That new bike is... wow!😍 As for Rich, throw unto him the toughest challenge UK can provide! Hehehe! As for me, my challenge is to learn MTB riding skills like bunnyhoping, manualing, etc. #BeginnerBiker Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines!
I'd love to see him go on the Grand Raid in Valais, Switzerland. Verbier to Grimentz, 125km, 5025m of climbing, with the highest spot over 2700m. Part of the UCI Marathon series, so other races on that kind could be fun.
'I wish everyone could feel what my body feels like' - That's a bit wierd mate haha GCN has been trying to kill Hank for a while, now I feel like GMBN are trying to kill Rich. Keep it up!
Well done Rich. I’d never heard of this and now you’ve inspired me to do it. I took twice as long (two days) but at 65 I’m nearly twice your age. For the record I counted 111 gates to be opened and closed. If you work on your gate technique you only need to save 15 seconds per gate to break the record.
What an epic journey. The scenery is just stunning. Hats off to you Rich, for having the stamina to go through with this demanding, yet utterly beautiful route. Cheers!
Rich, sincere admiration for that. Two summers ago my son and I got lost and turned what should have been a hard but doable 32 mile ride in Moab into a 46 mile beat down. While not a 160km ride, a 46 mile fight at 10K' of elevation was horrible. 100% related when you said "I just don't have it". All of you guys are such an inspiration in your own ways.
This reminds me of racing 24hr races back in the day. To this day my longest ride ever was a 257 mile 24hr MTB race I did in California, but it would be cool to beat that in a point to point some day
Catching up on some past videos I have not seen yet. This one had me at the edge of my seat. Well done Rich. Full respect for this challenge. Very inspirational, and is a huge motivation for me to go out and push my limits taking on longer rides. Well done!!
Fair play that's some effort!!👏🏻 I live in this area and know some of the routes you did, brutal climbs and it looked warm that day.... Respect!! 😎💯🤜🏻🤛🏻
Great job Rich! Talk about killing it... then you left here to go shoot with Blake and Neil. You're nuts! Hats off to the video and edit crew as well. Very well done video. Great job documenting the adventure.
I'm enjoying Rich's videos more and more. These long distances videos are to my liking, since I enjoy long rides. Beautiful scenery, awesome shots and edits. And Rich, you're the man! Impressive feat. Good man!
That's an awesome achievement Rich 👊 That time is epic I've tried The South Downs Way in one hit but unfortunately had to stop due to a mechanical fault at 76 miles and fully under how you felt on your challenge. Great stuff #GMBN 🤘
Fantastic effort Rich, well done. I did a 100 mile coast to coast on road on a mountain bike which I thought was bad enough. What you did would of killed me. Huge respect to you pal.
Love your videos Rich, and watching this one was a joy. Thank you for crossing the pain barrier for all of us. Hats off to the guys behind the camera too. Do you think you would have been quicker on a gravel bike?
Excellent speed-through video of the TCW. I'm doing it in June and this gave me a good idea of what to expect (except I'm taking the leisurely 3-day option!)
Was in Knighton a few days ago to do the hopton xc loop absolutely incredible. Can’t believe you averaged 11 mph for almost 10 hrs. Love to do this with my 5 year old over 2 weeks but there may not be enough jumps to keep him interested 😅
Wow... what a challange... I ride total 30-40km single track a day and I am like much worse than how he was at the end, and he rode... 100miles... amazing job, great video, epic scenery as Wales never disappoints... and nice bike! Thank you guys, love these videos ;)
Man, you all Blake, Neil, Rich, everyone should be doing more videos like these, let us know how beautiful England off road is... My point is, this videos are longer and really enjoyable. Amazing!
Epic that Rich well done, you will never no how much riding 100 miles Offroad dose to you unless you have done it 😉 well done again keep up the good work.....
This was big effort. Having just completed my first multi stage MTB race - 4Islands Conquer the Rocks Croatia. It would be great if GMBN or GCN could do a feature episode on how to prepare for a multi stage MTB race. The like of one of the Epic Series races such as the Swiss Epic or other. 4-5 days.
Cracking effort, well done. Would love to hear a little more about your logistics planning in terms of fueling and hydration: what did you eat, drink, how often etc. We tried the SDW in a day and after 70miles we were cooked as we didn't eat enough. Would be good to understand how you managed.
Well done. I did 100 miles in a day on the Canberra Centenary Trail (plus a little extra to get to 100), its a challenge for sure. You could get the KOM if you were on a true XC bike.
Last weekend i did a similar trip, 106km with roughly 60km over loose terrain sand mud. At 90km i was at my limit, those last km where the hardest ever. I can’t imagine doing an other 60km after that. This weekend again.
What should Rich's next challenge be? - Do you have a riding challenge you are working on or want to do? Let us know 👇
hook up with Hans Rey for a GMBN X Wheels for Life adventure!
That new bike is... wow!😍
As for Rich, throw unto him the toughest challenge UK can provide! Hehehe!
As for me, my challenge is to learn MTB riding skills like bunnyhoping, manualing, etc. #BeginnerBiker
Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines!
South Downs Way - both ways!
I'd love to see him go on the Grand Raid in Valais, Switzerland. Verbier to Grimentz, 125km, 5025m of climbing, with the highest spot over 2700m.
Part of the UCI Marathon series, so other races on that kind could be fun.
GB divide!
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how well this has been shot and edited
agreed
carefully planned and executed 🔥
Yes indeed. The music is also superbly well arranged and placed.
Agreed
That is insane, huge respect to Rich, I can’t imagine how hard that would be. Im usually half dead after 50km XD
Some of my favorite GMBN videos recently have been "How much can we make Rich and Neil suffer?" and I'm here for it!
Lol mine too
I've done the Trans Cambrian. It was tough over 3 days. To do it in one day is a legendary effort!
Where did you sleep, did you bike the whole way back also?
Rich: carries 5 different ways to solve a puncture, doesn't carry any food on him. Respect.
😂😂😂😂 so true, there were many gels and bars in my pockets too
@@richardpayne5176 fair enough then. Solid effort dude.
Plan was not to abort mission, that's competitiveness 😁
and wears a baggy t shirt on a speed record attempt 😅
'I wish everyone could feel what my body feels like' - That's a bit wierd mate haha
GCN has been trying to kill Hank for a while, now I feel like GMBN are trying to kill Rich. Keep it up!
they need to come up with better ideas then because GCN is definitely nailing at how creative they try to kill Mr Lowsley William
Well done Rich. I’d never heard of this and now you’ve inspired me to do it. I took twice as long (two days) but at 65 I’m nearly twice your age. Taking out your own stitches and riding an epic distance completely self supported- you are super hardcore Rich!!!
Tired me out just watching this Rich, so will have to have another 40 mins on the sofa before i can do any thing else, awsome effort.
😂😂😂 me too
By the end of this challenge, Rich was well and truly F.KT! Good effort! :)
I love Rich's adventures. I can really relate to the longer distance riding, XC and Marathons. Great stuff!
Huge respect, especially after doing this route over 3 days in July. It is a brutal ride.
What an epic journey. The scenery is just stunning. Hats off to you Rich, for having the stamina to go through with this demanding, yet utterly beautiful route. Cheers!
He has such a good attitude, I love this guy
Pretty sure FKT is Matt Page at 8hrs 28 minutes, good video though and a great effort.
Yeh, a good first effort for sure. My first effort on the gravel bike was 9hrs 33min. This year 8hr, 27min, 30sec.

Mad ups for Rich! Well done, sir.
Fair play that's some effort!!👏🏻 I live in this area and know some of the routes you did, brutal climbs and it looked warm that day.... Respect!! 😎💯🤜🏻🤛🏻
Wow....Rich is a machine ! Incredible scenery as well. Thanks for sharing . Peace
Great job Rich! Talk about killing it... then you left here to go shoot with Blake and Neil. You're nuts!
Hats off to the video and edit crew as well. Very well done video. Great job documenting the adventure.
Awesome and great vid. Pretty epic that the quickest time over the loop was fully self supported as well hey!
I'm enjoying Rich's videos more and more. These long distances videos are to my liking, since I enjoy long rides. Beautiful scenery, awesome shots and edits. And Rich, you're the man! Impressive feat. Good man!
Richard, you bow to no one. Massive respect, huge effort. Great job by the rest of the crew, especially the video editing it is top notch
Amazing achievement to that nonstop. Did it with a friend a few years back over a few days and that was tough going. You’ve got my respect 👏🏼
That's an awesome achievement Rich 👊
That time is epic
I've tried The South Downs Way in one hit but unfortunately had to stop due to a mechanical fault at 76 miles and fully under how you felt on your challenge.
Great stuff #GMBN 🤘
What a champion you are Rich, that must of been so physical and mental challenging hats of to you sir.
Man that was an epic effort! You did amazing! Fantastic video and thanks for bringing us along for the ride 👏
this challenge looked insane bro!
Must have been!
Fantastic effort Rich, well done. I did a 100 mile coast to coast on road on a mountain bike which I thought was bad enough. What you did would of killed me. Huge respect to you pal.
Rich, totally brilliant. My favourite kind of video. Just completing it is a major achievement. Outstanding and a huge inspiration.
That was an epic ride and so beautiful. Phenomenal effort on your part.
The sound edit around the 13min mark is so calming.
Amazing effort Rich. Well done
I used to go up and down the Elan Valley all the time at uni. Such an awesome spot.
Amazing challenge! Would love to see another epic ride though
Great! My most hardest one day ride was 127km Elevation 1500, with a hardtail. It feels so satisfying!
Love your videos Rich, and watching this one was a joy. Thank you for crossing the pain barrier for all of us. Hats off to the guys behind the camera too. Do you think you would have been quicker on a gravel bike?
Awesome video! The challange seemed insane, Rich was really hurting at the end!
Excellent speed-through video of the TCW. I'm doing it in June and this gave me a good idea of what to expect (except I'm taking the leisurely 3-day option!)
I'm puffed out just watching you Rich. Good on you mate.
Absolutely brilliant stuff Rich you should be proud of yourself for that achievement👍🥇
Absolute respect dude 🔥 what a ride that was!!!
Well done, and big up to GMBN for providing you with camera men for a solo challenge, unlike GCN and GTN solo challenges...
Fair play Rich- top work man!
Wow, that was an epic ride man! Props to Rich for finishing the tough challenge.
A true self supported ride doesn't have a van following you with water and food.
Another excellent GMBN vid, keep it up guys
Was in Knighton a few days ago to do the hopton xc loop absolutely incredible. Can’t believe you averaged 11 mph for almost 10 hrs. Love to do this with my 5 year old over 2 weeks but there may not be enough jumps to keep him interested 😅

Amazing effort Rich! Super quick time :)
Still a fantastic achievement Rich, that looked super tough. Bike's a nice piece of kit.
Dang Rich! Much respect! Loved everything about this video, great work all around!
Man, you all Blake, Neil, Rich, everyone should be doing more videos like these, let us know how beautiful England off road is... My point is, this videos are longer and really enjoyable. Amazing!

Great ride Rich!! Maybe you try the Salzkammergut Trophy A Route for your next ride!
Wow, nice performance Rich! Well done!
Way to go, Rich! Killer effort. I'm dying to do this route - but probably over 3 days for maximum enjoyment ;)

Very impressive, well done Rich. Next challenge should be the South Downs double
Huge effort Rich!!!!!
Top respect, 👊🏻
Epic ride, must be hard on the body too, respect. I'm always done after two or three hours. Thanks for the great video.
Great stuff Rich. It would be great to do a follow up on how to recover from a ride like that. And a going over the bike after 160+km ride
I did 146 miles in two days and that killed me. Wow totally respect to you 100 miles in a day at the speed you was going. Hats off to you
Epic that Rich well done, you will never no how much riding 100 miles Offroad dose to you unless you have done it 😉 well done again keep up the good work.....

Would love to see you guys come over to the US and do a race like the Leadville 100 MTB.
Amazing effort rich , looks like a epic route 👍
Next challenge?
West highland way?
Watching this the day after riding the 160km D2R2 route. fairly similar stats 98mi, 10k climbing. I feel the pain Rich!
Excellent effort there rich.you did yourself proud and in a really good time 👍👍
Great job done Rich
hell of an effort well done
Fair play Rich, top effort!
Amazing effort, well done!
Self supported = Rich also drove the van.
Good effort on the route! Truly impressive.
What! 100miles, with a T-shirt and no Lycra??
great effort Rich! very motivating
Cracking effort, well done. Would love to hear a little more about your logistics planning in terms of fueling and hydration: what did you eat, drink, how often etc. We tried the SDW in a day and after 70miles we were cooked as we didn't eat enough. Would be good to understand how you managed.

That was sick! Congrats on your ride it was most impressive!🚴🏻♂️👍
