Im fairly certain planes crash all the time due to turbulence its just that its not passenger or private jets. Its probably all smaller aircraft with only the pilots or a couple of passengers. I can't imagine any amount of bad turbulence causing a modern day passenger jet to crash. Could it injure people? Almost definitely because people don't wear their seatbelts. But crash a passenger jet? I don't know.
