Looks like a good time
neat.
how do they taste?
can you show us a fry?
Awesome video. My family and I use to go smelting when I was in grade and junior high up by Washburn. Those were some of the best memories. Want to go do it again. Thank you for sharing keep up the great work.
Great video, lots of fun to watch.
Thanks Robert!
That was awesome!!!!!! This is on my bucket list!!!!!!!!
Cool, I never knew this, 👍🇺🇲
How fun. Stay warm in that cold water😊
Best advice ever for smelting! Bring 1 - 5 gallon bucket and only fill it 1/2 full!
I remember pulling dip nets that were so full folks would have to lower the nets to let a bunch swim just to be able to pull the nets up. It was always fun seeing the occasional trout or salmon come up in the nets... Those all went back into the drink of course..... I have 1 of the dip net frames hanging in the garage... I think of my dad (8 yrs passed) every time I walk past it!
Thanks for sharing! Smelting is on my bucket list! Dave
Where's the crowds of smelters? Mouth of brual.
Great job. I went 1 time. Got skunked. But we did get 2 washtubs full of large carp. We ground them up to make fish patties. 👍❤..
Now this was a nice video showing the options one has in our great state.
Brings back memories, I'm from Waupaca and we used to fish lake Michigan
After you're done cleaning all those, you might never look at a toothbrush the same way again
Great video, brings back memories of me and my Dad when I was younger, we went smelting in Lake Michigan in the Sheboygan area.
Always wanted to try that. My grandpa used to go when I was real little and would come home with pails full!
2 years ago we went and were pulling in 5 gallons at a time bro!! Glad you got a bunch already! It's hard to stop when they're running hard! It's tons of fun!
What a gorgeous sunset over Gitche Gumee...like Gordon Lightfoot sang, " The legend lives on"
I would give anything to have some of those during ice fishing season.
Makes me hungry. 😊😊
have you ever used smelt for ice fishing
South end of lake mich 1976 great gone by 84
any good reports over by ashland
Ashland should be going right now
That's what I was wondering. Ashland shoreline made some big changes since'16
Limit is 2 gallons. Please make sure to check regulations.
Not where we are.
