At my church unfortunately I’ve seen a girl in short shorts do one of the readings and give out Holy Communion! The 2 priests there that day (it was last summer and a very hot day) said nothing, although they both spotted her when I did, when she first walked in and ran across the front of the church and into the sacristy. I was already shocked to see her dressed that way but I assumed she was going to put on a robe . Sadly, she came out in the same attire, processed up the aisle with everyone else. At Communion time, I got in another line. After that I started wearing the veil and skirts to Mass. I don’t think it’s wrong for a woman to wear pants to Mass(as long as they are not tight and not jeans) but somehow pants seem inappropriate with a veil. Do others have an opinion on this? In other words, I don’t find wearing slacks disrespectful, only maybe uncoordinated in terms of fashion, when also wearing the veil. However, the important thing is not fashion but to always show respect and love for Our Lord and His Most Holy Mother with modest clothing and the veil. Now that summer is here again, the women and girls in my parish are trying to keep cool at Mass, understandably, but I am going to stick with the veil and longer skirts, and pray it catches on.
WOW... God bless you women... this brought a grown man... 6 ft 200++ lb former Marine... to tears... what beauty... what reverence... we truly BELIEVE how we PRAY...
I veil for the same reason as the Orthodox Jewish Convert....I grew up Baptist but then went to Synagogue for years and veiled then....when I came to the Catholic Faith it was the Completeness of both worlds that I loved!
Wonderful. I started wearing veil after knowing Christ in the Eucharist when i was 17. Many people dont like it in our diocese, they stood up against this practice by arguing with fake and irrelevant facts about veiling, haha. But my Parish priest told me once that he thought he saw the Blessed Virgin Mary when it was actually me wearing the veil. I think wearing veil is a beautiful practice. As the daughter of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the bride of Christ, i loved every moment when i cover myself before Him.
I started veiling in September. At first I thought it would draw attention to me, but after I put in on it just felt right. I think that the veil is such a beautiful way to show Christ how much you love Him! I wish that women still veiled because it just is such a powerful thing when you see someone showing their love through the veil. I love veiling! My favorite quote in this: "It feels like you are entering the Holy of Holies, that sacred place that no one could go into. When you veil you feel like you've brought Him into your heart and you've just got Him all to yourself". That is absolutely beautiful!
Dear sisters you filled my eyes :) I am so proud of you :) Thank you so much for veiling :) I would say YOU LOOK HOLY AND DIVINE WHEN YOU VEIL :) Three words Awesome Awesome Awesome :) God bless :)
Wonderful. Thankyou to all my Catholic sisters in the video who have been given this beautiful grace to be examples and help keep our magnificent traditions alive for the younger ones. :-)
We are required to wear a veil before entering the chapel at the traditional Roman Catholic Church I go to. I love wearing a veil and it makes me feel Mary like. It also makes me beautiful in eyes of God and the people around me (as the other women are so beautiful in theirs).
I'm not catholic, I'm Apostolic and our women practice the head coverings as well. I think its a beautiful thing myself. I believe that its apart of modesty. Its a part of allowing your holiness to become your beauty. Alot of people say that it doesn't matter what you wear, however it does! If you are a servant of the Lord Jesus, then you should be separate from the ways of the world in its totality. Beautiful video.
Im also Apostolic and modest is hottest as our Youth call it but the covering of the head shows how women are holy in Jesius' name and showing beauty unto Gods eyes
Wherever the Blessed Sacrament is, that is where we veil. Because we believe that Jesus--body, blood, soul, and divinity--is present in the Eucharist, we veil before our Bridegroom and our King. And the veil reminds us that we are beautiful to our Lord.
So happy to find this fantastic video! I bought my first veil several months ago but didn't have the courage to wear it until last month, after reading and learning more about veiling. I was surprised at the peace I felt when I wore it to Mass and realized that it didn't matter what people were thinking because I felt like I was pleasing Our Lord and that is all that matters to me. This video is so encouraging! Thank you
The main reason for veiling in the Church is because the Women's womb is sacred. Anything sacred is veiled. The womb of a Woman is the Tabernacle of new life. It affords to Women a higher dignity. Especially in the presence of Christ. Women are given the special privilege from God in Genesis to be "Mother of the living". Just as the Ark of the Old Covenant was veiled. Mary's womb literally contained the 'Word made Flesh' Jesus Christ, She co-operated with God, to bring forth the God-Man. Jesus' humanity is taken from Mary, his Divinity from God. Fully Human and Fully Divine. For without Mary there is no Christ, and without Christ no salvation. Hence Mary is sacred, she is veiled. Ark of the New Covenant. In imitation of Mary veiling brings a lot of dignity and honour to Women. What a shame the world is so backwards as to think that veiling could be oppressive. What is oppressive is contraception, abortion and promiscuity. Mostly through exploitation.
Thank you for such a beautiful video! I often hear both women and men complain about how the veil is oppressive, yet take a look at where else veils are used in the liturgy. Veils cover the tabernacle, the chalice, the ciboria, the casket at a funeral, the bride at her wedding. Even Christ is veiled in the appearance of bread and wine. Are these not the most important things within the mass? Rather than hiding them, their veils represent an aura of sanctity not visible to our eyes. Why then should the chapel veil mean anything different? Thank you so much!
They are so beautiful that they make any woman wearing it just as beautiful, and not in the vain way of saying so. They look so pure and focused. And I didn't know that these veils have so many styles. I see them all wearing veils and no two are alike. Amazing designs, almost like snowflakes! Bless.
I am an ancient lady of 61 from an era in which veiling was required. To me, to walk into church sans veil would be akin to walking in only partly clad. To me it is so normal and natural that it is inconceivable not to do so. He is God. He is there before me. I cover my head. End of story. Would we wear sloppy dress to an audience with an earthly king or queen? Then why disrespect the King of the entire universe, and King of our hearts?
The sweet blonde lady in the video said she was once part of the Jewish religion. A good friend who goes to our Traditional Roman Catholic Church is also a convert from the Jewish religion. He even had a bar mitzvah when he was younger. He's one the most devoted traditional Roman Catholics I know and it just warms my heart to see his deep devotion to our Lord, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and all the saints. (The Jewish people rejected Jesus Christ. Many Jewish people still reject Him and have their own religion.)
At the church I attended I always see a few Spanish older ladies who wear all white and they wear the white veil. They hand out rosary every Sunday to people.
I remember our grandmothers wearing veil, it was always told to us that in today world only widows were veil. But of course that is not truth it is only an excuse....It will help a lot of people if you show in what part o the Mass you put your veil on because as I recall there are moments in Mass were you don't put it on, so when you put it, it tells you this is a special and sacred moment now.
All these ladies are on the road to eternal salvation. Keep up the example because reverence is what's badly needed in the church these days. God Bless them all.
This is so beautiful !!... Iam going use this video for my young adult group to show them what they are spouse to be doing... Your the man gabi you have help me a lot... God bless and pray for me !!
In my profile pic here. (silly snapchat filter) but you can see my wife. She started veiling 3 years ago due to seeing teens at a daily mass veiling. she was 30. so she bought one and started.
Only very young girls will veil (in white) when receiving their first Holy Eucharist at my parish. Actually, I've seen one woman, well into her 70s, veiled in a very dark navy blue. I wish to veil & am wondering what is a proper color for a middle aged (50s) childless, widow? Thanks for any input. Also, thanks for this beautiful video. :-)
The color means nothing. This issue is not wearing a veil either. The issue is covering your head. Before 1960 most women wore hats and they wore hats to church.Once hats fell out of style many women began wearing veils.A hat is an equally valid option.
Hello! Please, I would love to translate this video to Portuguese! This video is absolutely beautiful and so touching. How can I get in touch? Have a wonderful day! God bless! Amanda
I wonder ... You said that vailing draws people attention to God. But I live in a country where noone (but realy noone) uses the vail. So if I started using of vail I would draw all attention to me, not to God, because peole will see it and start to wonder what is wrong with me.
Fred Ronald King Jr , not true... not completely true. And a denial of the fact and important fact that how we dress does matter, it does effect the "environment" and it does effect the atmosphere and demeanor of those around us. Fred, I can tell you care, you now have an opportunity to ..... go deeper. Peace and good.
Truly Christianity has more reasons to veil than Islam but many rebel against it. Spiritually the veil shows the covering of a woman's hair or glory which Jesus did when he was veiled in flesh to hide his glory. Moses veiled his face when among the children of Israel so they could not see the glory but removed it when he went up on the mountain to talk to God. In like manner we see the perfect example of a prophet like unto Moses when Jesus took Peter, James and John up on the mountain and the veil of his flesh was removed as he was transfigured and all three beheld the glory of God. The veil is also signifies the covering of the Spirit of God upon the saints and church as in Isaiah 30. The veil is removed for the test of jealousies and judgment begins in the house of God. many women do not realize that when they remove the veil they have no covering for their sin before their jealous God and Husband Jesus. Also, Rebecca veiled herself to meet Isaac and he being the child of promise is an example of Jesus. When Christian women expect to meet Jesus in a service to hear from him it is disrespectful for them to meet him unveiled. Not only in scriptures, but in deeper judgments women are to veil and we have more reasons than Islam. This is why I do respect the women who have veiled and have no desire to be as men. That pride which makes women want to be as men forsakes the important spiritual similitude of the saints being covered by the Spirit of God and women being created as a similitude of the bride of Christ, which are the words of Adam which the apostle Paul explained in Ephesians 5: 31, 32. Whether Niqab, Hijab, Chador, Burka, or chapel veil, they are all important in women being that example of the bride of Christ following Mary's example. If only more women would see this and return to veiling it would please God. May God bless.
These are all good points, however, the reason Catholic women veil is because we are in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Allelujah! Allelujah! God bless you, Esther.
Seriously... This is so beautiful, but it's just sooo short... I mean we need more testimonies as Catholics, and we - women - need to be reminded of our dignity as God's creatures. This whole fashion pointing towards revealing all of your body, at the physical beauty is just disgusting. Need to buy lace and make mantillas I guess :D
Eu falo português. Posso traduzir, mas não sei como entrar em contato para poder traduzi-lo! :( I speak Portuguese. I can translate, but I don't know how to get in touch to translate! :(
Thanks, Gabi. I bought a veil today. Please keep me in your prayers, everyone. I am going to my first Latin Mass this Friday.

can any women wear the veil?
I'm inspired to start wearing a Vail when I'm going to the adoration chapel
I started veiling the day of my conformation and I will not go to Mass or even the Rosary without my veil. Jesus touched me heart to do it so I do...

I love wearing the veil! Because I love my dearest Jesus and feeling like His wife!
God bless!
recently, I feel like I want to adopt this practice. when I get my paycheck, I'll purchase a veil

I began veiling when I was still in the RCIA. It's sad how so many women and even priests push away veiling as something outdated or oppressive.
great to see that. this modern generation is embracing the tradition. . tradition is never never out of date as God is never ending
I am an ancient lady of 61 from an era in which veiling was required. To me, to walk into church sans veil would be akin to walking in only partly clad. It's the anonymity i like. Our society is so, 'look at me....
Toxic individualism. Toxic superficiality.
Thank you for making this video, very much. This is well done, and I'm excited to be able to share it.
Thank you sister, I just started wearing my veil this year. Everything you sister said is correct. God Bless You All
wow. this is so beautiful!

can I wear a veil to Mass even though its not a Traditional Latin Mass?
Yes you can!
I wear one to the novus Ordo mass, myself!

Anyone know where to purchase the white veil shown at 4:04 through 4:18 in this video? I really want to buy one but can't find it online. Thanks.

Do you veil in front of the tabernacle/blessed sacrament or only when Jesus is exposed??
So beautiful. :D
Testimony from people who get it.

you can wear any color it just depends on you. the only requirement I would see with it is don't let your vanity get in the way of praising the lord
I now have an off-white veil. Yes, it's about being reverent & not vane. :-)
Robin Chanteuse Dylan that sounds awesome. I have a creme colored one and I'm working to save up for a black one and a regular white veil

How many women/girls wore veils at your churches for Wear the Veil Day?
This is beautiful

Nah, honestly, people at Church aren't noticing people or their attire. Veil if you feel called but, Don't worry about what others are attentive to.
Fred Ronald King Jr , not true... not completely true. I DON'T HAVE PRAYER VEIL AND CAN'T FIND ONE
