I'm in the Midlands, but I've never driven a car without any heaters, especially so if there's no sun to warm the cabin, I also never wear a coat when I'm driving, it's not for me.
I've just taken delivery of my 85, I'm not going to change the cabin temps (usually 21degs C), AC turned off until needed.
One thing I immediately liked is that the range meter does adjust if I turn the heaters on, the difference was reduced by 80 miles of range (78% battery, 300miles without, 220miles with heating on). So it's immediately a more realistic measure rather than a surprise further into the journey.
It's good to know how to eek out significantly more range if you need it though (to get home without charging on the go for example) - even if it means I need to wear a coat 😂.
I thank you for that pro tip, I will put it to the test to gain an insight on what my actual results might be before I find myself needing it 👍

@@andrewedwards7880 I don't turn the heater off, I just take control of it from the computer. Down south where you are it's usually milder anyway. I left home last week and it was minus 4.arrived in Manchester and it was +7 😱

I have to admit I use the adaptive cruise control for about 85% of all trips. It's super efficient and easy to adjust when needed, for instance when it decides to drive at the speed limit when clearly you need to drive a bit slower. Loving our Enyaq

Enyaq 80, two adults, two teenagers, a weeks worth of luggage and a wheelchair.
279 miles home, 44 left in the battery (4.3m/kWh claimed).
I was driving gently, cruise control at 65 on the motorways, but I’m still very impressed.

  • @TheAccent72

I've had an Enyaq 85 since January. My first EV purchased after a lot of research (including your excellent videos). Have done 7000km so far about half of which is motorway driving. Long term average 16.2kwh/100km. I've seen 14kwh/100km on 250km trips on 90km/h roads in spring temperatures. And like you, getting 12kwh/100km in town + B road trips. Very happy with the car, great cruiser, very quiet. Feel much less tired at the end of a 600km road trip than I did in my old Audi A3. There is so much misinformation out there about EVs and how long road trips are a nightmare. Yes, a little more planning required, but I wouldn't switch back to ICE. Skoda would do well to make some tweaks to the navigation to, for example, plan trips using my preferred charging network which is Ionity. But that is a minor gripe.
