I had a day off from work today and decided to get as much stuff done around the house as I could.
I did some cooking, baking, cleaning, laundry and organizing. Also made a delicious dinner for the family. Hope this video provides you with some motivation.

🗒️ Recipes:
Oatmeal Bars:
1 banana
1 cup peanut butter or almond butter
1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup oats
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of salt
1/3 cup chocolate chips
Bake at 350F for 18 minutes
Chocolate chip cookies:
1 c sugar
1 c light brown sugar
2 sticks vegan butter
2 eggs
11/2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
3 c flour
11/2 tsp baking soda
3 bars broken Torino chocolate
In a large mixing bowl, mix the butter, and sugars until integrated (does not need to be fluffy)
Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Then mix in the flour, baking soda and salt until just mixed in.
Form into 1/4 balls. Place on a greased cookie sheet 2
inches apart. You can place in the fridge for a 15 minutes prior to baking to create a fluffier cookie as shown with a gooey center or you can just bake as is for a flatter crispier cookie.
Bake at 375 F for 8- 10 min or until golden brown. If baking from frozen add a couple extra minutes to the baking time.
Note: after you roll the dough and place on a baking sheet you can freeze it. Transfer to a sealed bag once frozen solid.
Cesar Salad Dressing:
1/2 Cup Mayo
2 Tsp mustard
1 Tbsp Soy sauce
1 minced garlic clove
S/p
1 Tsp onion soup mix

I'm retired now and all 5 of my children are adults with their own homes, but watching your videos reminds of those days when they were growing up and how tired I always felt even though it was also rewarding in so many ways. You are doing so beautifully!!

Dear Sonya, I hope you know how much I needed to see this today! My mom passed away a month ago and I've been dreading and putting off clearing out her apartment. I just can't bring myself to do it, but I have to get it done by the end of the month. Knowing that I'm not alone in having to do a task I don't want to do, has brought me encouragement and hope that I'm not alone, and that I can get it done. Ty for all the good you bring to others! When my husband passed away. I would have good intentions to clean out his closet. I would open the door and fall to my knees sobbing. It's a very difficult task so I feel for you. I found that I just needed more time before I cleaned it out. Best wishes.

My bedroom closet is the same way, just overwhelming. It will trash my entire bedroom and take all day so I get it. It's very hard to start a chore like that. Love the video and the kids are great helpers. Love and hugs from Texas 💕

Sonya, there is now a third option for a laundry product in addition to pods and pourables (liquids/powders). It's laundry sheets, and I love them! I use the brand Ecos laundry sheets, because I had been using Ecos liquid laundry soap for years. I did a couple of all-white loads to test the laundry sheets, and I was AMAZED at the results! I even threw in some old white tee shirts I'd had for years. Everything came out blindingly white and stain-free, like new. Of course the sheets are color-safe, but I used an all-white test load to really see how clean it got.
The laundry sheets come in thin squares of about 5". I usually use 2 squares if I have a full load.You just throw them into the machine with the clothes. They dissolve instantly in the water. I'll never go back to the liquid again.

@@SonyasPrep I got my Ecos laundry sheets at Whole Foods (50 sheets per box), but you probably can find them at other grocery stores. You can also order them online.
I will mention this. The Ecos brand of laundry sheets so far is the only well-known brand name of sheets I've seen at the two grocery stores near me. The other brands are unfamiliar to me. That's not to suggest that anything's wrong with them, but I stuck with the familiar.
@@SonyasPrep Sonya, be sure to look for LAUNDRY sheets, not dryer sheets. Dryer sheets are fabric softeners, and they go into the clothes dryer, not the washing machine. I mention this because the stores sometimes display the two products next to each other.

Love the idea of getting the batters ready the night before so it's just cooking in the morning! I understand about the closet - those are always a big job. Pick a day, maybe Sunday, and just start. It's hard to start, but once you dive in you'll be OK. Love your family!
I also understand about the closet - I usually put on some energetic music, or a radio play, listening to something helps!

I use a flat laundry sheet so there is no giant plastic containers. They work great on stains and great for environment.

I enjoy your channel so much. I have made some recipes all have been delicious and easy. I am not a great organizer but maybe get some big baskets and segregate out items in the closet so you can see what’s in there and go from there. You are amazing new baby, family and working. Oh, dear Sonya... you do SO MUCH for your family. I know you need to get that closet cleaned out, but give yourself some grace.... working full time, full time mama, new baby, YT content creator!!.. Maybe plan a time for it and give yourself an hour...time yourself. Do what you can in that amount of time and then do something just for you afterward. Maybe watch a closet organization video first to get some inspiration (Frum it Up has many organization & cleaning videos) and then just do what you can. Have your bins & bags & labels ready to go before starting and make yourself an iced mocha like you like to give you some extra energy during the process.
If you DON'T get it all done in one go, you can always go back to it another day. A very old wise woman once told me, when my boys were very little and I was struggling with messes, fingerprints and disorganization, "Children, when they grow up, will never remember how 'clean' the house was but they WILL remember how they felt in their home" and that went a long way for me to realize that I didn't need everything to be perfect but to simply make sure my boys were comfortable in our home. I still kept the house clean, but didn't stress so much about the minutae as I did beforehand.
Your children are obviously VERY happy and feel loved and safe in your home, so you're clearly doing everything right...but you have to remember to ease up on yourself, at least during this season of life when the babies are all still so little and can't always help you as much as they will when a little older. You are the definition of a Proverbs 31 woman and I'm sure Shy and everyone in your circle would agree. Big hugs from one mama to another.

For inspiration to clean out that closet-just think of how good you will feel afterwards! Make it theonly th8ng you need to do one day and get the kids to help. Then, reward yourself by doing something just for yourself. You are so gifted-YOU can do it!

We moved to a smaller home 5 years ago and I just got around to emptying the last boxes in the Main bedroom walk in closet and it turned out to be a fun surprise finding items I had forgot about! I still have one bathroom closet to do. After it is done give yourself a reward like a mani/ pedi and breakfast out alone!

I prefer the liquid detergent because i can skimp a bit on the amount I use to squeeze an extra load or two out of each bottle. Look after the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves ❤

Just something to add in case you didn't know, you really only need to use one detergent pod or measure of detergent, as too much detergent can remain in your clothes and be irritating to the skin, and of course it's just more expensive than using just one

I prefer pods for both the washing machine and the dishwasher because it is easier to dose correctly. The clothes and the dishes don't get cleaner with too much detergent but it will ruin the machine and the clothes.
I always look for an enzyme based cleaner. They work the best and can clean without needing to use a high temperature.
i like the pods when i travel ithrow a few in a zip lock and pack it
First thought: sweetheart, you need a NAP!! I know this is a crazy busy time, but squeeze some rest in your day! Second thought, on the closet: "How do you eat an elephant? ... " Break the clean-out into smaller chunks. Less overwhelming! (Listen to me, giving advice to the queen of efficiency! 😄) 🙋♀️

I so enjoy your contact. I am Blind so appreciate it when you narrate what you’re doing. So much is going on that. I can hear but cannot see so I do appreciate it when you have narration. Because I’m blind I do use the pods often because they’re so convenient and there’s no mess. I also like the laundry sheets because again no mess and it’s better for the environment, there are no micro plastics with the laundry sheets. I can also cut the sheets in half or even quarter if I have a small load which is so convenient. 13:35

Sonya I marvel at the volume and number of ingredients in your prep i.e. one dozen eggs for the omelet meal! You are so matter of fact about it, but as a single person cooking for just one I sometimes question adding a third egg! The girls did an amazing job helping Mommy on a very productive day, and great job big brother tutoring the little guy! Awesome job everyone!

Sonya..I bought a new cupboard and instead of hanging everything up with different hangers, I bought a couple of sets of the same hangers..it takes the look up a level..❤
Using the same hangers for everything makes a huge difference. A few years ago I bought 10 sets of 10 hangers, determined to rid all my closets of chaos. The hangers are a fairly thin yet sturdy plastic and have held up well. They are suitable for dresses, blouses, shirts, pants, and tees. I wear a lot of linen skirts year-round, and I just fold them over those same hangers without having to buy expensive skirt hangers.

I use the pods as well! I love them. I don’t have to worry about spilling or pouring too much! It also makes it easier for the kids to help with the wash. I just tell them how many pods and don’t worry about them using too much!
