Kudos for you to buy a product that we all know you really didn't want just to compare to this new Austar for your viewers. Looking forward to how you improve the Austar as I ordered one after watching your first video on it. I would like to see the weight distribution on it, why it was flipping so easy. Keep up the great work.
Thanks - but not totally true, I (personally) am interested, too, of course - and the Bronco was a big (positive) surprise. Unfortunately still do not have such a weight distribution scale... should buy one.
The Traxxas should loose 20 points because of the terrible modulation! The result is painful to see… how can Traxxas propose such a bad product! It’s supposed to be a crawler, not a bouncer! Cool video though!!😎😎😎
I ordered the Austar after seeing a couple of TH-cam and your initial review... should be here soon. I was hoping for a closer contest but can't complain for the price! I have set up a FB group for this little rig to share tips and advice if anyone is interested...Austar Hobby AX-8560 Tips & Chat 👍
Stock... metal wheels, maybe remove spare wheel, and a bit of weight in front - and better shocks. Maybe remove foams... Will make a compare video soon, TRX-4M to Austar. Also big surprise for me, that the Bronco performed that well. Never would have thought this.
I know you are comparing both trucks as they come out of the box, which is fine. but im feeling the weight distribution of the Austar is significantly on top and in the rear. the bigger motor helps with having power, but throws the weight back when climbing steep hills. If everything would of been shifted 10mm more forward, the Austar would be the clear winner. I have the Austar coming and cant weight to do some very simple tweaks to it to give it the edge! I cant argue with the results of your test. it was very well done!😋
Weight in front for sure will help, removing the spare wheel too. Nice beadlock rims (tires are good), maybe a bit weight in front and better shocks...
I did already do the Lemur, but will modify it now and then make one episode "Lemur stock vs. Lemur mod."; did already order two Unimogs FCX24, will come... FCX24 Chevy will also come soon. Unfortunately MCCT is a ton of work, guess 10x more work than a simple "unboxing video"... so I will always need some time.
New sub here! Great review and comparison video. I'm new to this hobby and AX8560 might get me started. What mods would you suggest to improve the performance of the AX8560? Would mods built for the TRX4M fit? Thanks
Yes, most TRX-4M upgrades will fit. But the Austar has wider axles, so steering links for TRX-4M will not fit. Links, driveshafts, servos, ... wheels and tires will fit. First I would buy better shocks (for example Injora oil filled 53 mm shocks for TRX-4M), and then metal beadlock rims (Austar tires are quite good IMO and will fit to 1.0 rims). Then maybe metal links... If you can live with the missing crawler mode (only forward/brake/reverse) brushed upgrade of motor is not necessary IMO. If you want to go brushless, then this is another story (you will need new radio and receiver, motor, maybe even gearbox, and ESC). I would not do it because motor and modulation are really good (if only there wouldn't be this missing crawler mode and this super slow reverse). Spend 25 - 30 bucks for those shocks and maybe about 20 bucks for rims and then you are quite good.
@@donaldsneffe yeah I was thinking more weight on the wheels would be good. Shocks too. Thanks for the detailed reply. Maybe their next release will include crawler mode.
Awesome video! Would be awesome to see a custom outrunner brushless with AM32 ESC!!! Haven’t seen any on TH-cam yet… only for 1/10th scale I bet they’d fit nicely on that big Austar gearbox.
5.5 mm nut driver for rear wheels (with very thin walls, because rims are kinda strange - but fine pointed pliers will do the job, too), 5 mm nut driver for front wheels, 1.5 mm hex driver, and for some (body) parts a small PH driver.
Great video! Some shocks and no spare and that Austar might shine! I was surprised by the TRX4M, I really love that blue color. Might have to get one. Thanks for the comparison!
Seriously if the price tags are around $100 less I'll be buying this just because of the bronco body. I found a local store that sells bronco body shell and the price is much more expensive than austar 😂..
Never wanted to buy a product from this company - if the Austar wouldn't be a kind of copy (what I did not know before), I would never have bought a TRX-4M ;-)
Agreed I got one when they first came out before all the drama. It is the only Traxxas thing I own. It is a great trail/ hiking truck not a great crawler
@@charlieshankles I was completely surprised by it's performance. Knew about the bad electronics, but was totally surprised how it performed. My first product from T. in my life... and only because of the Austar ;-) Will probably keep it, have the Surpass Crawler Inrunner sensored on the way, will test it in the TRX-4M.

And the Austar because it has no crawler mode and horrible (slow) reverse ;-)
Hard to judge...

nice test! where is the top speed AX8560 and FMS scx24 or fcx18 whit 2 speed transmission?
2nd gear of FMS is way faster. AX8560 a bit faster than FMS in 1st gear.
Amazing video! I love the level of tests you put these through, great job.

I ordered the gray AX8560 after I saw your review. It should be here next week. I'm pretty excited to try it out.
This austar ax8065 or hobby plus cr18p which is the best option?
Austar is significantly cheaper, Hobby Plus CR-18P better crawler, ... hardbody vs. lexan... both are awesome.
Can't say, sorry ;-)
Are the parts interchangeable? I wouldn’t be too surprised if the gears and many other parts are directly copied?

Good day, Donald! Maybe FMS Lemur and/or new FMS Unimog for nex MCCT?

Can you give me this austar pls?
... if you stop by ;-) - Vienna, Austria
Can u please name the tools which are used to open AUSTAR wheels and rest of the parts like servo gear box axle housing etc please!

welcome to....THE MCCT
FUCK YEAH!!!
Someone's gotta bring the hype :P
The austar sounds like it has much better electronics than the Traxxas
Yes
Nice video👌💪✅️
Nice. I was wondering when you were going to get a trx-4m. Great to see how both trucks performed

Super interessant…. Hätte das so nicht erwartet… danke für den Test🎉

Only the motor for austar is a 370...
No
First! 🎉❤

Any better alternative than the austar in that price range?
No, for under 100 no
@@donaldsneffe not even something like the wpl c54?
@@vestercasper OK - but that's much larger - and way lower quality. I love WPLs, but they are not 1/18.
