My second comment on this video...
Sl1p, you will occasionally get raided by mobs. Some of them are really bad hombres. Like, I have seen single attacks wipe out entire buildings with portals... so I have a... suggestion. Keep it at one portal at your base. And build a portal hub by the sacrificial stones. The less time you spend around the portals the less risk they run of being wiped out. And whenever you defeat another boss, or want to swap blessing, you will go to the stones anyways, so you could save yourself a trip.
You can use the cultivator to add grass into flattened areas! :)
Also for leveling floor you have to jump between dig, fill and level, you can eventually get a good level out of it with some work!
This damn game. I am dreaming about it. Waking up in the midst of night, itching to play. Sketching while at work. Scouring the wiki. And then I play... absolutely terrified of the black forrest. Walking 10 paces, 360 look around, walk 10 paces.. was that a sound? Is that a troll? Eikthyr, you ready? Crows?! Troll? Bettee mine some... 3 trolls?!?!?!?!

@@charliebrown3130 I am about 40 hours in, havent beat the elder yet, I am too busy with building and exploring. I have seen people in the plains and swamps... I am in no hurry to go there. The dark forrest, and occasional wolves from the mountains are plenty enough excitement for me as of yet.

@@charliebrown3130 yep. Shield is brought. Though it does little when a log comes swinging, nor does it help as a group of 3-4 wolves come at you at once. Vigilance have been my best bet yet, that... and loads of fire arrows.
@@w0t3rdog true,true, oh and make sure you bring stam pots that'll save you more times then many and if your in the mountains try to get some freezing arrows because ive notice that most of the bosses and creatures are vulnerable to them

first game i ever bought cuz of sl1p was Ark, now I blame you for me getting Valheim too. Its nice you makeme get fun games and entertain me with stuff and things.

You unknowingly said the reason why the wood cutting is the second boss...its because you need so much wood to make charcoal so you can fill the smelter with it. So make a cart, toiw it to some trees, activate the buff and fill that cart with wood!
Hey @Sl1pg8r - Yeah, unfortunately Flooring doesn't count for a roof, putting flooring up won't stop anything from getting wet under it and will only add to your repairs you need to do. ONLY thatched roofing counts (I think until you can build stone buildings). Its a pain but game is early access so I'm hoping they introduce more roof options.

You can use Cultivator to plant grass 😇 you need five bronze
S1ip, you can replace the grass by using the cultivation tool that's made in the forge .
Hey Sl1p! Long time! So, no, the floors don't count as a roof. The ones above your walkway will decay, and once they break your walkway will. What you can do, is use the 26 degree roof caps next to each other to cover the floor yes on top. No, it won't be flat, but the 26 degree caps have a smaller profile. Also, your support beams around your portal will decay as well. It looks like a cool gazebo type thing... So just use the roof corner pieces and make it a gazebo!
Plains is straight up death. Mosquitos that can 2 shot you, little guys that are like ninjas and super fast.. yes death
They used to one shot you if u didnt have proper food buffs
just place slopped roofs, or the peaks ontop of your walkway and leave it the way it is, i think would look alright, and protect everything under it

Hey, you said you wished that back part was more grassy instead of looking weird. the cultivator thing also adds grass back to the ground. Also If you don't want the weird hill in the corner and you want it completely flat, use your pickaxe on the ground to knock it all down, though i'd keep the fence up there so mobs cant just fall into the base.
Building is split into 2 types. Outdoor items and indoor items. outdoor items don't take damage from the elements, like the thatch roofs. Where as indoor, do.
Sl1p I believe the farming tool will re-grass the ground for you. Loving the series, hope it keeps providing content for you.
When you play with others you can share your powers if you stand close to each other. So y’all can have diff powers for when you need them. So you can be using more than 1 buff at a time. Wood cutting, stamina, less damage, wind.....

We dug a trench around the alter. Then built wooden walls around the altar with work bench’s. He spawned and stayed in the hole. And we could just make arrows. When we ran out.

also btw with the axe, if you hit two things at once it splits the damage so isolating a tree would give a better representation of the elder power
it doesn't split the damage it does similar damage to multiple targets, weapons do the same to multiple targets
okay nvm you're right, looks like hitting the ground also affects damage split tho, so i thought i was always doing the same damage with some high damage hits as chance
You can landscape in grass with the cultivator tool
You could build a separate shed for your workshop. It probably isn't too nice inside where you sleep with a blacksmith forge in there, etc.
If you know how to use the hoe correctly it is a great tool. When using the hoe, if you want to flatten an area, hoe a spot, go stand on it and without moving hoe the area around it. The hoe will level to whatever level you are standing on. and to raise it higher, right click while the hoe is equipped and you'll have more options, same with the cultivator, right clicking it will give you more options.
The music almost feels like BOTW! I love it
As someone who knows how much wood you need to make a nice looking village/house/city, The Elder's power is pretty nice for clearing forests.

as per your issues with repairing. i do recall reading on the wiki that the hp of items outside like the ceilings and crafting stations will only decay to 50%.

You are correct in thinking the floors you used as a roof will need thatch roof unfortunately :(
On the land you flattened, where its all dirt... If you use the cultivator then you can bring thr grass back. Also, if you use the queen bee then you can make a bee hive and get some honey

Slip you don't need to grind out every single upgrade to progress, that's why it's taking you so long. I just left my gear at tier 1 and only upgraded every other tier with no issues. Got to end game in a couple days that way. Bonemass is the only boss that's difficult to solo but you can cheese him with frost arrows. That being said, I'm enjoying watching you experiment with everything that I skipped past. I noticed you don't use the stone and wood piles, do you not like the look of them or had you not noticed them yet? They are quite handy for storing your wood/stone and I think they look good. Also you can add grass with the cultivator tool. I hope this info is helpful and not annoying, sorry if it is the latter.
my son and I spent like 1 hour yesterday killing the elder. good fight. i like it is not easy walk in park fight
Well at least you only had an ocean to cross. I had to go across the ocean, through the plains and deal with furlings and deathsquitos. I should have just built a ton of rafts to make a walkway there considering how many I made from deaths :(

You can make grass with the cultivator
Its even easier if you build a workbench then fence the entire area all over the place. The Elder will lose interest in you and proceed to deconstruct the base piece by piece by stomping on the fences.
I was never attacked the entire fight, it just spent its time attacking the fences till I killed it.

FYI the rain cannot destroy the wood. It deteriorates it but won’t destroy it.
Your new ROOF is not a roof unless it slopes, meaning you can not use floor pieces as roof. it will still take rain damage - BUT if you extend your sloping roof out to that same decree it will do

Sharpened Stakes would deter enemy attacks on your walls
he did not use his Eikthyr power at all , that would help him with the stamina

I forgot about it as well during the elder boss, he was around 1/4 health and I noticed that i didnt even use the powerup
