Through back the good old days
How has it taken me 8 years to find out they made a new Sky+HD box lol I like how they made it all black as the other design was used for a very long time. Seeing the remote in black is certainly different to what I'm use to seeing. I think my Sky+HD is from 2014 and I just use it for Free channels. Works great with just satellite. Sky has always made their remotes look really interesting and quirky design
We've owned 4 Sky boxes. Old silver one with purple remote and old nostalgic menu. White Sky+ box with white remote, then Sky+HD box. After that we had a deal where we had SkyQ for free for a certain amount of time then we sent the box back. Very recently got out the old SkyPlusHD box as our Internet in new house isn't ready and mobile data is shocking, also it's very convenient how we have a Sky satellite cable going into the living room so we might aswell enjoy some Free channels without mobile data dropping out
I've still got this box I've had mine since 2012. I bought mine outright from Sky still going after 12 and half years.

why would you waste that amount on a box
+james I use it everyday and a lot as I work nights so worth it for me as the other boxes have 500GB and half of that was reserved for on demand so 250gb for HD content soon was getting filled. And now with the addition of box sets they also download to your hard drive. So that's why it's worth it to me :)

I'm sorry your Sky Q didn't work out. Hopefully my block will allow me to get a new dish installed for my Sky Q later in the year (I'm waiting for the price to go down and 4K channels to arrive)
+adultmoshifan87 I'd enquirer about it as you need a new LMB not dish and if you go through a switch to the dish then that needs upgrading too.

How long does it take to turn on because the black/silver takes ages. Please can you do a speed test on this on which ine comes faster

THE IO PORT.......I use the IO Port to plug in my IO Adapter, to get the TV in my other room working via the Sky Mouse. You used to connect the SKY Mouse via RF, but now it’s via the IO Port, with a special IO Connector (which you can purchase from SKY, or some other electrical goods suppliers). You CANNOT use the SKY Mouse set up with SKY Q - SKY have removed this facility - so that you HAVE to purchase a Q mini box (and pay subsequent monthly rental costs). The Mouse works fine for me, as I only watch SKY in one room at a time. I’d like to move to SKY Q, but the extra monthly cost added to what I’m paying now for SKY HD is stopping me doing so. I just can’t afford an extra 12 a month (I’m a Pensioner). As it is, SKY HD is a LUXURY, not a necessity, for me.

No just on demand is needing a internet connection

sky 2 gig box is the same as the 500 gig all has changed is the look both have same workings in side you can upgrade your 500 gig to a two tb and it will work fine

you can upgrade the 500 gig to a 2 tb and works just same inside all the workings are the same
+adrian illing yeah I know i looked into it. There a lot of hassle with that though
I still use the scart to get some progs to my dvd recorder, if the shows are not on dvd.or never will be.

+james I live in flats and the communal satellite splitter does not support sky Q and the housing team won't upgrade it :(

Hey mate i have been with sky tv since 2015 i also have broadband with them and I've gotta say there tv is kind of getting abit rubbish the channel numbers have changed and it's confusing my contract says i will pay £46.80 a month but now every year they keep increasing prices so I now pay £48.50 and it's only box sets bundle how much do you pay monthly and also mate do you still enjoy it.

so you don't have sports and movies

Can someone please help me out?
I have been a BT TV customer for a long time but now I want to switch to sky. I already got a box from my friend but I have heard that these things need a viewing card. Is there a way I can purchase one? I don't need any boxes or cables or dishes, I already have everything apart from the viewing card.
Can someone direct me into the right location please?
