This kit also comes in a 2.45" version. Features and install are largely identical but bracket and lens will place the LCD in the center. 2.6" is larger but off center when installed with the bracket.

Soldering is very easy for me but I'm still a strong proponent of making these kits as "drop in" as possible.

Such a nice kit - I built mine yesterday and I went for the fully transparent shell. The situation with the screws is confusing. You get 3 lengths of screws. The longest ones are for the shell itself, the medium ones (there should be 4) go into the holes that align with the LCD bracket. Everything else uses the short screws.

Looks like a good kit. Was interested in either the smaller tft 2.45 one with one of those nice clear shells or a RIPS v4 with a trimmed OEM black shell for a future build. Thanks for showing it off!
Do the high quality shells require trimming for this 2.6 kit btw? Something I was unsure of, if it was already pre trimmed or if the lens area is wide enough already for the 2.6 kit.

Nah, the "high quality" shells as sold by RGRS are actually made with these screen mods in mind so they should all be "drop in". Other generic shells or OEM type shells might need the window to be enlarged slightly though.

The ips kit looks great! I got mine and the issue I’m having is when I button the shell together, the screen flickers or goes black. It looks like the ribbon is having an issue touching itself or maybe something on the motherboard.
Haven’t figured out my solution yet

I just got this, have it all together. When I fasten the shell together the D-pad doesn’t work. If I take the screws out of the shell, and rest the top half on the bottom half with everything connected, D-pad works. Any idea what I messed up? Lol

You sure your membrane is properly lined up and working? Not screwing things down too tight?

@@makho I ended up using another motherboard and it worked just fine. Thought maybe I had accidentally jacked the CPU. But I plugged it into a stock DMG front half and it worked fine. So I’m not sure exactly what I did wrong.
