  • The Turtle Ridge MTB Trail is a great XC trail that can be ridden as an out and back or as a loop. There are tight switchbacks to keep your speed down and a few small rocks if you want to spice up the ride. This trail can be ridden from Irvine, Shady Canyon, Crystal Cove, Laguna Wilderness, or anywhere else depending on your pedaling strength. Enjoy! #mtbmor

It's a great long cruise and about an hour total for the loop.

I can’t believe such a nice trail is right there in Irvine next to the 73...definitely a trail I need to ride

It's crazy how out there you can feel on these trails.

I like that you posted a less popular trail (at least, I don't hear about it often)... Looks fun. Nice work on the vid.

Thank you. There aren't too many trails around that aren't popular these days.

I've been on the xc bike and it was the first chance I got to scare myself on the big bike..LOL Glad you liked it.

Keep up the good work. I enjoy your channel since it focuses on local trails. Between your videos and looking at your Strava I'm discovering new trails and good routes. Can't believe how many times I rode past the turnoff for Flash Flood without knowing what it was. Thanks!

My pleasure and thanks for the comment. I bet we've passed each other a few times now. I've had to turn around quite a few times while hunting for trails so I'm happy to save others from the frustration.

@@MTBMOR I rode a new trail today, Lower 12 Step at SC and thought, I should tell MTB MOR about it so he can do a video on it as it needs more traffic to pack it down. I looked on Strava and you rode it 2 hours after I did...haha.

@@JoeS97756 I filmed it today and almost ended up in one of the holes they were using to get dirt from. It was a blast on the XC bike, but it would be insane on the Enduro.

@@JoeS97756 Oh I did... and the trail workers are the only ones who saw it. I was only planning to take a peek at the trail so I didn't turn on the camera......but it was too much fun so I rode the bottom. I will be adding some air to my suspension before my next ride.

Man that looks like fun! You’re one of my go to channels for trails I’m not aware of. BTW, I gave you a shoutout the other night when I was on The Segment’s podcast. ✌🏼🤟🏼

Ah to see such dry and dusty trails. UK rider here and fair to say at the moment I would possibly kill for trail conditions like that.
Subbed for the joy of dust 🤣👌

LOL I had a bike shop here tell me I was ruining my bike by crossing a stream or two during some of my rides. I can only imagine what they'd say if they saw your bike(s).

I’m gonna have to try this sometime, just to ride something different. I seen it on your Strava feed. I started to climb these switchbacks one time for extra credit after an El Moro ride. Looks a lot more fun going down.

The loop is a lot better than the out and back. There is a gated community that you have to ride around. On the way there is a single track that goes up the hill that I am yet to explore. There has to be a good way to connect this trail to the Peters Canyon Trail which would create an epic xc ride.
