I do really like the teal ish backlight color because it reminds me of the Gameboy lights electro luminescent backlight and I think that color looks so cool for a backlight color
That turned out very neat in the end mate. What I tend to do these days is reapply the film from the screen to keep my prints off until the lens is ready to go over the top. Looking forward to getting my hands on a Pocket IPS kit.
I did a similar upgrade on my GBC and had the same issue with the battery. It's something I haven't had time to look into so I'm going hunting through your videos now to see if you figured it out
Sadly no, I tried a number of possible solutions but I think it's the ribbon at fault, must be this particular batch. I know plenty of people who have installed this kit with no power issues. Also, I've had no problems with the Game Boy Color screens I've installed. There are new power regulator boards made by a guy called Angry Helder which may help you

hi man can i ask your opinion on an issue im having with my ips gameboy pocket.. ok so iv installed a Q5 ips in to my gbp everything went well no problems, i also installed a helder power managment board and the issue im getting is when i power off the game boy pocket after a few seconds the screen will flash back on for a split second and then go off again, any ideas why this is and how to stop it? have you ever had this happen? is it even supposed to happen? im assuming its something to do with the power mod. the helder board requires you to remove a capacitor and put the power board in its place and 3 solder points, and also break pin 6 on the reverse side.
I haven't experienced this, the closest example I can think of is when I added a capacitor for a sound modd on a Game Boy Color. When I switched off I got a little pop of sound, I'm assuming it's something to do with a capacitor discharging after the power is shut off. I usually avoid GBP projects, largely related to power issues
I installed it but my screen is flickering and tears the image when turning it off. Why and how can I fix it? I’ve tried pretty much everything I thought it was to fix it. Like covering the back screen panel with electrical tape, cutting the protruding pins from the game cartridge reader and covering it with electrical tape, covering the ribbon cable with it, and re soldering the power wire. Yet it didn’t work, why?
I've had battery issues with mine, I think it's a combination of the hardware being so delicate and the power draw being finely tuned to the original specs. It definitely has always felt like the most problematic game boy to mod. I hope you can get it fixed
You're telling me haha! I don't know if it was an issue with the design or the print because it is really well designed apart from the bit by the power switch.

It's a pretty cool IPS for GBP, I don't know if I should purchase that one or still waiting until retrosixuk releases their model.
I wouldn't buy a R6 one but it's always interesting to see what new things are coming out all the time!
is there a button combination for option X, Y alignment?
I'm not sure if there is. A really useful feature for things like this though. Maybe the more modern versions of this kit have it.

@@JoeBleeps So I tried it and it didn’t work. I might as well just revert it back to original. Lucky I used a repro shell and kept its original one.
