  • Škoda claim the new motor in the 2024 Enyaq is not only more powerful but also more efficient. But how do you get the most efficiency out of it in day to day driving?

    As my advanced driving instructor once told me - drive like you’ve got no brakes.

    • @georgewalker7061
      @georgewalker7061 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Which is so easy anyway with an BEV when you can 1 pedal drive. So no need to touch a brake pedal much other than maybe once stopped.

      I have never heard that one. Good advice and they Enyaq auto regen makes it really easy to do too

      One pedal driving is much less efficient than coasting though as I mentioned in the video. @@georgewalker7061

      Indeed. But then there is location location location and it is nice trying different ways and people can get different results / efficiency.

    I have to admit I use the adaptive cruise control for about 85% of all trips. It's super efficient and easy to adjust when needed, for instance when it decides to drive at the speed limit when clearly you need to drive a bit slower. Loving our Enyaq

    Enyaq 80, two adults, two teenagers, a weeks worth of luggage and a wheelchair.
    279 miles home, 44 left in the battery (4.3m/kWh claimed).
    I was driving gently, cruise control at 65 on the motorways, but I’m still very impressed.

    I still have my Enyaq 60, it doesn't have the mode selector. It is a great car to drive with the speed limiter as well and that helps to be slightly more efficient. If I get rid of mine it will be to get another Enyaq.

    I've had an Enyaq 85 since January. My first EV purchased after a lot of research (including your excellent videos). Have done 7000km so far about half of which is motorway driving. Long term average 16.2kwh/100km. I've seen 14kwh/100km on 250km trips on 90km/h roads in spring temperatures. And like you, getting 12kwh/100km in town + B road trips. Very happy with the car, great cruiser, very quiet. Feel much less tired at the end of a 600km road trip than I did in my old Audi A3. There is so much misinformation out there about EVs and how long road trips are a nightmare. Yes, a little more planning required, but I wouldn't switch back to ICE. Skoda would do well to make some tweaks to the navigation to, for example, plan trips using my preferred charging network which is Ionity. But that is a minor gripe.

    • @jeffreyfearn5662
      @jeffreyfearn5662 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I was driving back with Google maps and the car said it had a better route and clicking OK it went to the Skoda navigation.
