    Is that like the shock treatment

    • @VansWorld
      @VansWorld  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No... The pool had 25 pounds of shock added to it before I flocked it... Flocking is like a magnet and the cloudiness attracts its self to it to form clumps. Its weird how it works... All pool clarifier works like flock.. A clarifier will attract the tiny particles that keeps the pool from being crystal clear.. Great question.. Thanks for asking.. Sorry my answer was so long

      Argie dan shock you can buy at any pool or generic retailer. That, you’ll dump into a bucket of water, stir real good so it all dissolves, then add it to the pool around the perimeter.

    I used floc last night, and it has been over 18 hours that I have not been running the pump. The water is mostly a cloudy blue with pockets of whitish scum on the surface. Some Flocs allow you to add them to the perimeter of the pool - with the PUMP Off - if YOU don't have a recirculation setting. BUT, you DEFINITELY NEED to be able to vacuum-to-waste.

    We have a 33,000 gallon pool and it’s super cloudy and we are having the Worst time getting it clear. It really blue but so o cloudy! We used flocculant two times already and it didn’t do anything! Not even the things that came floating on the top of your pool right after you put it in. We used a 32oz bottle on our pool. Did we not use enough? We’re so stressing out this year!

    • @VansWorld
      @VansWorld  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah you used plenty. If it was me, here is what I’d do. First, when is the last time your sand was changed? If it’s been more than 3 years, id change the sand. Then I would run my filter 24/7 and brush the walls and bottom every day till it clears up. Keep an eye on the ph. If the PH gets too high then it will turn the water cloudy almost instantly. Like a 7.9 ph or higher will have the water starting to turn cloudy. If your using test strips, stop and get a liquid test kit. It’s way more accurate. Plus the digital PH meter I used in some of my videos is a time saver. Super accurate. And fast. They don’t cost much. Like around $20 on Amazon. There should be. Link in the video description for the ph meter I reviewed. And just for piece of mind, take a fresh sample of pool water to your local pool store and have them check it. I hope this helps. Got any more questions please feel free to ask.

      My biggest advice is take a water sample to your local pool store. That’s what I do. I am lucky we have 2 great pool stores in my town that doesn’t try to sell stuff I don’t need. And they teach me a lot by asking questions.

    • @TheJimmyjam1958
      @TheJimmyjam1958 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vans World Thanks for the reply. Ive added more floc and water is still that cloudy blue. I to have a couple of pool shops I get my water tested at and both say the water is in great shape so Im lost at what to do other than keep filtering and backwashing and see if it clears up.

      @MarieHurley-xb8xy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheJimmyjam1958 I'm not a pool expert just a frustrated pool owner with a similar problem as you. The floc worked for us but you have to turn off your filter for at least 48 hours to let it work (you know it's working if the dead stuff rises up and floats on the surface then eventually drops to the floor). You also don't want that crap going back through your filter so you need to manually vacuum to "waste" (on our filter we had to use the "drain" setting), had to add back water to the pool to replace what went down the driveway, re-started the pump and ran it continuously and then added 5 gallons of shock on 1st night, and another 5 gallons shock on 2nd night, then finally the pool looked clear again and we could resume normal operations.

    My pool is cloudy because of thin dust... when it's stopped between days, the thin dust can be seen in some parts of the bottom and (appart from that) the water is clear, but once the pump starts filtering, the dust comes to the surface as gets mixed with all the watter, which ten becomes cloudy. I did everything and it simply doesn't disappear: corrected ph and alcalinity, put flocculant, filtered the pool for more than 24 hours, etc, but it simply doesn't go away. It's also impossible to vaccum: it's very thin, so everytime the motion of the vacum has the same effect (thin dust ascends and is mixed with all the water). Help! How can I fix this? Many tks!

    • @VansWorld
      @VansWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Sometimes you will have to run your filter for days. Weeks even to get it all out. I don’t have a pool at my new home. But we are planning on getting one in the near future. When we do I am going to invest in a solar pool filter pump and let it run 24/7
