Your drone cinematography is always excellent, and I love your narration! I get so excited when I see a new subway update from you in my subscriptions.

We moved to Vancouver in 1971. The bus system was archaic and didn't cover large parts of the city very well. I recall the buses stopped running around 2 am for many years. If you missed the last bus, you taxied or walked. The Skytrains really helped to open up transit in Vancouver and with the addition of the Canada Line and the rapid buses on the major routes, it's much easier to get around. The transit has improved amazingly and it continues to get better. I can get from Boundary and Hastings to downtown on one bus in around a half hour now, it would have taken over twice that long 20 years ago. I'd say that our transit is pretty darn good considering the size of the lower mainland.

Great video, as always! Also next video about the Surrey to Langley extension, nice! As someone who lives in the area, it's been fun watching them progress on raising the power lines around Green Timbers park and expanding Fraser highway to fit the tracks in the middle. Though I haven't been east of 148th, so I'm interested to see what else they're doing

Glad you liked it! I was out in Surrey and Langley a little while back to take a look at what's going on. It was cool being out there before all the major work starts. 1 problem I ran into was the Langley city airport, I've got to jump through some hoops to be able to fly my drone out there :/ I'll have that video out hopefully in 4-5 weeks

I can see the effort that has gone in to this video, you get a sub for inspiration. I especially like your drone work, the mix of drone and ground shots and the editing is excellent.

    Great video!
Now if we could just get them to expand the Canada Line to Richmond to the size they should have made it when first built!

Great update, really great to see Translink is now able to buy and develop properties around stations.
Do you know of they're planning an entrance on the west side of the city Hall station?
I didn't think it was in the plans but you probably know not than me.

      Glad you liked the video!
For Broadway - City Hall, when the Canada line was built, there were plans for another entrance on the North West corner of Broadway and Cambie. While the space for the entrance still exists in the building that is there, there are no current plans to connect it.
From what I've read, the knock out panel in the Canada Line station has been repurposed for the connection to the millennium line.
Although once complete, a vast majority of transfers will all be internal to the station, so there's not really the need for a second entrance. But hey, it would be super convenient if there was one!

@@StainerTheFirst it would be a major failure if the many people didn't follow the plans for them to stay underground and only use Brodway City Hall as a transfer station. When hunderds of thousands crowd into and out of one entrance, there will be dangerous levels of crowding and even trampling. Then maybe after all that and a few deaths from crowding and trampling, Translink will get their shit together and smarten up to build the originally planned West entrance. it's a real shame that things would have to escalate to this point for companies to take action. Designing a major transfer station wiht just one entrance is a huge mistake!
Of course designing and constructing a second entrance taskes up more money, and Translink is doing everyhting they can to save money and is cutting corners everywhere they can that doesn't result in a safety issue.
This much is evident from the Evergreen line construction. If you look carefully at the stations, you'll see that Burquitlam, Coquitlam Central and Lincoln stations are all carbon copies of each other. Instead of following the previous design of Millenium line stations where every one was unique and made with local materials, Translink went the cheap and easy way. Just look at the difference in the roofing at Lougheed Town Centre station of the original platfrom and the new added one. The new platfrom roofing looks like a cheap shed while the orginal has a magnificent tent-like flared steel roof.
I really wonder how bad the new stations of the Broadway subway will be. What a disgrace Translink has become.
