Coming from over a decade using m4/3 not sure what you girly men are complaining about the ZF being to heavy. I was expecting some brick when I pulled it out of the box 😂. This camera is pretty light.
Good honest feedback Josh. I always appreciate a fellow Canadian point of view. Waiting for my ZF to arrive. Will shoot with it a bit first to see if I pursue the grip. Compared to hauling the tank (Z9) around all day I might find it to not be an issue. I have one really strong hand grip LOL
It’s a great camera. There’s an Amazon seller for the Smallrig grip for Canadians that is likely cheaper than buying directly from SmallRig. Thats where I bought mine.
Very true about the front command dial getting crowded out, it's hard to get at when the SmallRig grip is on. I would add that having long fingers, I wish the SmallRig grip were a tad deeper, and also that it would have a notch on the inner side running along the body of the camera to accommodate my fingertips. Without such a notch, when the camera has a lightweight lens on it, such as the 40mm F2, the way the camera hangs is wrong and I cannot just dangle it off four fingers, I need to use also my thumb to vise-grip the camera, which I find tiring. With a heavier lens, such as the 24-120 mm F4, this is not an issue b/c the lens is heavy enough to angle the camera so that I can dangle it off four fingers from the grip. So my wish for SmallRig or someone else is to release a deeper grip with a long vertical notch on the inner side allowing a comfortable 4-finger dangling hold. That said, the grip, even as it is now, makes a world of difference!
The thumb pressure is definitely a thing. I think the next gen should have a little more meat on the back for thumb “grip.” Overall I love the camera, but I think the x-t series is a little more ergonomic.
Absolutely! Never had an x-t series camera (though I have and love the X70). Another feature about the grip that I really appreciate is the integrated Arca Swiss plate at the bottom, which saves me from having to add a plate!
Thanks! Definitely hoping to add to the conversation as opposed to reading the spec sheet. Not seeing a ton of real world photos out there with this camera.
Controling the speed dial cannot be done properly with the grip (I have the camera and the same grip which I've given up using altogether). The lack of substantial grip isn't there for aesthetics, rather to allow you to rest your index and thumb on the speed dial comfortably. My first camera was an fm3a so it feels ok for me. Otherwise I would have gone for the z6. I don't care so much for the aesthetics anyway.
I personally think the camera looks great, but it certainly makes me interested in the z6iii. I shoot Canon R6 for weddings but really like the direction of Nikon right now. There’s one particular thing that will tip me over to Nikon or keep me with Canon - who releases the best 50, 35, and 28 1.4 in the next two years.
@@j.sauer.photo_ Yes, it does. I'm not a pro so whenever I go taking pictures I have peace of mind and time and after several years I spent with modern ergonomics, I realise that I like having the exposure triangle in "traditional" dials. But if I were I pro I would probably miss the modern ergonomics, be it Nikon or Canon.
Please do more voiceovers and physically show us the camera… c- at best… Really low grade presentation… sorry… Critiques hurt but hopefully we learn… You need way more production value with voice overs… sorry bro not trying to be mean.. truely

Looking forward to the review, man!
How it compare with Nikon grip?

That strap lug looks like it's in a terrible place - is it in line with the shutter button?
I dislike straps, particularly straps in the lugs so it doesn't affect me specifically. If I use a strap, I attach to tripod mount.

Тебе тоже Nikon не присылал фотоаппарат для обзора?
change it to iso the front dial...use it less
I think I change aperture less, but worth an experiment.
