Although, I gotta chalk it up to bit of good rng because he would attempt to trap Donald a few times and hilariously didn’t succeed, leading to more damage opportunities. Thanks for the guide!!!!
Been trying for well over an hour or two. Fuck this stupid fucking fight at this fucking level. I can get him to the book dimension, I can get him out and start on fire stunning him. UNTIL HE SOMEHOW JUST INSTANTLY PUTS YOU BACK IN A BOOK AND ONE SHOTS YOU. And I just love the continue feature where you get to watch the same shit over and over again and get to hear his shitty fucking laugh. Fuck Zexion, fuck the people who created him, I'm losing desire to keep playing this fucking game now.
@@spccew9818 Chiiillll, bro. Don't hate the game yet broooo. You're not really meant to defeat him this early anyway ( your movement and attacks are extremely limited. Not to mention that you don't have Second Chance or Once more AND top it all off, if you're playing on Critical then its kind of a death sentence 😆.). Level up a bit and come back like ur supposed to, then fold that bitch like an omelette!
Guys, don't do this fight at lvl 16. It's just too dependent on luck at this point. Wait until you beat the next world, then you'll get Wisdom Form which gives you Quick Run, and you'll have more health so you don't get one-shotted, and more strength so you don't need as many hits. I was lvl 21 when I beat him, and it was SO much easier than trying at lvl 16.
Good to know, since I beat kh 1 I've been playing each next game on the hardest difficulty, so playing this strictly on critical for my first playthrough has been...well...difficult.
Feels really bad when I'm already lvl 21 and I'm getting my ass absolutey handed to me.... really sucks too because my first attempt went super well, was getting into it, when all of a sudden I tried to activate valor and got fucking anti form instead... and couldn't fix my command menu.

I'm playing this game on the switch and the Trinity limit isn't working. Do you have to press different buttons or does this only work on critical mode?
Literally just tried doing this for the past 2 days. Knew it was possible and i had the same general strategy as you. Just a few things were different. My fire looping wasn't nearly as good as yours, didn't know there was enough time in between the fire spam to successfully use an ether before he broke out so i would always upper slash and i couldn't loop him for over 1+1/2 of an mp bar, this made it so i had never made it completely past second phase without triggering it once so that demonic mine blast instakill got me a bunch. 2nd, Final phase i had no idea that the book roulette had a set number of changes so i would always stand in between two at the start and then 50/50 on one and just guessing only takes you so far, even with trinity. And lastly I had no idea that retaliating slash was so good against the book barrier in final phase, never could make it out due to either that barrier, the roulette, or the rare instakill mine spam that i only got once. I decided to get broken magic spell number 1 and come back and finished with a much easier time than before. Still was a fun attempt
It means you do the fire finisher. Spells also have finishers. If you do 2 or 1 and then stop for a moment, you won't do the finisher and u can loop him like a froot loop
Pretty sure this fight was patched. He NEVER stayed in place for me after hitting him with fire. He would jump away then while I was trying to close the distance do the book crap.
Yeah the first time I've fought Zexion I'd figured he'd be a load of bulls***! I'm like yeah I'm gonna wait till I get stronger 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the worst boss fight I've ever dealt with smh
I noticed you kept going over his Revenge Value everytime you escaped the book dimension after his DM probably would have secured the victory a few minutes earlier if you haven't done that. That aside very good fight I will probably wait until i have Quick Run before i Fight Zexion.
You can avoid this if you stop using the limits finisher, particularly with goofy's knocksmash. It gives just enough time to avoid his weird ass forced extended RV, and gives just enough of time to hit him yourself if you need. Helps significantly to push for damage during his DM Spam phase.
I like your guides too, but a low level challenge in the middle of a walkthrough is kinda bull. Like this fight. Can only break books with combo finishers, great, go through another combo string for that last 1 hp just to free donald so that Zexion can immediately put him back in the book 5 more fucking times. Get to the book dimension, lock on, use trinity limit, great. Book survives with what, 1 hp because trinity limit just can't break bullshit game design, then Zexion does some bullshit book spam that one shots you. Sweet, let's start over and try that again. Shall we? Fuck this fight. If it isn't necessary at this point in the game, then fuck. This. Fucking. Fight.
Yeah it definitely is easier when you're a high level (and not on Critical mode). I just felt like I needed to display that these bosses can be defeated at the level you unlock them. But yes I do advise that you wait for most of them.

I immediately start attacking him after dispelling him the first time and boom, instant book and one shot dead. Can't even use trinity limit since MP charge. This is just ridiculous. Even when I free donald and goofy, they gave this guy the ability to fly away to the other side of the map, gives his book beam unlimited range. I've been at it for hours. I've even tried throwing in drive forms and somehow keep managing to get anti form every time.
I'm done. I got him down to less than half of his last bar of health. Popped drive and of course. Antiform. Could have won if Zexion, the king of bullshit video game design, didn't ignore my attacks just to book me and one shot me. This really just sucked the joy out of this game for me. Holy fuck, I'd rather fight Xemnas in KH1 again.
@@spccew9818 I think you get a much higher chance of activating Anti-Form in boss battles so that isn't surprising. Don't worry, you'll get him at a higher level. Btw if you think Zexion is difficult then I should warn you to DEFINITELY skip the Larxene battle vid until you're a higher level, unlocked after Port Royal.

I had him almost dead last night, I know what to do, even had a couple of attempts where he booked me more than twice and I escaped using the trinity limit maneuver, I just dunno why I can't finish, what I'm doing wrong, etc. I'm ocd and a perfectionist when gaming, so this fool is going to die one way or another!

You have to have trinity at the ready when he puts you in the book. I’m still struggling to beat him
At lvl 16 a way too hard for me. Sometimes got lucky but often i cant lock fire him. I am Gonna wait until im at higher level

fair warning if your using a limit zexion is a total cheat *AND WILL* extend the attack till you are captured
