@@jimjam6598 agreed, Mirai is more like a classroom teacher and Bjorn is traditionally trained in Japan. I just like Peter’s “homegrown” approach and how he doesn’t complicate the process. I also watch Mirai and Bjorn regularly.
@@jimjam6598 The nice thing about Peter is that he really shows that anyone can grow decent trees, while the other ones mostly show trees of a level most of us will never achieve.
I'm a semi-newer bonsai owner, I had purchased a ficus bonsai at the beginning of last year and it had shed a bit at the beginning but, after a bit it got better and it looks a lot better than it did before.

@@andreasweber1533 In the summer would putting a clear plastic of some type on it...a bubble of sorts to create more heat to encourage aerial roots be a bad/good idea? Or how can you?
@@crodgers383 It's not about heat, but humidity. But yes, improvising a greenhouse for the tree (or even just a branch section) e.g. from a clear plastic bag should work. Just be careful that it doesn't get too hot for the plant (e.g. could happen rapidly if the sun directly strikes such a small enclosure).
i am newbie, some people and many bonsai tutor in the internet says that ficus is good for beginner. But , i did kill my first ficus, even i live in the tropical country, that so ridiculuous. But yeah , that was happened. IDK what's wrong, in the first 2 weeks, it grow well, even it produce like some kind of seeds or kind of fruits. But, eventhought i water it frequently, but the stem began to ripple, it was like you can peel the tissues of the stems and trunk, the leaves fall out crazily. and it was dead. un fortunately, even it's easy to find, but it's hard to find a ficus for a bonsai in nursery here,
@@aaryansetia9093maybe you're right, because because this is my brand new hobby and plants, then i just wanted to water it everyday. I do it because the merchant said so.. He say the plants are gonna be alright for that
@@drawingfranco7533 No no, you must give the tree atleast one day dry period. However, some species like Ficus religiosa(peepal tree) and Ficus Bengalhensis(Banyan tree) can take more than a week's dry period.I have many of the ficuses and if sometimes I forget to water these trees, they're absolutely fine! But my ficus benjamina variagated gets sunburn if in the Sun without watering even for a day.
Though I do enjoy Peter chan wouldn't his knowledge of deciduous be more value than that of a tropical tree considering he has lived in the UK for 50 years

You watered it too much then, you must let the soil stay dry for atleast 1 day before you water it again
