on easy, simple but trendy bridal hair-do??? I really dont like junky heavy hair-dos which local beauticians in India offers.
I have always preferred loose powder foundation to pressed powder. Is the process the same for applying this? Or maybe pressed powder foundation is better for aging skin?
Lisa, I’ve been influenced! I ordered the serum and foundation while watching your video but wonder about your foundation shade. My 1st impulse was to order Light Beige but given you had Golden Glow I opted instead for Natural. I think my complexion is darker than yours - I wonder why you chose Golden Glow. Love your channel.
I actually love a powder foundation. I bought many liquids and I’m at the point where I wish I wouldn’t have 😆. I can not seem to figure out concealer so I feel as though I’ve made myself look older trying to. Honestly Laura Geller balance and brighten was my go to so I’d love to try Jane’s powder foundation. My wallet says after all these sales and Nikki’s brushes coming back in stock I will have to wait a minute but it’s definitely on my list of next things to purchase. My angie’s concealer brush and Nikki’s N14 and N16 should be arriving tmrw. They’re my last hope in this concealer madness. I’ve got the prism libre #2 and the huda cherry pie and just about every concealer under the sun from drug store to high end so fingers crossed I find the right combo. 🤞
Same here!! Always on the hunt for a great concealer...never ending and I need to accept that when you have wrinkles, dark circles and bags...nothing looks great.
I was fortunate to attend a Jane Iredale Masterclass with Shawn & he told us to do about 10 sprays of the Pommist or whatever mist you are using & it makes a huge difference. Just curious about your shade choice on the Hydropure being #2? I would have thought it would be #3? I tried #3 as I am Natural in the PurePressed but did not care for it. I am wondering if I might do better with #2.
Lisa, I have oily mature skin and always end up with super shiny skin when I use this, even when I top it with the matte powder and the non-hydrating setting spray. Any tips? Thanks!
Love Jane Iredale pressed foundation and blushes. I also love the Alastin (thanks to you!), but the price jump has chased me away. I would love you to find a true dupe that is not $75.00. I am in the process of trying Cerave (ingredients almost identical), but not loving it as much. Help!
Hmmmm. The reason I like powder foundation is because it’s easy to apply without using your fingers. Easy for on the go. If you have to use a serum foundation first, powder foundations seems completely pointless. What am I missing?
Psst... The word you were looking for was "adhesion", not "adhersion". Isn't the English language wonderfully complicated, LOL! But I've got your back.
Great demo. I am 70 and it’s my fav foundation. That Balmy shade of blush is so perfect for you. Great lippie shade too.
I was wondering how it worked on more mature skin. Thanks for posting.
Super dry skin, cold climate, multiple autoimmune disease gal here and this is the absolute best best best complexion product!! I try other things some days and get upset that I didn’t use Pure Pressed Base because it looks and wear so much bette than anything else!! Even Laura Geller with a small amount of talc is gorgeous on the skin!!

@Lisa J- Thank you for talking so much about the benefits of Jane Iredale makeup! Since watching your channel, I have become a HUGE fan of the mineral powder, finishing spray, and blush!
Loreal also makes an amazing powder foundation… prep before for hydration and you are good to go if you cannot afford the Jane Iredale one.
I have ALWAYS loved powder foundation - even though I'm basically a concealer-and-done kind of person.

Love all of the Jane Iredale products! Its the only powder foundation that I've consistently used and purchased!

Because of you, I've been using Jane Iredale products and LOVE them! Especially the tinted serum and mineral foundation and pommist!!
Great demo! I just ordered the Jane Iredale skincare system that includes the powder foundation. I can’t wait to try it and share my thoughts. Thank you, again, for being such a wonderful teacher!
I bought the Jane Iredale powder foundation during a recent sale. I’ve mainly been using it for touch ups.
Thanks for this video! You totally influenced me to try the JI powder foundation!! Excited!!😊

Love this foundation thanks to you, definitely going to try with a fluffier brush for a more med coverage. Great video!
It's so good! Thanks for watching and sharing 💖
Wow! This looks great! I’m also super impressed with the cream cheek color over the powder!
This is such a great tutorial and inspiration! I would like to copy your eyeshadow for my daughter’s wedding! Please share a quick product list. ❤

My favorite powder foundation is the Bellapierre one. It has a satin finish that I like. Quite an underrated powder in my opinion.
Love the look! Used Bare Essentials for many years. Question: what is the best way to clean and maintain quality brushes like BK??? Frequency? Too much? Staining?
What about the Nikki LaRose multitasker brush? What kind of coverage will that obrush help you get?
Perfect Skin Lisa, thanks for sharing
Looks great Lisa. I do like powder foundation too and I always try to really hydrate my face first. I definitely think it helps. I'd like to try this one!
Your make-up looks so beautiful Lisa!❤ Thank you so much for sharing this video. I am very concerned when it comes to using this type of makeup.
How does Jane Iredale compare to the Makeup Forever powder foundation?
The “adhesion” to the skin is the word and effect you were referring to. Thank you for the application tips. Is the colour selection forgiving or is it necessary to swatch? Does the powder oxidize? Does it sit well over any sunscreen? Can you tell I’m dying to try this? 😂 Thank you Lisa
Love your post and you. Gorgeous without foundation. Going to try all
I know you are a Jane partner, and I have Jane as well. But I also use It Celebration, and I was wondering if you would do a tutorial on that. I know you did the IT CC powder tutorial before, but that product is so much more powdery and dry than the Celebration. But I'd take an updated tutorial on that, too. I have yet to find a powder foundation that cooperates with my mature combo oily skin. Yes, they exaggerate my fine lines on my dry perimeter and get cakey on my oily pores /t zone . Jane Iredale is the best!
Thank you for this, Lisa. I've really wanted to get back into powder foundation, especially as a time saver. I do have a few questions:
(1) cc/concealer.
I'm 67 and I love powder foundation. I think where some people go wrong is putting too much on.
Is the tinted serum and setting spray ok for oily skin?
I have always preferred loose powder foundation to pressed powder. Is the process the same for applying this? Or maybe pressed powder foundation is better for aging skin?
I bought this foundation, the primer and setting spray, I haven’t used it yet I want to know if I put my sunscreen on before or after the primer.

Same here!! Always on the hunt for a great concealer...never ending and I need to accept that when you have wrinkles, dark circles and bags...nothing looks great.
I Find Laura Geller Baked & Brighting Does The Same Thing...But Cheaper...And Color Matching Was Way Easier.
Did I miss where you moisturized your forehead?
I was fortunate to attend a Jane Iredale Masterclass with Shawn & he told us to do about 10 sprays of the Pommist or whatever mist you are using & it makes a huge difference. Just curious about your shade choice on the Hydropure being #2? I would have thought it would be #3? I tried #3 as I am Natural in the PurePressed but did not care for it. I am wondering if I might do better with #2.
JI products are awesome for mature, sensitive & acne prone skin. What shade nail polish are you wearing?
Thanks for sharing, Sherry! I didn't catch the name of the nail polish. I need to get better at that :)
looks really good = always wonder about powder
So beautiful. I’m a JI girl thanks to you!
Great video. Thank you for going step by step.
Lisa, I have oily mature skin and always end up with super shiny skin when I use this, even when I top it with the matte powder and the non-hydrating setting spray. Any tips? Thanks!
Does the powder oxidize like the liquid foundations? Just curious. Thanks.
Thank you, Lisa.
Love Jane Iredale pressed foundation and blushes. I also love the Alastin (thanks to you!), but the price jump has chased me away. I would love you to find a true dupe that is not $75.00. I am in the process of trying Cerave (ingredients almost identical), but not loving it as much. Help!
Loved this video
I love all my Jane Iredale products except the redness corrector…does not blend out well and feels very drying.
Whick BK Beauty brush did you use with the Balmy blush?
I already got and I like it
Do they sell Jane Iredale in any stores?
Hi wear do I buy this product?
The reason I love a powder foundation is the ease of application. Using a brush defeats the purpose of the powder for me.
sooo...if you dont have jane iredale kind of money, what are good options?
I've been using Laura Geller powder foundation and love it. Buy from her website as they often have sales.
I've used Neutrogena one for as long as it's been out. I apply with a brush.
Thku Lisa👍
adhesion!!
$58.00 for the tinted serum??? Sweet baby Jesus!
Unfortunately, you lost the concept of a powder foundation application by applying a liquid foundation first.
