Still have mine since 2019. They are still holding up well
Glad they are still holding up.
Me to. Have ordered new batteries!
I bought these 2.5 years ago for work and my tinnitus, and ive been using them pretty much 5-8 hours every day since then.
Battery is still just as good as the day i got them (~5 hours per charge, depending if you use noise cancel or not).
Only issue I've had with them is now after 2.5 years of use, they sometimes have problem connecting with each other.
I think i might need to replace them soon sadly because they have taken quite a beating from me having spaghetti fingers and dropping then
Edit: another issue i just remembered is for some reason a couple of months ago the way the volume worked changed and now the max volume is waaaay lower then what it used to be. I usually had my phone on 40% volume to get the best comparable volume on them, now i have to use 100% volume to get decent noise, but its slightly to low for my liking, which sucks if i watch something that has lower master volume
I work as a mechanic, these work amazing. I am just now having to replace my case battery after 2/3 years. I use these daily.
Did you buy a new case or did you just change its battery?
@@fiudad I haven’t done either yet. I have been charging them as I use them. The buds will charge, the case won’t hold one however. When I get around to it, I’ll reply(if I remember) and let you know what happens.
@@Sknapps92 any updates?
I am looking at replacing my batteeies. Have rocked these for 4 years i think and feel they deserve too carry on.
@@fiudadI have done it, there's a video showing how to, changing the battery is actually surprisingly easy providing you know how to solder, get the case open to change it is the hard part
Had mine since 2019. I found a video on how to replace the batteries on them because they were starting to lose charge quickly. I did replace my batteries a few days ago with a pry tool and a small screwdriver, and they work just like new. These are an amazing set of earbuds, especially if you can extend their life a bit 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
That's awesome to hear! It's great that you found a way to extend the life of your earbuds. Replacing the batteries yourself can be tricky, but it sounds like you handled it perfectly. Kudos for taking the initiative and sharing your success.
Can you show me the link to how to change the ear bud batteries? Mine still work like new but on a full charge the earbuds only last me about an hour or so. Thanks!
After having these for about 3 years I’m finally starting to have issues with the shortcomings of these buds. If someone was looking to get these, I would recommend upgrading to the xm4s. It’s only 30-50 more and they’re more up to date with newer hardware

Dude left the case in a Uber and I’m livid. Do you know how I can get the black and rose gold case for the headphones?? 😢
Ive been using the sony wf 1000xm3 for 3 years now and they sound awesome with a costume eq has the best sound I've heard in any earpud and they hold up pretty well for 4 year old technology
4 years old? Dang it’s been that long. I remember seeing these in a Christmas/holiday guide book or whatever those things are called and wanting these
These are great I just wish the case have wireless charging
I do and they will remain in my collection to what others don’t do . The fact you can replace batteries easily which I will do is why , I gave a pair to Twin brother at first thought big not sure 🤔 likes them now
I got my set in 2019 and they've been in near daily use since. I've just love them, though I did have to replace the batteries.
Thanks for sharing.
Just purchased ❤
Enjoy
Im curious if i wanted to upgrade (as i own this model precisely), which model should i upgrade to?
You can upgrade to the 1000xm4..Thanks for sharing your thoughts, meanwhile don't forget to subscribe to our channel
I bought this as used before one year and half and they works like first day, the sounds is very strong and clear with full bass range. I also have a couple cheaper headphones and the difference is enormous. I used it every day for half hour and they last one month between charging. But it seems to me in last time that one earphone discharge little faster getting to 20% percent, while other stay on 50%, but I think there is still not time to replace batteries, and that is advantage for this model and not complicated to replace. I can add this earbuds are not very good for running or walking, they are super for sitting in chair and enjoying in music. Also this model holds price pretty well today in 2024..
It's fantastic to hear that your headphones have maintained their performance and battery life over the past year and a half. The slight discrepancy in battery discharge between the earbuds is common and not necessarily concerning, especially given the ease of battery replacement. These headphones seem perfect for stationary use, offering excellent sound quality and bass range. Plus, the fact that they've held their value well in 2024 is impressive. Enjoy your continued music enjoyment!
These are really cheap now, can still be found new, and is about a third of the original price and way cheaper than the latest model. I'm still rocking 2017 Jabra Sport Elite, which are great but only SBC (basic Bluetooth). Am thinking of getting the Sonys to complement the Jabras, Sony for indoor listening and the Jabras for outdoors exercising.
Sounds like a great idea! The Sony headphones offer excellent quality for indoor listening, while your Jabra Sport Elite will continue to serve you well for outdoor workouts. Enjoy the best of both worlds!
I've had two sets of these in the past my problem was that the right hand earbud battery level went down much quicker than the left hand one. The other really annoying thing was the blue Bluetooth lights flashing on and off in your bedroom at night when you only got a side light on. There should be a way of switching them off..
If u have switched off the option called "off when not used " it happens iam using it i won't get the light fter wearing in ears after removing it starts again blinking
you can replace new battery
@@boykwanggoals7934 I've got better buds. Cf700
@@pauledwards5573 I buy this and the problem with sony earbuds is not a long used my ear getting hurt and easy to drop unlike to my Huawei Freebuds pro even I used for long time I never experience discomfort and ear paining
Headphones are one of those areas where technology doesn't get "out of date" very quickly. Wireless earbuds had been an exception to this, but technology has really slowed down in this space.
Bluetooth 5.2 has barely any less latency than 5.0 (compared to the jumps between previous generations of bluetooth) and driver technology has been essentially static for decades now.
The only big change IMHO is the noise cancelling, which to be fair has significantly improved, but the XM3s are actually still pretty good in that department.
Noise cancellation and sound quality are still excellent. But compared to current earbuds, they are simply too bulky (buds and case), the battery life is on the low end and they have some connectivity flaws. Both earbuds sometimes don’t connect to eachother and they are a pain to connect to a phone or Ipad.
It's frustrating when such important aspects like connectivity aren't seamless, especially when compared to newer models.
i still use mine and theyve outlasted a pair of linkbuds S which developed a noise problem for no apparent reason.. the sound is good, the shape doesnt press against my ear and they dont slip when handled, they were a superior design imo
Thanks for sharing.
Got in 2020 and no issues with battery getting solid 4-6 hours and case fully charged gave me about 7 days use but use over 1 hour to 1 hour and a half means your ears ache and would need to take a break
Yeah I am disappointed unlike to my Huawei Freebuds pro I used for long time and I never felt discomfort at all
I've used these for 3 years and now the right earbud battery doesn't charge fully. I don't know if it's the charger thats faulty or the earbud. Anyways, I saw the Pixel Buds Pro was on sale and also had great reviews and bought it. Big mistake. The sound quality doesn't compare to these and now I learned BestBuy changed their policy here in Canada when it comes to returning or exchanging it if it's opened. Now I'm wondering if I should buy these or the next version that is WF-1000XM4. Definitely don't want to have the same problem as the Pixel Buds Pro.
It's a bummer to hear about the trouble with your earbuds and yes you can go for the WF-1000XM4.
I have earpods pro 2 but i like the sound signature slightly better on my 3 year old xm3
Wow is it really i got an offer to buy xm3 for 40 dollars is it worth now?
@@saashh88yes definitly
@@saashh88that’s awesome. I know the sound quality is going to blow me away
For me this is probably one of the best due for 1 particular reason, which is the ease to replace the battery. Other earbuds would only last you less than 2 years for the battery to start to decrease its charge
I would definitely recommend the new C700M really good and light and ANC.
@@pauledwards5573 can you easily open the earbuds itself and replace the battery inside?
@@GOLTEB no idea to be honest. I've got the c700n now Which are ideal

Mine is going on 4 years with the og battery. Time to replace the battery in both earbuds
They still sound amazing after using adapt sound on my samsung phone. I bought a 2nd pair. They sound louder and better than my xm4, buds 2 pro
Better than your 1000XM4?
@@Audio-Zone yes it just sounded louder and more encompassing
Xm3 and xm4 have same sound quality xm4 smaller and noise cancelling better 😂😂
@@hoangthanhcao9098 xm3 is slightly louder and sound better to my ear
The only problem that I have with them is that they are hard to stay on in your ear while working out or walking. I tried different ear tips and it did not work. Sound quality is great.
Sorry to hear that
The biggest issue with the buds is the terrible call quality in the open and while walking, they have 0 wind rejection, you can hear it when you enable ambient mode while walking or in a windy day, the mics are out in the wind. Aside from that, GREAT buds still. But I bought them for 180€ new.
But hey, if the audio experience for music and all is top-notch, at least you've got that going for you. It's always a bit of a trade-off with these gadgets, isn't it? How's the battery life holding up for you, though?
@@Audio-Zone Still fine, more or less 3 hours of music time, fine with me. Just don't use the DSEE audio enhancements
I discovered after I bought it it does not support LDAC. Should I better return it ?

Mine still sound amazing. Battery still good.
Thanks for sharing.
After buying them in december 2020 i´m having issues now using them almost everyday and left earbud goes with ANC off is getting from 100% to 70% after a few minutes. I would get them again but not new , they are more expensive now but Ebay would be a solution. I called Sony regarding this issue but i need to see what they can do and fix the problem paying for it...but it is going to be as cheap/expensive as buying them renewed from Ebay again. I don´´t know yet what to decide...i have some bt earbuds from other brands but i don´t know if they are going to be just fixed and have this issue again-
If you don't have any budget issue, why don't you go for the WF-1000XM5?
@@Audio-Zone i do have budget issues so i am not able to go for the xm5 or xm4 I would like to repair the xm3 or going for the Linkbuds S....I would like to get the xm5s but not now and i do not have any other sony bt earbuds...Those earbuds that i own are old , except the IMORE Evo.
Also, it is crazy simple to replace the batteries on these.
Thanks for your comment
This beast has crazy sound quality and noise cancelling
Do you still use it?
@@Audio-Zone yes, still works like a charm. But a minor complain is that there’s a minor discomfort because of its shape when wearing for hours long
Have mine since 2019. Only 2 months ago, the noise cancelling broke and the battery is not at its best anymore. Sound-wise, distortion at high volume is still minimal considering its age. They are the best earphones I ever had and I refuse to buy new ones
We completely understand your attachment to your earphones after so many years of faithful service. It's impressive that they've held up so well.
Just found these new for €45 at my local store
are they worth it? do they have nice bass?
