As an undergraduate pre-PA student, Joel Ciolek realized that his passion and purpose was pursuing ophthalmology as a physician associate. Now Joel is one of less than eighty PAs practicing in ophthalmology and has become a spokesperson and trailblazer for this specialty.
The eyes are said to be the window to the soul and Joel shares his soul, knowledge and experience getting into an ophthalmology practice, staying there and where that journey has led him. We are sharing a no-holds-barred view of our experience with boundaries, burnout and negotiation.
