Every time l hear Samia Nkurumah speaks . As a parent and mother ...reminds me of all the children of ex.president and all the pass great leaders of ghana who where wiped out and killed leaving their family behind with no suport and yet Late president Rawlings children are walking free with all the riches and privilege that ghana can offer is heart breaking to many !! ..so sad 😢😢

    • @globalcetzen5271
      @globalcetzen5271 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @elizabethbekoe381,
You are absolutely right. That’s why we can’t develop. We have hurt too many leaders and treated their descendants wickedly.
That’s the curse on Ghana and no matter how many churches we build and how loudly we proclaim our nation a Christian State, our sovereignty will never take hold until we hold a national funeral or event of public remorse, for all those killed unjustly, invite their families, as well as the families of all Ghana’s First States men and women who served with Kwame Nkrumah and compensate them. We as a nation must remove the curses pronounced on us due to the pain and humiliation all these families have suffered.
None of Kwame Nkrumah’s Ministers or himself or his family received any ex-gratia for their outstanding leadership. Many are buried in their villages and obscure places, and not in the National cemetery built for Statesmen and Women.
I mean as the daughter of Nkrumah’s Minister who served Ghana as a Minister Plenipotentiary (serving in more than one position) for a single pay, I have also cursed Ghana many times and so did my late father also with his tears, for not recognizing my late fathers hard work for little pay.
Yet Ghana can give a dance hall Princess a State burial with full honours.
Ghana has been cursed and it’s time to reverse those curses by doing right; and we shall rapidly come to our full potential of true sovereignty.
My question is why our fathers had to work so hard without recognition, while others after them, keep reaping where they’ve never sown an acre’s worth of corn, in the selfless and patriotic fields of national public service, as Leaders and Statesmen and Women?
Ghanaians are the most wicked Africans on the continent …
Aren’t they the only nation who sentenced their First President to death in a foreign land after he begged and begged to be offered the common dignity to die on the soil of the very nation he liberated? This was the beginning of the curses which has plagued Ghana since 1966. We are stuck in underdevelopment and are struck with the eternal plague of mediocrity praise.
What a shame ; for had we even practiced a system of developmental continuity modeled after Nkrumah’s, Ghana would have been as developed as Singapore, if not even more; because after all; “The African is capable of managing his own affairs…”
      (#TheOneAndOnlyOsagyefo)
      🥹🥹🥹
Nkrumah has received more honour in other African nations than he has in Ghana.

Your Dad was a very great man in the world. His mission and ideas were very notched. He was a very strong personality with no fears. But the reason was he spent so much money on other countries instead of using it to develop ghana. Ghana didn't have a decent capital city at that time compare to likes of Kenya, Egypt, South Africa and many more so he should have focused on developed Accra to a high standard then also help our African countries. He was much into Africa's Unity, so all his mindset were there, which it wasn't a bad idea but built your home first. He was overthrown not by the greedy Ghanaians politician but his words of Africa unity. They shouldn't have listened to overthrown him because we needed him. There is no Africa president who can point out, and say any European country is poor, but Nkrumah said even Portugal, one of the poorest countries in Europe, is oppressing our Africa country. That shows how bold he was. May he RIP. I listened to his speech every day, and i could see the man he was.

Ndc stole your future from you ! Did you hear her mention Gen. Acheampong ? YES he was a good man but was killed ! Gen. Acheampong was the one who begged President Sekou Toure to give him back the body of Osagyefo to be buried in Ghana because he was going to be buried in Conakry/ Guinea ! He brought him down to Ghana and buried him in his hometown Nkroful ! It was Gen. Acheampong who brought back Osagyefo's wife and children to Ghana and settled them at Nyaniba estates and were ejected by Flt Lt Rawlings and sent back to Egypt and the house giving to Mr D.F Annan member of the pndc and speaker of parliament during ndc 1&2 ! Flt Lt Rawlings brought Osagyefo's body from Nkroful to present day Nkrumah Mausoleum but rejected his wife being buried there by Papa Kuffuor ! Ndc are evil and nobody understand their actions ! I wonder how ndc want to affiliate to Osagyefo when they are totally different all together ! He was selfless, patriotic and took bold decisions while ndc are create loot and share and unpatriotic ! Osagyefo loved Ghana more than himself ! Samia Nkrumah was about 4-5 years old her brother Sekou was about 2 - 3 years and their older brother between 6-7 years they were very young when the coup overthrew their father !They showed them on tv black & white and in the papers at the airport ready to leave Ghana ! The first post colonial president of ghana Nkrumah was rather a reactionary leader but not visionary.
Ghana the first subsaharan Africa country to gain independence was not intended by the colonial masters to be an island of independent country in black Africa, it was a pilot program designed to determine how the black man would manage his own affairs.
But unfortunately the first dictator and egotistical Nkrumah, a man who upon becoming the first president of newly independent ghana, could not find a wife in his own country but a white woman from Egypt, apparently failed to realize that.
Instead of Nkrumah, upon ghana’s independence deploying a simple strategy of displaying prudent and convincing management of limited resources in combination with high level negotiations aimed to convince the colonial masters for total liberation of Africa.
Nkrumah rather and arrogantly decided to use the limited resources of his fledgling newly independent country without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways to finance an unwarranted war against the well entrenched colonial masters for total liberation of Africa.
In the end, apart from the tragic loss of lives in the difficult and convoluted war path option Nkrumah adopted for total liberation of Africa, he also squandered resources he could use to provide infrastructures across his newly independent country to spur future economic growth in his war for total liberation of Africa.
Instead of Nkrumah, deploying the services of the army of his newly independent country of six million people and more importantly without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways to help spearhead a revolution in new roads and highways construction across their new country, Nkrumah rather deployed them in Congo to fight.
Ironically, the soldiers Nkrumah deployed in Congo to fight, upon returning to ghana, sitting idle in the barracks and witnessing the indiscipline and wanton corruption in Nkrumah’s government decided to topple his government.
Had Nkrumah had the vision of humility to adopt a peaceful option of negotiations for total liberation of Africa and engaged his soldiers at home to help execute national and patriotic duty of new roads and highways construction across their new country, they would have been so preoccupied by the task of building infrastructures in their new country for their use and children’s children and that there would be no motivation for them to remove Nkrumah from power.
And Nkrumah would have had the same political stability great man lee kuan yew of Singapore had to make his dream of a modern and civilized Singapore a reality.
Africa’s underlying problem is not neocolonialism but rather official corruption, which started from Nkrumah’s regime, bad governance and absence of technology to extract and add value to our natural resources in Africa,if now fragmented africa becomes a single entity in future and the underlying problems, especially bad governance, now inhibiting economic growth in individual Africa countries persist the continent would still be an empty giant.

      2. A man who provided free education and healthcare for all his people and gave up his own house to the State can never be a dictator and he certainly wasn’t “egotistical”. Also, Fathia was an African from Egypt and not a white woman.

The Nkrumah you are demonising that he squandered money is the only one who has constructed a Motorway in Ghana. Leaders today cannot even maintain it properly, not to talk of constructing a new one.
      5. The fight for the liberation of African countries was unwarranted?! Such a colonial apologist you are.
      6. So, your colonial masters were destabilising the newly-independent Congo and you fault Nkrumah for sending Ghanaian soldiers to defend the legal government of Lumumba? Smh.
      7. You keep talking about “infrastructures” but no Ghanaian leader can be compared to Nkrumah when it comes to infrastructural projects.
      8. It is evident that, you have a colonial mentality and due to that, you fault Kwame Nkrumah for his fearless defense of Africa’s interests against the colonialist and neo-colonialist schemes of your white masters.

Nkrumah’s much touted imports substitution assembly plants and development of a whole new city from scratch was tantamount to doing the right thing at the wrong time.
The all powerful almighty God who spoke the earth into existence, didn’t need six days to finish creation, he could undoubtedly finish creation in one day or even one second, but just as in his usual humility came to earth and was brutally crucified on the cross by mankind he created in his own image, systematically finished creation in six days.
      Why six days?
Maybe almighty God is speaking to mankind, through his holy book that because of limited resources it’s not good to start two or more major projects concurrently.
In a nutshell, had president Nkrumah first made holistic investments to attain a transition to nation wide mechanized agriculture, including construction of canals to potential farming areas for irrigation and transportation, ghana now would not be importing tomatoes and onions from Sahel countries of Burkina Faso and Niger.
Attainment of mechanized agriculture would have eventually caused several farm workers to become jobless since farm machines would replace human workers.
Then implementation of imports substitution industrialization, including development of a whole new city from scratch would be sustainable and a sound policy, since it would create new lucrative factory jobs to absorb displaced farm workers.
The rush to implement imports substitution industrialization in the absence of rural development and mechanized agriculture, merely triggered farm workers in neglected rural areas without clean drinking water, electricity etc to migrate for the newly created lucrative factory jobs in cities where all the modern amenities were concentrated.
It should be noted that the great United States of America didn’t become industrial giant overnight, the way Nkrumah had wanted ghana to be, but rather it has evolved from agriculture to industrialization and now information economy.
The great United States of America now a highly industrial country still export more food than imports, because of strong agriculture foundation while so called Nkrumah ghana a subsaharan Africa country blessed with vast fertile and arable land imports more food than export.

Nkrumah’s misplaced priorities and arrogance precipitated his ultimate downfall.
Nkrumah had no business going to Vietnam on peace mission, he should have stayed in his newly independent country of six million people and without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways to oversee, for example, the extension of the railway network, the colonial masters concentrated in the gold mining and cocoa producing areas to other parts of ghana.
And let Asia leaders find a compromise to the Vietnam problems.
While lee kuan yew of Singapore was busy laying strong foundations for future economic growth in his country and didn’t have time for the problems in Vietnam.
Nkrumah on the other hand was busy hosting and attending meetings.
That is why today, the difference between two countries that gained independence from colonial rule almost simultaneously is like day and night,in the context of economic development.

What benefits had Africa gained for having a relationship with the West? He said ghanas is meaningless if the entire continent is not liberated.....because the enemies have joined forces to destabilise the continent in 1884 in Berling and the same measure of strength is needed but some Africans were selfish and with parochial interest and were ready to obey the master.Every period of time has its own way of handling situations. Stop demonising the great leader because he knew everything he was doing and was working to liberate a suffering race, but he was not a God but only a human who saw tomorrow, but his people were myopic and greedy.
