Thank you Warren! I really enjoyed using the pack. I wish that I could have fit all my gear and a BV500 into the CS40, I would have loved to buy and bring that pack. God Bless you too!
You're welcome! That is a good idea. I was really impressed with the water resistant factor of this pack. I used a thin plastic bag to keep my gear dry inside. I normally hike in CA and we rarely see rain. I think the pack will be going on sale this weekend for the REI labor day sale.
I want to go lighter. My current backpack is the osprey atmos ag. But I'm looking at this one, osprey lavitity and the zpack arc haul. Factors are cost and weight. What do you recommend. I even considered an Amazon ul pack
I have the Osprey Aura (women’s) AG, which weighs in at 4lbs with the brain. I also have the Arc Haul 50L, which I got because I was trying to save weight over my Osprey Aura AG. I have taken the Arc Haul on 2 trips and I really wanted to like it, but I do not. It is not very comfortable and the most annoying thing about it is that I cannot reach my water bottle pockets. I tried adding a water bottle to the chest, but it really got in my way and fell out any time I bent over or climbed over a log. I am now considering the Flash Air 50L. I just looked at one at my local REI, but am waiting until I can use my member discount. Anyone want to buy an Arc Haul? I will sell mine! It is in like new condition.
I think this pack is just under 2 pounds. I think that it will be going on sale this weekend for the REI Labor Day sale. IMO, it's totally worth the price point.

I'm also on the market. Considering Durston Kakwa, Outdoor Vitals Shadowlight or Zpacks Arc Haul. I would love the Arc but the reviews are so mixed. Leaning on Kakwa atm. Edit: I have a heavy water carry so these are shortlisted for load carrying capability rather than anything else.
Outstanding video Neal all of your points were clear and concise. God Bless

Thanks for the review! I have been eyeing this pack. I wonder if seam sealing would help with the water proofing?
