I 💜 this song and has been a long time since I've heard it. It's one of the first and favorite songs by Amy Grant I've listened to in the 80s. That's why I decided to become a born again Christian. Thanks for sharing this again. This is how I want people to remember me.
Praise the Lord. When I was in my mother's womb 39 years ago Holy Spirit whispered to her that I would have my Father's eyes. Not only the physical likeness of my natural father's eyes but more importantly the eyes of my Heavenly Father. At this point in my life I can see with His eyes, why I had to endure some tough things in my 39 years. I see how the experiences I had in my youth solidified who I am in Him and equally how the pit and hell I had to go through later in life was for a purpose to prepare to see the hurt and pain others go through and relate... So that I can bring them the magnificent restoring love of Jesus. Dear one... You are HIS. You were made for so much more than this world can offer. The Creator of the Universe loves YOU. He calls you His own and He wants to restore you. Call on the name of Jesus today and be set free. His eyes are upon you, not in judgment but in absolute love. He wants to hold you like a small child that needs to be held by their caretaker. He is not an angry God or Father. He is not like your father. He is the ONLY good Father and He loves and chose you before the beginning of time. You are loved.
I used to sing this song as a prayer to God when I was little. My dad left when I was three. My mom always told me, "You may not have an earthly father but God is your Father." I've held tightly to that statement and know it to be true. I'm almost 42, and my life has not been easy. God has been my strength and hearing this song reminds me of what God has given me. His eyes to see people as he sees them, with Love, Grace and Mercy. God always offers forgiveness we just need to ask and receive it. 💓
