As a Phillies fan, I have such a deep, hidden love for the Dodgers. Never understood what appealed to me about them, it might have started when Chase Utley joined them, but this team is something special. It breathes life into the phrase “How can you not be romantic about baseball?” I don’t think I have ever liked a team that is supposed to be the “enemy” as much as I like the Dodgers. I loved Ohtani from the first moment I discovered him, but I also adore Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Yamamoto. I look forward to next year, and will be buying a ticket every time they visit the Bank. Congrats to y’all seriously

The man now has the Japan Series, World Baseball Classic title (with an incredible face off against Trout to win it), and now a World Series with the Dodgers after the most remarkable season by a DH. He is going to add NL MVP with his 2 AL MVP awards along with Silver Slugger and other individual awards. Ohtani’s season with the Dodgers will be legendary and also an indictment of the Angels and Mike Trout staying there.

When the Cardinals Stan Musial won his first World Series in 1942 he hit just .221 with 3 hits 0 homeruns. In 1951 Mickey Mantle hit .190 1 hit 0 homeruns (although injured just like Shohei but Ohthani still played with a dislocated shoulder) when Albert Pujols won his first World Series title in 2006 he batted just .200 with 3 hits in 5 games. Even tho he can understand and speak basic English, it's a tightrope to not accidently convey the wrong message and words. He also has to maintain a clean image for his endorsements. I think an interpreter (that doesnt steal) is the way to go until he is fluent in English.

I know he got injured, but overall even in Game 1, he didn't exactly perform to help his team at his best and didn't actually perform at his best❗ Although he did fight and kept fighting to be with his team and help contribute mentally to his team win❗ 👍🏻 I feel he kind of choked in the World Series. 😐 I do hope 1 day he'll be able to come back if he ever gets to the World Series and help his team to win the World Series❗ 👍🏻 ⚾

*Casuals:* B-bu-but Ohtani was carried to the Championship, let’s conveniently ignore the fact that he got injured in game 2 DURRRRR
You would think Ohtani’s clutch double, which tied it up 2-2 in the 8th in game 1 and set the stage for Freddie’s grand slam heroics, didn’t exist. Without that glorious swing, the Yankees would have practically waltzed through Game 1 without a scratch from that spirit-crushing walk-off. But sure, let’s pretend that spark for the Dodgers was totally irrelevant. Obviously, the series MVP, who spent the entire postseason hobbling around on an injured ankle, didn’t need a shred of confidence booster, right? Classic oversight!
Seriously, it seems everyone has developed amnesia regarding Ohtani's great LCS performance, where he had 1.184 OPS, .364 batting average, leading with 9 runs all while moonwalking through bases with his 17 TIMES on base. With a mind-boggling .818 with RISP, the dude basically turned baseball into an artform. He was the unsung NLCS MVP. But of course, let's pretend none of that brilliance ever happened, all because he didn't magically homer in every game with just one hand in the WS.
Not to mention Ohtani saved the team from getting swept by the Padres with his clutch 3-run homer. Without Ohtani, the Dodgers would’ve undoubtedly thrown in the towel in that game and gracefully rolled over, just as they’ve perfected in the last two years.

It will be broken english, so just rely to professional translator to avoid mishap communication. Due time he will properly communicate since he will have more interviews in dodgers than angels.

I am shocked he doesn't understand English. You would think Japanese people are known for their fortitude to speak multiple languages. After all, English is taught heavily as a second language in Japan. All the Japanese foreigners I've known in the past speak pretty good English.

This guy doesn’t deserve a World Series share or a ring, he’s a choke artist that couldn’t hit his foot if it was tied to a tree. If you’re hurt, step aside and let someone hit who can contribute. Andy pages would have at least made solid contact with the ball, Roberts made a big mistake keeping him in the lineup, he was nothing but an out. 5 ‘o clock hitter

What a BS comment. In game 1, his double turned triple basically tied the game at the bottom of the 8th inning. Without him, they would have lost game 1. Games 3-5 he played with torn labrum in his shoulder and stayed in lineup (per team's request) simply to help the team. Bravo to him!
