i bought the same ones for my xt250. threw away the plastic tubes. thought they were some shipping thinkers. (face palm) obviously the guards came lose on the first lay down. thinking of getting by some aquarium tubing or something like that
Nice I put the same ones on my 97 yz250. My mounting pieces for the inner part of the guard was different, and I didn't have any problems with it. Thanks for the video!
Thanks Jay for the installation tutorial - put a pair on my ktm as not wanting to destroy the hydraulic clutch - also starting to ride more cautiously in my old age lol :)
haha, i broke the clutch in my ktm. we made a very interesting fix without welding the broken part. it was the "ear" that was broken. then i put these handguards
are those 7/8 size? i just bought some and i dont know if they are the right size. online they said they fit renthal bars and thats what i have but my handle bars are differant then yours. please help!
Unfortunately, I did not have a good camera nor a tripod. I was shooting this on my phone and couldn't hold the phone and do the install at the same time. This was one of my very first videos before I got a better setup.
Rather than cut your brake lever, why not just loosen the whole assembly slide it a little ways in on the handlebars? That way there's no need to cut either the front brake lever or the clutch lever to get clearance.
I had thought about that but it was already a wide grip for me and I didn't want to move it any further out. But yes, moving them out is another option.
Don’t get me wrong these barkbusters are good for people who don’t like spending a lot for good stuff but I had a set and I litterly laid it over and they snapped
Thanks for the comment. They actually held up really well for the entire period I had my bike. I sold it last year but it withstood quite a bit of punishment without bending or breaking. Overall, I would buy them again without hesitation.
@@RoughRidersTV oh yeah nice I wasn't very informative about my comment aha I actually layed it down on a steep hill and they hit a rock so I agree there good gaurds but I went and paid a ridiculous amount for some ego ones hope they hold up
@@jacksoutdoors4260 off road vendors see us coming a mile away. They charge insane amounts for everything. I sold my bike to by a SxS and it seems the minimum cost for even the smallest widget is $100. I'm talking something that to any normal person would be a $15.00 item at most but because it is being used for off road, it's $100.00. I get mark up and margin but man, some of the stuff we spend our money on is crazy expensive and we gladly pay it all in honor of our off road gods. LOL
Jacks outdoors I layer mine down in the backyard goofing off not going fast or anything and it bent the brake side right near where it goes into handlebar. So pissed, now I’m looking for GOOD quality, is rather spend the money. Also, I didn’t put these on, I bought the bike this way. Which is odd actually because all the other upgrades they did to it were NOT cheap.
You're talking about the rubber tubing that goes over the expander bolt thingy right? I think it's just to get a better bite on your handle bar. You could easily use any sort of rubber you have laying around. And if it's not tube shaped to slide over nicely, just electrical tape it to the nut before you slide it in and bust a nut.
The last pair of Chinese handguards I had had really thin and brittle plastic and broke by the bike falling over. I've heard they have stepped it up quality wise. Thank you for the only China hand guard review on video.
i fucked up the thorttle side because i didnt watch this video before installing them. if i crash the guard is pushing to thorttle and it will get stuck. im going to fix it tomorrow i guess 😂
Actually, they held up quite well through some tree hits and falls. I would most certainly buy them again should I get another bike. Moved on to a Yamaha YXZ now but I do miss the bike.

You didn't show the actual installation part.
Yeah, the exact thing people came here to see isn't shown in the video..argh.
He said to throw in the compression screw. Fit it and tig n it up.
Today i got the same ones but with other mounts for really cheap
Mine didn’t come with the plastic tubes but it tightened up regardless
Yeah, another set I bought didn't have them either but they are holding just fine on my new bike.
You didn’t show how to put them on

I don't recall. I bought them on ebay years ago. No longer have the bike either.

Anyone tried to install this on a cb150r? Can't seem to install it on the clutch side. Clutch cable gets in the way.
Might take some tweaking to get it to fit. Had to make some minor adjustments to get it to clear cables.
How are they holding up?

+Jay Taylor and if they break they are not expensive anyway
Jesus Christ loves you so much!!
Fine, but what does that have to do with this video?
