My uncle is an active Green Beret since 03' team sgnt w2 weapon/drone specialist who has bounced back and fourth from 3rd group out of Ft. Bragg the most heavily deployed and successful green beret group and 7th group the combat diver qualified group out of Heurbert Field Air Force Base in Florida, I asked him the units he respected the most that he's cross trained with on continuity building international training exercises and he replied any French or Israeli unit along with British and New Zealand SAS, respect from Texas!! I'm joining up soon and gonna Earn that Green Beret myself!! 🇺🇸🤝🇫🇷

Yes, first time that a plane is hijacked by terrorists, during the operation : 0 GIGN deaths, 0 passengers deaths and all terrorists neutralised. One of the greatest counter-terrorist operation.

Actually unfortunately there were 3 passenger deaths during the incident and the rest of the passengers, the crew, and the GIGN operatives survived while the 4 GIA terrorists murdered and neutralized. Yes one of the greatest counter terrorism operation in both in Europe's history and in modern history. It's still widely discussed till this day.
However the Air France 8969 wasn't the very first plane gets hijacked, there was the hijacking of Lufthansa Flight 181 aka Operation Fire Magic that occurred 42 years ago on that fateful Thursday on October 13, 1977 to Tuesday on October 18, 1977 carried by 4 Palestinians (2 males and 2 females) called PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine). GSG9 operatives including Ulrich Wegener, the founder of GSG9 along with 2 SAS staff sergeants operatives. The captain was the only one that was murdered and GSG9 operatives successfully murdered 3 out of the 4 terrorists. The female terrorist survived. The 2 SAS staff sergeants did not participate in the raid operation they were there to assist the GSG9 operatives on how to conduct hijacking training drills. At the same time that's when stunned grenades was used in a counter terrorism operation for the very first time and as well the 9mm HK MP5 sub machine guns for CQB. 17 years before the Air France 8969 Hijacking.
Ulrich Wegener was trained by both SAS and Sayeret Matkal (which both the SAS and Sayeret Matkal were the only known established counter terrorism units in the world at the time) which inspired him to established GSG9. He also took part of the in the counter terrorist operation with Sayeret Matkal operatives during the hijacking of Air France Flight 139 aka Operation Entebbe 43 years ago on Sunday on June 4, 1976 to Sunday on July 4, 1976 carried by 2 Palestinians from Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - External Operations(PFLP-EO) and 2 Germans from Revolutionary Cells (RZ) and Ugandan soldiers under by Idi Amin. 2 hostages and one Sayeret Matkal operative murdered during the incident. but yeah all 3 of them were highly success counter terrorism operation in modern history.

@@opsvikings1714 Dans ce genre de métier il y a un dicton: "beaucoup d'appellés peu d'élus". Et beaucoup de désillusion. Commencez par vous engager en tant que gendarme. Voyez si ce métier vous convient. Et envisagez ensuite le GIGN. Faites les choses dans l'ordre.
Mais si vous êtes réellement motivé, préparez vous à fond et ne vivez que pour ça. C'est une vocation.
