I have been married 24 years. I told my wife that same advice when we first got married. I now at 2 stepdaughters at that point. She wanted to do what other parents were doing and make it easier on them. These things “seem” difficult but are nothing compared to what they will face when they don’t have parents to back them up. Years later when they started their family they sent a letter thanking us for the example. ‘When the man comes, pay him’.

“You wanna big butt...” 🤣 wow Josh got deep- allowing your children to go through adversity and grow from it, not pulling them out of the hard situation. As a parent, I appreciate it.

I’m serving as a drill sergeant right now, and I definitely see what you talked about at the end every day. I’ve seen kids who want to quit 30 minutes after getting off the bus because they don’t know how to deal with stress, and people getting in their face. We’ve even had someone in their late 20’s who’s mom packed his bag for basic.

That's where the growth is, in the struggle! You don't grow where you're comfortable. Weaknesses are not bad things, but opportunities to grow!

You are describing the brilliance of old Disney. Sleeping beauty, parents protected her from Malificent. You steal the childs adaptive ability, their ability to deal with malevolence when it inevitably comes their way. Its criminal. The psychology is fascinating and horrific.

Thanks for the advice at the end. Whem I started doing Crossfit and competing, I realized that the mindset to be successful at sports or even finish certain tipes of workouts is the same as the mindset to be successful in life, work... or go through a ruff time in life: you just have to work hard, be patient, have discipline, embrasse the process and sometimes learn front the defeats. I’m a father of a 5 years old boy and a 3 years old girl, and today, one of the main reasons I work hard in the gym is to set an example for them, so they might have the chance to learn that as well. Love your vlog and would love to see you again at the games 💪🏻

Hey Josh, I found your videos and it’s motivated me to get back in the gym, as a former Army Infantryman I realized even though I’m out of the army I still need to hold myself to that higher standard we were always pushed to uphold, thank you for the motivation! Best of luck this year competing to get back to the games I’ll definitely be cheering you on!!

Embrace Failure .... Find the meaning of Failure .... Failure in action does not equal that ' You ' are a Failure ..... I wish i had this type of mind set from a mentor or parent growing up ..... Now i my early 50's i appreciate the failures as one of the greatest tools i have to use to learn from ... in all aspects .... all ......... i don't need a ' confidence booster ' ... i need wisdom to go with my perseverance... imagine the things young people could accomplish with Failure = Success as a building block in growing up .... appreciate your message man ....

Great Advice, I have a 16 month old boy, who has just been diagnosed with Moebius Syndrome, which among other challenges he will be smaller and weaker due to muscle tone issues than other kids when he starts school, and we are scared for bullying etc. But I will take your advice and use it for sure, obviously within reason. Great end of this video! Get kids (and some semi grownups as well) out of difficult situations back into comfort ánd tell them they can become whatever they want to be... That will not quite work I guess!? You have to work for what you want, sometimes hard and with some luck a little less. Keep it up with the recovery and please keep on posting.

Great advice on adversity. My 12 year-old boy is in wrestling season. He told me that he just wants to train and not participate in tournaments. I want him to participate so he can see his growth as a wrestler. What’s your advice? My son and I met you last year at a wrestling tournament in Imperial, CA.

Now this generation of weak thinkers is raising the next and the bar my freind is growing lower. Great message sir and even better.....awesome example! PAY THE MAN !!!!!!
