@elizabethbekoe381, You are absolutely right. That’s why we can’t develop. We have hurt too many leaders and treated their descendants wickedly. That’s the curse on Ghana and no matter how many churches we build and how loudly we proclaim our nation a Christian State, our sovereignty will never take hold until we hold a national funeral or event of public remorse, for all those killed unjustly, invite their families, as well as the families of all Ghana’s First States men and women who served with Kwame Nkrumah and compensate them. We as a nation must remove the curses pronounced on us due to the pain and humiliation all these families have suffered. None of Kwame Nkrumah’s Ministers or himself or his family received any ex-gratia for their outstanding leadership. Many are buried in their villages and obscure places, and not in the National cemetery built for Statesmen and Women. I mean as the daughter of Nkrumah’s Minister who served Ghana as a Minister Plenipotentiary (serving in more than one position) for a single pay, I have also cursed Ghana many times and so did my late father also with his tears, for not recognizing my late fathers hard work for little pay. Yet Ghana can give a dance hall Princess a State burial with full honours. Ghana has been cursed and it’s time to reverse those curses by doing right; and we shall rapidly come to our full potential of true sovereignty. My question is why our fathers had to work so hard without recognition, while others after them, keep reaping where they’ve never sown an acre’s worth of corn, in the selfless and patriotic fields of national public service, as Leaders and Statesmen and Women? Ghanaians are the most wicked Africans on the continent … Aren’t they the only nation who sentenced their First President to death in a foreign land after he begged and begged to be offered the common dignity to die on the soil of the very nation he liberated? This was the beginning of the curses which has plagued Ghana since 1966. We are stuck in underdevelopment and are struck with the eternal plague of mediocrity praise. What a shame ; for had we even practiced a system of developmental continuity modeled after Nkrumah’s, Ghana would have been as developed as Singapore, if not even more; because after all; “The African is capable of managing his own affairs…” (#TheOneAndOnlyOsagyefo) 🥹🥹🥹 Nkrumah has received more honour in other African nations than he has in Ghana.

I drove Dr. Nkrumah`s personal physician to work at children's hospital in the Bronx couple times. He introduced himself. He is long gone because he was very old then. Never said anything about President owning any property in America.
Samia, don't mind those bloody idiots who accused your father of destroying Ghana. I ask these idiots if it wasn't for Nkrumah. Where would our country be? Baba Kwame Nkrumah has a heart by building our country, such as institutes and factories plus transportation. Baba Kwame Nkrumah is a great man 💯 Respect to both you, Sister Samia, and your brothers Brother Gamal and Brother Sekou.
It’s not only Yaba but I am also shedding tears listening to her and reading in comments someone asking the question “who stole the future from us.” Those tears make me angry when I look at all these jokers, looters and thieves who call themselves politicians and are ruling the country. May God forgive us as a Nation and raise for us once again leaders like Kwame Nkrumah.

Your Dad was a very great man in the world. His mission and ideas were very notched. He was a very strong personality with no fears. But the reason was he spent so much money on other countries instead of using it to develop ghana. Ghana didn't have a decent capital city at that time compare to likes of Kenya, Egypt, South Africa and many more so he should have focused on developed Accra to a high standard then also help our African countries. He was much into Africa's Unity, so all his mindset were there, which it wasn't a bad idea but built your home first. He was overthrown not by the greedy Ghanaians politician but his words of Africa unity. They shouldn't have listened to overthrown him because we needed him. There is no Africa president who can point out, and say any European country is poor, but Nkrumah said even Portugal, one of the poorest countries in Europe, is oppressing our Africa country. That shows how bold he was. May he RIP. I listened to his speech every day, and i could see the man he was.
Its about time the country make history subject compulsory so the next generation will be informed. Most of the youth today dont know our history which is very unfortunate
Hmmm it's really sad, yet Ghanaians are not asking serious questions. I thank God Almighty Samia Nkrumah is telling them how General Achempong brought them back to Ghana in 1975. And how he brought Dr Kwame Nkrumah's dead body back to Ghana yet General Achempong was shot without any tangible reasons.
Acheampong was the best president Ghana had after Kwame Nkrumah. He was going to bring Nkrumah back after his coup but unfortunately, Kwame Nkrumah died. Acheampong did more things for Ghana after Kwame Nkrumah. But no one remembers Acheampong! He was the best leader after Kwame Nkrumah.
I think Nana Kwame bediako should meet Samia because she has ideas like her father and also have simpaty of human being so yeah should bring her to the new force moviment and can choose her as vice president because Ghana needs people who have vision and solution to create jobs and help interprenuers

This sweet lady is the daughter of the greatest man that Africa has ever beheld. Ghanaians will forever remember and appreciate our Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah. Now Napo and NPP, what has that Akufo Addo done for Ghana that gives you the audacity to compare him with our Osagyefo. Akufo Addo has raped and robbed Ghana for 8 years without mercy. His father, a scandalous and corrupt figure, did the same thing in his days as president. Napo we don't want that fake apology, we want you the and NPP out.
I think all Ghanaians like Nkrumah. But he was not a perfect human being. There were many things that he did wrong but we are not going to bring those things up. As Ghanaians we need to focus on the future and see how we are going to industrialise and improve the lives of our people.
As we all know very well, no human being is perfect but what everybody also knows is that, Kwame Nkrumah gave his all to building Ghana and serving the best interests of Ghanaians & Africans.
1:28 Samia talks about her father giving up his house to Ghana and making a deliberate decision to not make money from politics. - that is selflessness. 11:13 Samia describes both her parents as modest people. 15:14 Samia talks about the sacrifice her fathe[& mother] made. - that is Patriotism. Nkrumah can only be voted man of the millennium in Africa, where your education is measured by your ability to speak and write your colonial masters language. We have so-called brilliant economists and lawyers in ghana, who can not design and implement a strategy to obliterate the socioeconomic woes of high unemployment, food insecurity, infrastructures deficits etc, except for them to fabricate nonsensical childish lies that the colonial masters don’t want Africa to develop so they can continue to steal Africa’s natural resources. Meanwhile great man lee kuan yew of Singapore inherited an island nation with far fewer natural resources than ghana and like ghana no home grown technology to extract and add value to natural resources. Nevertheless he harnessed the power of strong management skills to make his dream of a modern and civilized Singapore a reality. For Africa to be truly independent the educated must strive to acquire good management skills and technology to be able to extract and add value to our natural resources in Africa. That’s what the Chinese did to be able to move huge portion of their poor into middle income status.
Kwame Nkrumah never gave any money to Japan. That is a blatant lie. It is unfortunate that people continue to believe these lies. And, Ghana assisted Guinea in 1958 because the wicked French colonisers had destroyed their economy. What do you do when you see your fellow human beings suffering? You help them. You have to be wicked and heartless to condemn Nkrumah for helping our African siblings.
USA education feeds lies about this great leader.. President Kwame Nkrumah, yet where is the anger about an imperialist country that is always talking about democracy, while practicing hypocrisy when it comes to Africa.
Ghanaians have wasted too many years and time discussing the dead, Kwame Nkrumah. Instead of accepting the fact that he is forever gone and focusing on the living and the best way to develop Ghana, almost all the airwaves, social media, etc are always talking about him when nothing good comes out of it. I have not heard or seen Americans wasting time talking about Washington every day.
That is not true at all, Americans are forever referring to their "founding fathers" JFK, EISENHOWER and the rest.. What are you talking about.. The English will NEVER cease to mention Winston Churchill. Only we are the ones who want to throw our history in the rubbish bin.👍🏿
Listen to Nkrumah’s daughter explaining how his father was using Ghana’s 600 for his Pan African Projects. When the East Africans were using theirs to develop
The first post colonial president of ghana Nkrumah was rather a reactionary leader but not visionary. Ghana the first subsaharan Africa country to gain independence was not intended by the colonial masters to be an island of independent country in black Africa, it was a pilot program designed to determine how the black man would manage his own affairs. But unfortunately the first dictator and egotistical Nkrumah, a man who upon becoming the first president of newly independent ghana, could not find a wife in his own country but a white woman from Egypt, apparently failed to realize that. Instead of Nkrumah, upon ghana’s independence deploying a simple strategy of displaying prudent and convincing management of limited resources in combination with high level negotiations aimed to convince the colonial masters for total liberation of Africa. Nkrumah rather and arrogantly decided to use the limited resources of his fledgling newly independent country without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways to finance an unwarranted war against the well entrenched colonial masters for total liberation of Africa. In the end, apart from the tragic loss of lives in the difficult and convoluted war path option Nkrumah adopted for total liberation of Africa, he also squandered resources he could use to provide infrastructures across his newly independent country to spur future economic growth in his war for total liberation of Africa. Instead of Nkrumah, deploying the services of the army of his newly independent country of six million people and more importantly without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways to help spearhead a revolution in new roads and highways construction across their new country, Nkrumah rather deployed them in Congo to fight. Ironically, the soldiers Nkrumah deployed in Congo to fight, upon returning to ghana, sitting idle in the barracks and witnessing the indiscipline and wanton corruption in Nkrumah’s government decided to topple his government. Had Nkrumah had the vision of humility to adopt a peaceful option of negotiations for total liberation of Africa and engaged his soldiers at home to help execute national and patriotic duty of new roads and highways construction across their new country, they would have been so preoccupied by the task of building infrastructures in their new country for their use and children’s children and that there would be no motivation for them to remove Nkrumah from power. And Nkrumah would have had the same political stability great man lee kuan yew of Singapore had to make his dream of a modern and civilized Singapore a reality. Africa’s underlying problem is not neocolonialism but rather official corruption, which started from Nkrumah’s regime, bad governance and absence of technology to extract and add value to our natural resources in Africa,if now fragmented africa becomes a single entity in future and the underlying problems, especially bad governance, now inhibiting economic growth in individual Africa countries persist the continent would still be an empty giant.
@@ABempah 1. Ghana was not intended by the colonial masters to be an independent country? So, for you, the destiny of Ghana and Africa is determined by the colonisers? Ok noted. 2. A man who provided free education and healthcare for all his people and gave up his own house to the State can never be a dictator and he certainly wasn’t “egotistical”. Also, Fathia was an African from Egypt and not a white woman. 3. Nkrumah had no duty to convince the colonisers over anything. You are like Busia and JB Danquah. You people worship the white man and consider him to be god. 4. It is an undisputed fact that Nkrumah embarked on a massive infrastructure building in Ghana. The Nkrumah you are demonising that he squandered money is the only one who has constructed a Motorway in Ghana. Leaders today cannot even maintain it properly, not to talk of constructing a new one. 5. The fight for the liberation of African countries was unwarranted?! Such a colonial apologist you are. 6. So, your colonial masters were destabilising the newly-independent Congo and you fault Nkrumah for sending Ghanaian soldiers to defend the legal government of Lumumba? Smh. 7. You keep talking about “infrastructures” but no Ghanaian leader can be compared to Nkrumah when it comes to infrastructural projects. 8. It is evident that, you have a colonial mentality and due to that, you fault Kwame Nkrumah for his fearless defense of Africa’s interests against the colonialist and neo-colonialist schemes of your white masters. 9. Hopefully, one day you will learn that Africans have no masters and Africa belongs to Africans. Kwame Nkrumah never dies and you can never soil his legacy, no matter how much you or your masters try.
@@talkingAfrica The bottom line is that if Nkrumah had not taken his newly independent country into a war for total liberation of Africa, his government would not have been toppled. And Nkrumah ghana would have had the necessary ingredient of political stability, without military adventurism of coups,to pursue his agenda for ghana and broader africa.
@@ABempah Kwame Nkrumah and Ghana supporting fellow Africans to liberate themselves is a selfless act deserving the highest commendation. It is only a heartless and selfish person who will free themselves from colonial bondage and turn a blind eye to their siblings who are not yet free. The solidarity Kwame Nkrumah displayed proves what a humane and selfless man he was. The involvement of the west in his overthrow is completely unjustifiable and a crime against the people of Ghana and Africa. Also, it is not true that the support Nkrumah was offering other African countries is why the west backed the coup. It was Nkrumah’s determination to make Ghana economically independent through industrialisation
Nkrumah’s much touted imports substitution assembly plants and development of a whole new city from scratch was tantamount to doing the right thing at the wrong time. The all powerful almighty God who spoke the earth into existence, didn’t need six days to finish creation, he could undoubtedly finish creation in one day or even one second, but just as in his usual humility came to earth and was brutally crucified on the cross by mankind he created in his own image, systematically finished creation in six days. Why six days? Maybe almighty God is speaking to mankind, through his holy book that because of limited resources it’s not good to start two or more major projects concurrently. In a nutshell, had president Nkrumah first made holistic investments to attain a transition to nation wide mechanized agriculture, including construction of canals to potential farming areas for irrigation and transportation, ghana now would not be importing tomatoes and onions from Sahel countries of Burkina Faso and Niger. Attainment of mechanized agriculture would have eventually caused several farm workers to become jobless since farm machines would replace human workers. Then implementation of imports substitution industrialization, including development of a whole new city from scratch would be sustainable and a sound policy, since it would create new lucrative factory jobs to absorb displaced farm workers. The rush to implement imports substitution industrialization in the absence of rural development and mechanized agriculture, merely triggered farm workers in neglected rural areas without clean drinking water, electricity etc to migrate for the newly created lucrative factory jobs in cities where all the modern amenities were concentrated. It should be noted that the great United States of America didn’t become industrial giant overnight, the way Nkrumah had wanted ghana to be, but rather it has evolved from agriculture to industrialization and now information economy. The great United States of America now a highly industrial country still export more food than imports, because of strong agriculture foundation while so called Nkrumah ghana a subsaharan Africa country blessed with vast fertile and arable land imports more food than export.
You are exposing your ignorance now. Most of the factories Osagyefo built were located in the rural towns of Ghana as that is where the raw materials were sourced. You people seek to blame Osagyefo for all kinds of things but it has been 58 years and nobody has done better than him. The hate on Osagyefo is just ridiculous and lacks basis in fact or objectivity.
For some things he was good at his time but today to compare him with Nana Addo 34 Million population of the 4 million population of Nkrumah’s time then Nana Addo is more better with ( ye awi nam no ma aka dompe) Nana Show Boy
Your father was irresponsible not selfless because he thought Ghana was his property. You are working for the Nation and the Nation pays him too, and you know your children too are alien from far away Egypt why❓
Osagyefo mismanaged Ghana’s economy by embarking on a path of industrialisation to achieve economic independence and self-reliance? Seeking to making Ghana add value to her abundant raw materials is mismanagement? Today, Ghana’s economy is in a total mess and Ghanaians are suffering more than ever before. Your Ghana leaders are telling you today that the only real solution to Ghana’s problems is for Ghana to industrialise. In order words, the only way out for Ghana is to go back to Nkrumah’s way. Kwame Nkrumah has been totally vindicated but some of you are too ignorant and clueless to see.
@@talkingAfrica no! Not that he went upon spending our treasure on his Pan Africanism campaign as that was mattered most for Ghanaians. He gave away tens of millions of our pound sterlings to countries like Guinea for free as if we were already developed.
You cannot keep repeating these false claims. You were only able to mention Guinea because that is the only country there but you dishonestly seek to make it appear as if there are many more countries. More importantly, Osagyefo advanced a loan to Guinea due to the fact that the wicked French colonisers had damaged their economy simply because Guineans chose real independence. When your siblings are suffering, what you do as a human being with a heart is to assist them. You have to be very heartless and selfish to attack Osagyefo for that. Also, it is never the case that, that loan to Guinea handicapped Ghana in anyway. Osagyefo went on to undertake unprecedented infrastructural and economic development in Ghana. Till today, nobody has surpassed him. I hope you will reevaluate your misguided opinion.
Nkrumah’s misplaced priorities and arrogance precipitated his ultimate downfall. Nkrumah had no business going to Vietnam on peace mission, he should have stayed in his newly independent country of six million people and without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways to oversee, for example, the extension of the railway network, the colonial masters concentrated in the gold mining and cocoa producing areas to other parts of ghana. And let Asia leaders find a compromise to the Vietnam problems. While lee kuan yew of Singapore was busy laying strong foundations for future economic growth in his country and didn’t have time for the problems in Vietnam. Nkrumah on the other hand was busy hosting and attending meetings. That is why today, the difference between two countries that gained independence from colonial rule almost simultaneously is like day and night,in the context of economic development. Instead of Nkrumah, deploying the services of the army of his newly independent country of six million people and more importantly without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways to help spearhead a revolution in new roads and highways construction across their newly independent country,Nkrumah rather deployed them in Congo to fight. It is good to share opinions, but you have no idea what Africa was fighting against till now, and you here ranting like you know for sure your suggestions would have worked. What benefits had Africa gained for having a relationship with the West? He said ghanas is meaningless if the entire continent is not liberated.....because the enemies have joined forces to destabilise the continent in 1884 in Berling and the same measure of strength is needed but some Africans were selfish and with parochial interest and were ready to obey the master.Every period of time has its own way of handling situations. Stop demonising the great leader because he knew everything he was doing and was working to liberate a suffering race, but he was not a God but only a human who saw tomorrow, but his people were myopic and greedy. And those greedy ones won because they laise and connive with the enemy to kill and wash his dream of freeing his race. Cursed race is Africans because the level of greed, wickedness, and stupidity of many makes it difficult to cleanse this race. There are too many sellouts, too much greed, and too many stupid people. Black people always fight against each other for scrambles for the benefits of their enemy. Marcus Garvey was betrayed by a coded black fellow called 800, Nkrumah was betrayed with smiles on their faces, yet they were agent of CIA. Suffering race without any intentions to change and repent from their race. Sometimes, if i hear some of you write and demonstrate your ignorance with a twisted and colonised mindset, I get sick.
I lived in that era. When anyone runs that BS about Kwame Nkrumah I just burst out laughing. The man never thought he would be kicked out of office. He thought no one had the b@[[s to kick him out of office. He thought he was going to be president for life. No one dared oppose him. He had the last word. Like Akuffo Addo in a way. Can you believe he was giving Ghana's hard earned money to friends like Sekou Toure? Because he felt like it. We would have had a Mugabe on our hands. That was why he went mentally devastated when he heard he was kicked out. My Ghana, my Akosombo. That was his thinking. He didn't have a house because what was the rush, i own the county. But time wasn't on his hands.
I was there also, but what you are saying is nonsense. The man was not corrupt. Helping another African country, France, had bombed them because they didn't want to become part of Francophone countries . See all the industries he built and evil Ghanaians sold all of them. The atomic project was almost completed when he was overthrown. If the NLC and Busia government had completed it,we would not have light off in Ghana . Because of all this nonsense by the Ghanaians, I left Ghana more than 40s years ago to the US. See how the country is suffering now because of corruption.
@@wojaffochicago6591 A man who was the victim of 6 assassination attempts never thought he would be kicked out of office? Lol. Osagyefo did not give Ghana’s money to Sékou Toure?

Start interview the valenda boys they did all the bad job for him.
But Nkrumah gave Ghanaians money to Japan and Guinea
Kwame Nkrumah never gave any money to Japan. That is a blatant lie. It is unfortunate that people continue to believe these lies.
And, Ghana assisted Guinea in 1958 because the wicked French colonisers had destroyed their economy. What do you do when you see your fellow human beings suffering? You help them.
You have to be wicked and heartless to condemn Nkrumah for helping our African siblings.

Listen to Nkrumah’s daughter explaining how his father was using Ghana’s 600 for his Pan African Projects. When the East Africans were using theirs to develop
Kwame Nkrumah was a dictator and a power drunk
This is also the lies they put across to tanish his reputation and destroy his futuristic plans for ghana and Africa. Stop buying those lies.
Why are you pretending like you not know about that, the man did own nothing.
Many Ghanaians are ignorant about that fact. After Nkrumah’s overthrow, many lies were told about him and the truth was hidden from Ghanaians
What a very misguided teacher
@@ABempah
So he was a lover of the euro-albinod... FIGURES
Your father was not corrupt but he mismanaged Ghana’s economy.

If you are going to defame a man, the least you can do is to be truthful. The people of Guinea were being brutally punished by the French simply because they chose real independence. Guinea was nearly crippled and Ghana went to their aid. That was a true depiction of humanity and solidarity. You have to be a selfish and heartless person to fault Osagyefo for that.

It is true that in his mind, he knew that there was nobody in Ghana who would overthrown his government because of the things he was doing for the country.
