- The Ryde Queen has been an important part of the Isle of Wight for 80 years.
The paddle steamer was a passenger ferry and took part in the the D-day landings.
But, now her future appears to be in doubt as Neil Sackley reports.

I remember travelling on the ship as a small boy, happy memories
Many thanks ! A priceless recording, thankfully, now saved digitally.
Spent many, many happy nights in the disco 🍻🍻🍻
If only the paddle passenger ferries in Auckland were in a condition like that...
met my future wife on the boat in 1982 , great days gone
Thanks. very interesting. I posted a video of a paddle steamer. Built in 1911. This old man works in the north of Russia. Happy viewing. th-cam.com/video/i26MB-Anurk/w-d-xo.html
have you been to visit the derelict?
Always sad to see the end of anything
How is the restoration going forward? I would like to make a contribution if possible
❤😢
Wonderfull old steamer, what a shame to let it rott to pieces.....one should fix it up and convert it to a hydrogen steam boiling system (Climate neutral) as they do in Germany with steam locomotives at Meiningen steam train workshop..
Pourquoi avoir laisser mourir ce vénérable steamer et en faire un musée et surtout a t'on trouvé de l'argent pour le sauver de cette triste situation ...?
Is it still there?
Yea it is
what a shame
