To have this skill to paint your own car and it actually look good is Gold!! No body shops in my area will re paint mine because I'm using cash and not insurance. Too old to have full coverage on so liability coverage only so can't use auto insurance,, these body shops in my area only paint cars thru auto insurance,, Pa
No, they say that because to actually do the job correctly, it would cost 10-15 k. Now if you go in to a shop and tell them you have plenty of money, they will do it but from my own experience, (I’m a body tech), the average person coming Into the shop thinks they can get a professional quality paint job on there old car for 1000$. So to prevent this, most shops just tell them they only for collision work ext…
Have you tried LMR? Just checked their site & they have 85-86 GT front bumper for $424. Out of stock right now but I have completely restored my 89 through them, they have everything you could possibly need. Click on the notify when in stock & it should be a couple weeks. Longest I waited for parts to get in stock was 2 months for steering rack.
The finished looked like they were trying to conceal it from the police after a DUI hit and run.
Half flat and half gloss makes it appear incomplete / unfinished

This makes me want a Fox right now. Rectangular Headlights, Hatch, but minus T-Tops.
Most Fox body did not have square lights.
