Doesn’t work, number 1 it’s not even showing a forgot password option (not sure why) and when I do the second option I’m not getting anything other than the same password screen. I haven’t turned on my MacBook Air in months, so I’m not sure if that means anything

Please help! I recently got my Mac book air about 6 days ago and just last night it started acting up and glitching and this thing kept popping up and disappearing that was asking for a "login keychain" I didn't know what that was at all and just kept glitching and opening and closing some apps and in general slowing down my laptop and making it lag a bit, until I shut it down and it reset on its own. Previously, when I had set up my Mac I had only put my touch ID, maybe I did put a password but I don't recall making it so I don't know what it is, I can't do touch ID since it restarted so I tried the techniques in the video to reset my password and they didn't work at all, I didn't get any reset your password option or Mac recover, I typed in the wrong password many times, at first yesturday I typed 3 wrong passwords and my Mac went into lockdown for about a minute and after another wrong one 5 minutes but today I can type in as many wrong passwords, there's no more lockdown but it's still not budging with the reset option. I tried the restart method while holding the buttons r and command and when it opened up again it was still the same screen asking for my password. I really don't know anything about computers may I ask the internet for some help please? 😭 is it possible my laptop is hacked? Also the glitches with the login Keychain first happened while I was on FaceTime with my friends, it was completely fine before that. I do have an apple ID but I'm a samsung phone user, does that have something to do with it?
Thank you. My screen, after rebooting and pressing command and r, comes up with 4 options. They are….restorefrom Time Machine, reinstall Mac OS Big Sur, safari and disk utility. Which one should I use?

Hi! Hope you still respond but when I typed in the incorrect password 3 times I didn’t get the forgot password pop-up. I only got the password hint. And once I clicked on Command+R, my screen didnt look the same. Have any ideas why?
After typing in reset password the reset screen pops up but I don't see any accts nor will it allow me to type anything in the screen. Why
what about if no access to user name(apple id) and no password ?
Check that all yours keys work ! My shift key was broken and my passwords where not accepted because of it !

I have done the recovery on macOS recovery. After adding my apple id and password it says Authentication succeeded and exit.
There is no option saying resetting new password 😞.
When I press exit macOS Utilities page comes. What should I do next ?

If you're the administrator and you forget a separate (for example your work login that you want separate from your home use), you can easily go into your login, change that username's password.
I dont have reset bottom and Cmd+R doesnt work. I failed the password 3 times and continues to ask me for my password?!

If you don’t remember your Apple ID you can you use someone else Apple ID to open the laptop

Good day, please I need your help. I updated my Mac system. After the process was completed I'm asked for a password and I can't remember having on the system prior to this time. So please how can I gain access to my system with the password. I've what you taught here it's not working. Thank you.
1. Boot MacBook in Recovery mode by holding down Command + R while restarting
2. Go to the Utilities menu and select
Terminal
3. Type in "resetpassword" and hit Enter
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset
your password
There is absolutely no box or place to reset the password on mine at all. And I knew my password I know it’s correct so idk how it’s been changed.
I got the same problem. I think it's the keyboard itself or just some stupid bug on these MacBooks. How can someone mess up a password they use like every other day.

I just bought a new MacBook Air and forgot my Lock Screen password so I tried to recover using the command R recovery process. After typing the wrong password three times, there’s no pop up window appears so I could continue the recovery process. I did this several times but no changes. The only message appears is the “Your password is required to enable Touch ID” Need your expertise. Thanks.

@danielabouttech So what if you you forget the recovery key...!? I get to reset password using the terminal but It asks me to use the recovery key, not the Apple ID 😫

I’ve tried resetting with my Apple ID and associate Password - I then get the Keychain Message > hit OK > opens box to create new MacBook Password > I enter new password > confirm new password > enter Hint
Do you then try entering New Password?
Or, do you restart and then enter new PW?
Ive done this about 50 times, both ways, but it never takes new password and always brings up Original Hint to forgotten Password.
