Just an avid mountain biker trying to help others get to ride more. I will be posting trails and some of my tinkering. I am based out of Southern California and ride primarily in Orange County and Big Bear. I try to post honest videos so you may see me walk over some sections or put a foot down when I shouldn't. Feel free to comment and I will try and film trails you wish to see. I used to film using a Go Pro Hero 5, but lost it when I hit a tree while snowboarding. My current bikes are a Trek Slash, Giant Trance X, and a Specialized Epic, and Canyon Trail Lux. A big thanks goes out to Velofix, O'Neal, Nezium, GoPro, Odi, and Nosek and Associates.
Mountain Biking a Laguna Beach Icon 5 years in the making
Telonics is one of the best known mountain bike trails in Orange County. Names like Hans Rey and Aaron Gwin come to mind. For me it was a trail I wanted to ride clean and I finally did. Not everyone can ride Telonics. It drops in from the very top of Aliso Woods and ends up at Laguna Canyon. Telonics is rated as a black diamond to a double black diamond. The catch berms in the lower half really help the rider. Enjoy! #mtbmor #telonics Help me get to 2K subscribers: th-cam.com/users/mtbmor

New Downhill Race Vail Lake 2024
มุมมอง 6203 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Southwest Downhill Race Series concluded it's 4th and final race at Vail Lake with a new trail that did not disappoint. Unlike other races this one used the same course for all riders with no go arounds. It was soft and rocky and included a pedal section in the middle that made many riders opt for Enduro bikes. After the race awards were given to the top 3 and the series winner took home a ...

Spirals? Spiralis? It used be be no name trail but now it has a name but nobody is sure what it is. This flow jump trail will take time to master. It begins at the start gate that used to lead you to OGs. Most likely you will need an e bike to get enough laps to master it. The top of Mammoth Mountain is a great place to go. You have 360 degree views including Half Dome, Mt. Ritter, and Banner Peak. There is a museum to visit as well under the Gondola Drop Off. Instead of taking the Gondola Down, you should consider riding down the backside of the mountain on Off the Top. It's a 20-25 minute ride with very little pedaling. There are options for mountain bikers loo...

Been watching all your vids some of the best trail guides on TH-cam, you’re highly underrated ! You should check out and do a vid at Palos Verde, Portuguese Bend trail !
Thank you for the compliment. I do need to head up north ( of Orange County ) Maybe this summer...
4:48 you made the right choice. Left would have been back door. You did telonics proper. So fun congrats 🍾
Thank you. I do need to check that out too. It's just such an ordeal to get in one lap.
Yoooooo that was sick awesome fun looking. I'm sure my legs will be fried at the bottom ha
It is such a fun one. I wish it were easier to lap. Remembering where the catch berms are would allow for a bit of recklessness
Such an incredible trail!
yes it is...too bad getting to it and back is such a pain
The Leaping Lizard DH was my first ever DH race back in the mid nineties. I'm 6'7" so I was on a 22"polished heckler with an OG Z1 and BMX bars. I got 29th overall. Pros and all.
nice! I was trying to find some of the history of the trail because I thought it had to do with racing
Hell yeah !! Such a fun one !!! At the fork ( top section ) take the right next time it will leads to that double rollers. We call it the fun line. The one u took is the race line ❤❤❤❤
Nice! Thanks for the tip
Congratulations
thank you :)
Congrats ! Tried it yesterday (Sunday 8th of December 2024) for the first time and definitely the video it not giving it justice. Much harder than it looks behind the screen. Far from clearing it on my side and wondering if I would ever take the risk to try. 2 or 3 parts I consider highly difficult, especially now as the terrain is so dusty and your tires struggle to slow you down in the steepest parts. Was very surprised to see so many riders on this trail, some of them with very limited protections. The way back to the top via Canyon Acres is definitely a negative point to ride Telonics often. Unless you moved to the dark side of the force (EV bikers ;) ) or have a friend willing to do the shuttle.
I think it is one of the few trails where a shuttle makes sense. I think part of the draw is the trail and part is the isn't much traffic ( hikers/uphill riders ) on this trail on weekends.
Hey man. Nice going on cleaning the Tonics! A rite of passage at any age. 👍 and speaking of age, (I'm older than you) I probably don't have too much interest nowadays in cleaning anything more technical or "GNAR" than what trails like Telonics offer. Don't get me wrong, I like progression and want to continue to do so, but I turn into a total basket case if I'm off the bike for any extended period of time due to me being dumb and injuring myself! Ride on, man...
Risk reward... and the ratio is changing with age
great job! clearing it right now is no joke
unless you're a bad house cleaner......
Welcome back! Where have you been?
Focusing on life. It's easy to get sucked into youtube
Love that intro...How far is Canyon Acres?
I would say a mile on your left when you reach the 133.
trouble....you almost had some real trouble. Keep it coming!
I felt silly when I realized there were two catch berms at the bottom. It's amazing how much security they add. The first one has a bit of a gap/jump at the end, but you fly right through it and the second one in amazing. Still progressing...
Thank you for watching. Feel free to ask questions or leave me comments. If you have tips please share.
Another video I watched said to take all the spacers out. Yours says to install 3 or 4. What to do?
It's all about what you need. If you're bottoming out too often or not getting enough support add spacers. If the shock feels great and you aren't using all the travel remove 1 or 2. It's just another way to adjust your fork. It's easy to do so you can make a change without too much work. I hope this helps.
Indeed, thank you!
That was a blast, this trail is directly in my backyard thanks for sharing
My pleasure. We're there almost every week.
What camera are you using? It's super smooth! I need to upgrade from my Hero 5 🤣
GoPro 11, I often still use GoPro 8s as well.
Where are you in this video
Colinas Ridge. It's a lot climbing, but full of short runs
Dude love these videos!! I live right by here (condos at the bottom) and hit these trails up every week on my lunch break. I am sure one day I'll find you here.
For sure. I trimmed back some of the greenery on Edge and Ledge today
@@MTBMOR Let me know if you need help with trail work. I am down.
@@OceansideCreations awesome!
was wondering how this trail network was holding up
pretty good considering how dry its been
These are always the best youtube accounts. Consistent. And not trying to waste peoples time or grift money out of the account. Also Brett has the ELITE cardio of being able to narrate entire trails. And not sound out of breath lol (I could never)
Thank you for the compliment. Or maybe it's that I just never shut up :)
Congrats! Mooorrrrr!!!
Love it, thanks for the support
Congrats Mor!!!
Love it! Thanks for the support
Thank you again for your support. Please don't hesitate to ask questions, leave comments, or yell MOR!!!
Glad ur ok..
Thank you
I’m new to OC and have only ridden Waterworks so far. I appreciate this video.
My pleasure. Please don't hesitate to ask questions. I've made videos for most of the main trails in the area.
And the trail has been extended!! Go right after Crossfire and then Right again just before the water crossing. The up is really cool. And there's Mor! you can turn left during the up and it will take you all the way to Jardines Jungle Drop. I recommend turning left (down) on Jardines because people are flying down. There's even another jungle section near Crown Valley. Enjoy the search and thank you trail workers and builders.
I have one of those!
nice! Any tips?
I had to watch this several times to make sense of this....And I can't
LOL, it's just another bike to have fun on ...if you can
As always leave me comments and ask me questions. Would you ride a bike like this?
No way! My face would be in the handlebars as I went OTB within two seconds
SSSSIIIIIIIICCCCCKKKKK!!!!!
love it!
As always leave me comments and ask me questions. I'm here to help
Why are you speeding it up in certain areas
I wanted it to fit into the short timeframe and I wanted to show only the more exciting parts.
Hey man, good video. Assuming this picks up just past thay new ramp they built for the shuttles the last few weeks. Halfway between top of ambulance and matco? Looks fun
They dropped us off right at 4114. The race started just a bit further down the ridge.
Nice!!!
Thank you🤜
Was it’s just 4114?
No, it was a new trail. The shuttle dropped us off at 4114, then we had to pedal over to the start further down the ridge. The lower section may have been 4114. This was the first time for me going that far across the ridgeline.
@@MTBMOR hmm I’ll have to look for it. I rode 4114 after the races and thought that was the track, because they had closed down access on Friday
Thanks for watching. Feel free to ask questions and leave comments. I am to help. This was the first time I've seen the use of shuttles at Vail and I do not know if they named the trail we raced on.
I didn’t hear another comment about it being loose. Did the track get better with time?
It seemed that way. Also we were going faster and that helped
That is so cool that you also got another POV in 👏🏼
My son wore it and we used a different setting as well. Fun race and we found an old trail that was even better than the race.
im still a 13 year old 8th grader not knowing how to balance a basic bike without training wheels LoL
That's gotta be a sight to see
Wait what….Trek bikes come with lifetime frame and warranty. Your LBS screwed you over.
If that is true they really did. They were Trek dealers and the ones who sold me the bike. They had been servicing the bike for me because I bought a prepaid Velocare service plan. Then several months later, I went to a different location ( same chain ) and they would do any work because the frame was "cracked".
Nice, cant wait to check it out onced I'm all healed up.
Heal Quickly. I bet they'll have a few new runs for this winter
Love this huge network of trails. 👍 Wish I could go more often. Were you running a race or just for fun?
I still have only been for races. It's exhausting trying to figure out lines and having to pedal back up. One day I'll try the e-bike
Hope all is well with you brother. Are you safe and clear from the fires? 🙏
Thank you. We're fine, but Big Bear is a bit of a concern. Crazy week..
Nice one! you're moving
Thanks, it was too difficult to dial in the jumps in only a few runs
We don't ride when it's wet in Socal...
LOL I know...only at the races and maybe Big Bear
I've been holding onto this video for a bit. I saved it for a time where I think people will be returning to Vail. Please don't hesitate to ask questions or leave me comments.
Nice!
Thank you. I don't think we'll get in a day together up here
@@MTBMOR we could potentially, it closes in October, we will figure it out
As always ask me questions and leave me comments. I will do my best to answer them. This season we've popped two tires on pavers that were spaced away from others. The paver I hit was removed the next day.
Thanks for keeping it real. Nice run
Yup, sometimes it all goes great, but usually something screws up the flow, then sometimes it all goes to sh t
