    These videos are so well made. Thank you for putting so much time into them. Hopefully, someone at Translink sees these and gets you access to film inside. Would be great marketing for the project and of benefit to all Vancouverites!

    I'll be naming all new update videos based on when they were filmed. Goodbye seasons, hello months!

      That sounds better. I noticed that for some kinds of videos it is important to name the month and year in the title.

    Stainer, thank you for this! I want to watch it unfold, so for you to spend so much time doing this, is a true service to humanity. Volunteer hours must be stacking up.
    I hope to go into project management, and I hope to manage a transit construction project, 1 day. It would be a chance to cross off a bucket list item.

    Thanks for the amazing work on all this! I work for the City of Vancouver and perhaps may be able to facilitate getting increased access for you if that's something you're interested in. If so, let me know here and we can maybe chat further privately about it. I would have direct messaged you but apparently youtube took that option away for creators (probably a good idea to preserve sanity!).
    Cheers

    I was just thinking it was about time for a Broadway Subway update! Brilliant work as always!
    Quick question for you, I have been working on a video about the Fraser River Tunnel Project and was looking to go out and take some drone footage of the area, but I am unsure as to whether or not I can fly a drone around the Deas Island area. Seeing as you always use a drone for the majority of your footage, do you know how I can tell where I can and cannot fly a similar drone? Cheers!

    • @StainerTheFirst
      @StainerTheFirst  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glad you like my work :)
      For drone flying I use the Nav Canada drone map tool since you can select for the size of drone and type of license that you have. nrc.canada.ca/en/drone-tool/
      If you're flying a micro drone (sub 250g) you should be able to fly just fine. The DJI app will complain and you'll have to agree to terms, but as long as you follow the federal regulations you should be okay.

    Any chance the line can be partially opened before 2026 (e.g. from VCC to cambie) so we doNt have to wait for the whole line to be completed before using it?

    • @StainerTheFirst
      @StainerTheFirst  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately that won't be the case, the line will be opening as 1. But you only have to wait another 24 months!

  • @the6ig6adwolf
    @the6ig6adwolf ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Toilets being craned into or out of a pit/tower is a regular occurrence at a construction site. Imagine having to climb up 10 flights of stairs or take an hoist 40 floors down every time you needed a toilet? There would be smelly 💩 everywhere and nothing would get done.

  • @NoName-ny1bt
    @NoName-ny1bt ปีที่แล้ว

    Why is construction so painfully slow in Canada?

    • @StainerTheFirst
      @StainerTheFirst  ปีที่แล้ว

      Other countries may build faster, but we have stricter building codes and expect our systems to last 100+ years. A 5 year build time for a piece of infrastructure that will last for generations is well worth it.

    I can't take away anything from your video, which is very good, but the system itself is so mickymouse. I can't believe that a station with two lines is only going to have one entrance. There's already a space built underground on the northwest corner, so why not use it.

    • @StainerTheFirst
      @StainerTheFirst  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you like the video! I spent a good amount of time reading up about why they decided to go with only 1 entrance at Broadway City Hall. According to the research once the new line is open almost all connections will be within the station. The main entrance will only see moderate foot traffic for local buses, business, and residents around the area.
      We might see something change when the Canada line requires expansion sometime in the next 15-30 years.
