It's incredibly funny, because in the book it's actually "The Queen" ( though she's called Queen Mary ), but they made it a king in the movie so they wouldn't "offend" the royal family, but now the Queen's dead there's a king xD I do highly recommend the book though, it's amazing!!
A PROPER gay rom com! I'm so excited. The actors give off amazing masculine energy and I think from what we can see, they have great chemistry together. I'm glad we're getting something other than a coming of age story cause that's been done so many times before. And it looks like they have an actual budget for this one!

This is a bit of a book spoiler, but I can also say the book has great representation when it comes to lube, travel size lube is mentioned more than once.

Also, if you like Nicholas Galitzine, who plays Prince Henry, you must watch Handsome Devil. It’s an Irish movie with great LBGTQ+ friendship representation.

One of the things I LOVE about the book is their emails and texts and love quotes they send to each other. They're hilarious and sweet and I want someone to write me love notes like that. I hope they kept it all in the movie.

The audiobook is absolutely fantastic. While I love the book, I've listened to the audiobook mulitiple times. The narrator is fantastic and brings the story to life. COMPLETELY worth of your airpod/earbud time! You will love it!
my favourite bit is that they cast two queer actors to play the biggest homophobes ;) also i'm sure you know, but the screenplay was adapted and it was directed by Matthew Lopez of Inheritance fame!!

Since you haven't already read the book, I would say wait to read it until after you see the movie. There are a few known key plot/character changes that have some fans of the book very upset. I accept that it's not going to be a faithful adaptation of the book simply because there's not enough time in a movie format, but I intend to go in with an open mind. I will say most of what happened in the trailer did take place in the book. I am very excited about this movie and have rewatched this trailer numerous times! 💖💖 1 month to go!!!!!
The trailer honestly has it tied for me. I absolutely love heartstopper but this is new and interesting. I don't know how I only find out about these things last minute. I found out about heartstopper a week or so before season 1 came out, now this.

The thing about this trailer is that it tells you so much of the story, but it doesn't actually tell you anything about the major drama coming in the story, and hints at some of the relationship, including showing off the first kiss. I'm extremely excited to see how this movie turns out, and though I know there will be elements of the book that I'm sad isn't going to be a part of the adaptation, I think it is definitely going to be a fun and emotional journey, and I'm already obsessed with what's been shown in the trailer. Yes, I would recommend you watch the movie first. As you said, you'll be able to enjoy it on its own merits and then you'll have the book to look forward to! The book is pretty dense, so there will be lots of extra content that won't fit in the movie anyway.

i think this film looks so fun, i also get older rom-com vibes in the best way! having read the book, i have both aspects i loved and didn't like that much from that, so i'm very interested to see this version of the story! i think it has the potential to be really good, with a perfect balance of humor and heart, and also some interesting commentary on sexuality and celebrity.
Just finished the book. WOW! Highly recommended. I can’t wait for the Netflix movie and I really hope Casey McQuiston is considering a Part 2. I’m all in if she decides to continue the story.

Idk, I feel like watching the movie first might be a better idea, because I have a feeling that they screwed up everything not related to the main couple. Like they already combined two of my favorite side characters into one in the movie, what the hell else are they gonna screw up??

The book is amazing! Read it after bc they left some characters out and they definitely use lube in the book 😉 It has some proper Romance Novel spice. Im so excited for this to come out!

Young Royals doesn't come out until next year, no matter how fast they work they need more than 2 months of post production and Sweden has 4 weeks mandatory summer holiday.
No young royals season 3 the final one is coming this month August
