You are doing an fantastic job and I’m honestly looking forward to your upcoming Hood build videos! I’m glad to see that our (Hood Association) modelling improvement suggestions and paint scheme articles are proving useful (we try to be thorough and keep them up to date when new “finds” are made). If you have any questions about the articles, please do let me know and I’ll be happy to answer them. F
Thank you! I appreciate the information that the Hood Association has made available. Having access to suggestions specific to the kit I am building is fantastic.
I'm loving your series of this build ...thankyou . I know you have stated that you only concentrate on battleships but to see you do something like Nimitz would be awsome .
Thanks for the support! I do on occasion build something other than a battleship, or at least it has happened once before, and it will happen again. This week I received delivery of a not-battleship kit. It's not the Nimitz but it is an aircraft carrier and it will stay in line with the WW2 theme. The bad news is that it is probably going to be a long wait before I start building it. After HMS Hood I intend to build USS Alabama. The CV will come after that.
How so? I usually have the doors closed. If the door is closed I just file off the door and stick the PE on the surface where it used to be. If the door is to be open you can either make a hole so that you can see into the ship or you can file off the door and stick the PE in place and paint the plastic inside the door black.
I’m enjoying seeing these videos and your process. Awesome. Thanks.

Dave, I just noticed that the doors were cut out rather than filed flat. Is that something that should be done when using PE doors and windows?
