I think it’s funny you can’t have a tint visor past the line but the factory visors come down much further and block your view 100%. Ive almost ran red lights because having my factory visor down while driving into the sun. Not with a 5% tint visor I can see the red lights and not have to flip the visor up and down constantly. Just because it’s illegal don’t mean it’s wrong and just because it is legal doesn’t mean it’s right.
I rock 5% on the front windows,1.75% on the rears and roll down the windows when near any police.When they see I'm a clean cut white guy they don't have issues.
On my GTO I have 5% on my sides and back and 20% on the whole windshield with a 5% brow never had any trouble with it have even been pulled over for speeding and didn’t get a ticket for it
I was stopped for tint. The officer seemed bothered by my medical waiver. He asked me "Does your doctor have more rights than me"?. Start recording the second you get stopped. Too many head games w police.
It really depends on the state you leave in. And also county/cities within the state. My state tint law is 35% being the limit, but in my county/city (Suburban) for example, cops don't bother you for having tints or illegal tints to be exact. You would see tons of car with tints (illegal) driving around with no issue, including myself. And that's due to my city being a little bit more upscale when it come to cost of leaving, which means the PD is a bit more lax... Which also brings me to my second point. Because the cost of leaving here is so high, folks here drive a lot of the newer luxury cars like BMWs, Lexus, Jags, Alfa R, etc. I mean, Teslas roam around here in numbers. I would say 50% of those are tinted. So, area and the type of car does play a role as well. I mean there's a clear difference between a 2017 Lexus IS with 20% tint job vs 2005 Nissan Altima with the same tint. one would have more of a factory job(Lexus) and the other would look more modded. But thing may be very different if you were leave in a more City like town like NY City, Baltimore...
depends where you are. i had tints on my truck for years and never been pulled over for it and live in NY where the fronts have to be 70% in a inspection every year and mine are blacked out
I’m a black male in Maryland you convinced me not to get window tints I have been stopped walking to my car because my battery in my key died and I had to use my key to turn the lock. I had to show him my drivers license and registration and when and wear I bought it. He even asked me if it was in my name. All this was in Salisbury. So no tints for me.
My buddy got pulled over for tint. He had a lawyer, took it to court and beat it. According to him, you can’t be pulled over solely for an infraction, only for moving violations. This was in Antioch, CA.
well it depends on ur state if ur in ny 9 times out of 10 u will be stopped now that ny has window tint part of the state inspection u cant have anything darker then 70% on any of the side windows only if its a suv or a van but on regular cars u can have as dark as u want on the rear window as long as u have both side mirrors and u can see clearly out each of them and u can have a 6" wide strip on the windshield as dark as u want
i had tint on every window got stopped twice in Delaware. the second time i got stopped both my front windows were down. But whats insane about all of this is,in the state of Delaware you can ride a motorcycle without a helment but you can't have tint on your car windows??
If your passing the same cop every morning at 30mph. Then one day you strictly go 25 when you see him. He’s gonna notice something is different. Suspicious it could be.

Going slow in any area ...doesn't make you suspicious at all....R.A.S....is needed and going slow ,pulling over is not R.A.S.
