I am so happy to See Mr Mahesh Kothare sir on the show… We don’t get to see him much..he was a real stalwart and genius in Marathi film industry 😊And the food as usual looks yummy
Boy, oh boy! This was one of the best episodes I've watched. The foodie angle is a given, as usual, and our host is as excited and hungry too. The atmosphere, as Mr. Vijajakar said, was homely and it did make one emotional when the stories were shared. This is a true family meal that tastes so much better with our loved ones. Exceptionally satisfying (heading for some seafood right away). Thanks to the whole team for sharing this video and to Mr. Vijayakar and his family for making it all the more special. Stay safe everyone.

I am a ex. Mumbaikar at present living in Hyderabad. We used to live in Khar (W). I had a couple of friends who were from the Pathare Prabhu community. I just love their home cooked food. I can now only long for it. Unfortunately I do not think there are any restaurants serving authentic Pathare Prabhu cuisine. Whenever I come to Mumbai I have to make do with the other specialties. My friends are now living abroad, hence, I cannot enjoy their authentic cuisine. Your video has brought back my old memories. I have to just see and reminiscence the good old days.

I enjoyed the conversation among the foody family members of Mahesh Kothare and Kunal Vijaykar. Being an ardent fan of yours and good food I wish there should be a good hotel of genuine Pathare Prabhu or /and ckp and other Maharashtratrian foods .❤ by the way शीरवाळ्ये with coconut juice is served in Konkan Goa area irrespective of religion.

Writing this from California (USA) to let you know how much I enjoy your episodes but this episode is just special for many reasons. First and foremost it is with a legend I grew up watching from childhood DD doordarshan days, The Mahesh Kothare. His humbleness, screen appearance just beyond words. And Secondly this was a "family" episode with many yum dishes. If at all possible, I would love to meet Mahesh Sir in person once. Thank you all for sharing this episode with us.

Kunal it was really an emotional episode... I had the fortune of eating seafood, chicken and omelettes made by Your Mom at Dr. Raja ajobas place a few times...and i still fondly remember Aaji's laughter...it still rings a bell...Dr. Ajoba really deeply missed her till he was there...gem of persons I was fortunate to meet...God Bless them Always...P.S. her omelettes were silky smooth and the mutton nalli was lipsmacking too.

I haven't visited my mamabari , or mamhar as we call it in Bihari, in last two decades and I miss this. So many memories and food during our school vacations as it was our most often visited destination. Oh how i miss my Nana, Nani and Mama.
Now only Mami & two Masis remain, but then they have their life and I have mine- surely a very vacuous existence without relatives and family.
I was a great episode of a family reunion- nostalgic and emotional.
Shiravalya . = noodle. We also make in. Goa. and people from Ratnagiri make rice noodle using wooden mold. eat it with coconut milk or mango pulp.

MAHESH KOTHARE is a legend for our MARATHI INDUSTRY for he is the one who gave us our first ‘CINEMASCOPE,’ movie. His movies were pure entertainers rather than those which people like it today. I would say he was there for me and my generation during our growing up years, today I am 46, so movies like THARTHARAAT and JHAPATLELA were fun his villains TAKLU HAIVAAN, KUBDYA KHAVEES, KAVTYA MAHAKAAL, TATYA VINCHU, PUJARI by RAGHVENDRA KADKOL these villains and their side kicks still tickle our bones .
I never knew or had ever realised how special was MAHESH KOTHARE or INS.MAHESH JADHAV is an integral part of my life. While watching this episode I realised that how this man contributed to my growing up years with ASHOK SARAF and LAKSHMIKANT BERDE. That innocence or foolishness was made to celebrate by this great man. I wish him all the best in his life and great health and prosperity. Thank you and damn it.

@7:23 That's exactly same like Kerala Idiyappam with Coconut Milk and Sugar or Veg Stew or Egg roast. Konkani food is very similar to Kerala Food.

Konkani, Kerala and Bengali food have a lot in common. These three share the trait of cooking non veg without onion garlic with KPs.
Kerala food except kannur or some malabar dishes for fish curry, esp doesn't use onion and garlic only ginger rest all we use small onions garlic ginger according to the recipe
