MGB Custom Battery Box Lid (Submarine Escape hatch) - part 1

Frustration finally got to me and I have decided to solve this issue.
The battery box on my 1977 MGB is difficult to open and close owing to the lame worn out fasteners. this new solution should make it more secure, and require no tools to open.

Very interesting design and looking forward to seeing part two for the completed assembly before trying one for my own 1980 GT which has the same original battery box and closure system
