I recall hearing about these guys around twenty years or so ago and couldn't stop laughing while thinking of the concept of French "Operators." Then I heard that they put on vests and shoot each other just so they can get used to the impact of being shot, so as to not let it take them down in the field because they'd be used to the shock of being shot. That shut me up.
I've heard the same story about german GSG9, can't confirm it though. If they do, i'd expext they use smaller calibers on plate, not full size rifle rounds, otherwise it's not unlikely they'd break a rib

@@victor.g7813 well the marine commandos in the special forces are equally badass if not more. Commando Hubert being the elite amongst the elite. (You need to be member of a marine commando to attempt selection and only a few succeed each year with a success rate very low) There is no equivalent to Commando Hubert and very few armies in the world can boast having a similar unit.

L'opération la plus impressionnante du gign, est celle de Marignane, peut-être parceque à l'epoque retransmis en direct, au moins 20mn, une éternité...😬
en effet, une opération qui a impressionné le monde entier par son bilan ...les principales armes utilisées par le GIGN durant cette opération, essentiellement pour limiter au maximum le risque de victimes collatérales, ont été le revolver Manurhin MR73 357 magnum (revolver de grande précision) et le fusil de précision lourd Hécate calibre 12.7mm (pour les tirs au travers du pare brise blindé de l'avion)
