I laughed so hard at the explosion at the end. Funnier knowing it blew the windows off 33 homes in the neighborhood and the production company was sued and kicked out of town xD
I always saw this movie in the horror section of my local Blockbuster/ Hollywood Video back in the day but I never picked it up, so thank you for showing me what I missed.
@@anthonyclark9441 nah it wasn't scary at all I saw myself when I wasn't scared you want to see something scary you should see Jacob's Ladder that's scary Event Horizon that's even scarier
Fantastic work, Doc. You manage to tie together a good synopsis with a blow-by-blow roasting while giving serious respect to real-world issues and sprinkle the lot with irreverent humour. 👍 another one out of the park!
The cock and balls joke was perfect. Good set up, a funny punchline punctuated by the video clip, then the call back about a minute and a half later. I actually busted out laughing. Good job, sir!
Oh my Gods! I thought my brain just made this movie up! I had distinct memories of scenes in it, but couldn't figure out where I'd seen it or what it was called. But I knew there was a 4th of July horror movie! (Well, there are probably others that I just don't know about)
This movie might be just as much cheese as it is horror but I honestly loved it so much 😂 the whole cast seem so dedicated to having a good time and any movie with Robert Forster is a watchable movie in my opinion!
I actually threw a bunch of fireworks last Monday. Seriously, it was so fun seeing it go up into the air. My family told me to be careful but I got a bit overboard with it, still it was fun.
AWESOME review, Doc. Not the best movie of Cohen or Lustig but still good. I always hated seeing the G.I. Joe Skystriker torched and Destro being runned over. Yeah the kid was definitely ... unusual. Keep up the GREAT WORK, Doc. Happy ... belated ... 4th of July.
I have a vivid memory of seeing this movie when I was 5 because my mom was super irresponsible and let her kids stay up and watch horror movies. Good old 90s
@@niansillabffsI mean if the movies ain't scaring you so bad you're having nightmares and can't sleep at night I really don't see the problem I started watching horror at like 6or7 and have been a major horror fan my whole life
i barely remember seeing this movie it’s without a doubt a direct to VHS film! it was more likely financed as a tax shelter or to Launder money for the mob! it’s very odd that the film is dedicated to Lucio Fulci (i would’ve guessed it was made in 91-94) kind of strange it was made when it was now i kind of want to get the new UHD of the film lol 👍👍👍
It's ridiculous fun, not Candyman levels of good but fun. Check it out for shits and giggles. Oh and if you haven't seen it yet, check out Dr. Giggles with Larry Drake.
@@KristenDETW Alright I might have to do that, and I am very familiar with Dr. Giggles, movie used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid cause of his well giggling but now I laugh my arse off at it. Will have to watch it again to!

The sad fact is you could make a very good satirical Fourth of July slasher. This just isn't it. The Prowler was a better "soldier kills people during celebration" movie, and that didn't even take place on an American holiday.

If you see or get a reply from someone who's profile pic is Dr. Wolfula's or some other famous TH-camr like Markiplier, GameGrumps, The Angry Video Game Nerd, or ECT..., But their names tell you to text them with some number with weird circles around it, or their name says to click on the video on their channels and they usually say the same thing where they pretend to be the person, and thank you for watching the video while also pretending that they're giving you some gift like a PS5 or some new phone, just report those comments as it's a scammer and not The TH-camr themselves, and if the actual TH-camr was giving away something they'd probably have a video talking about it with a link to the giveaway in the description to their video, Elliot Coll did a actually give away and made a video talking about it, while also telling you what to do to enter the giveaway.
1:15 Color timing has nothing to do with editing, especially in a movie shot on film and edited on film such as "Uncle Sam". You are confusing film editing with modern digital editing, where NLE systems also allow you to do color adjustments\grading, but that wasn't true on film. Actually, even with digital means, editors working on movies DON'T do any color work (especially because they usually work with proxy files). Videomakers doing everything by themselves do that. BTW: that shift in colors is unique to a very specific edition of the movie because it was likely a mistake made by whoever graded it.
When I watched James A. Janise' Kill Count of this movie, I didn't know Isaac Hayes was in this movie.
I laughed so hard at the explosion at the end. Funnier knowing it blew the windows off 33 homes in the neighborhood and the production company was sued and kicked out of town xD
That's insane. I love it
When Sam axed the history teacher, I thought he was going to say, "Dodged the draft, huh? Try doding THIS!" I was disappointed when he did not.
That would have been such a fun line to be honest
“Dodge this, draft dodger!”
How could anyone resist a 4th of July Maniac Cop?

I kind of miss Hollywood Video.
Same here, but I always noticed that it was in all the time. As in never rented.
Uncle Sam was supposed to be scary but it was just hilarious.🤣

Was it REALLY meant to be scary though?

All these years i still remember clearly seeing the string pulling the guy when he gets hit by the cannon blast.
When you said “she shot him 6 times” I was waiting for the Dr. Loomis sound clip from Halloween 2 “I shot him 6 times!!”…..still waiting 😞
Always passed this one by at the video store to rent stuff like Night of the Scarecrow, Warlock 2, and Rumplestiltskin. I mean there has to be a line.
I had no business watching this long ago, however Uncle Sam looks as terrifying as The Creeper 👀
