Nice man. It makes me cry almost every time i listen to it. Wonder why that is. It evokes memory of certain feelings like longing or yearning.

What can you really say about this piece . Words can never do justice to a composition like this.
To understand how magnificently right they got this version, listen to version 2 from the same tour and Box set....it’s great but this song is transcendence in the flesh.
Celestial, ascending ....ever ascending...none of these musicians ever came back down to mortal levels ever after,,....certainly Pharoah and Alice were transfigured, transsubstantiated onto that spiritual Loka where John first tread.
Only John and Pharoah truly solo...Alice on piano, Rashied on drums and Garrison on bass form a heavenly choir of modal expressions.
You are on holy ground, you yourself are the One..enter nirvana and comp your ass off.
Relentless, indefatigable virtuosity of lyricism streaming like life itself from the horns of first Buddha Heavenly Sound King Trane , and then Bodhisattva Medicine Sound King Pharoah initiates you into no mind with a near 10 minute virtuosic exploration into beauty.
And then....enter the Dragon....in total command, enlightened,... finessing you through every possible sonic texture until your spirit too is lifted and soars, zen filled on a farther shore, somehow gifted by this music with the sweet peace of paradise.

My favorite song to listen to when remembering loved ones who've passed on. I imagine they're freedom existing within collective consciousness being everywhere all the time

I just looked up at the screen as this played.. in deep thought.. about peace on Earth, and lack of.. I just looked up and my eyes fell here.. Reading this gave me chills.. A week from today is four years since my Dad passed..... Not sure why but I just got some weird sense of hope.. for us all.. Much Love, Thank You

It grabs your heart and soul and takes you on a spiritual journey. Coltrane's level of expression on the saxophone is unsurpassed. That sensitivity he expressed evokes such a strong emotion reducing you to tears. And yet you feel a tremendous relief afterwards. His music is a balm. A reset.
