I chose elf for my first character but then switched over to human. Elves are just.. elves. Nexon is obsessed with giving giants more and more, its no wonder I mostly see giants

I switch from human to elf because magic and archery are my favorite talents and also love the speed. It’s definitely a weaker and annoying race but it’s what I enjoy.
Giants: Mabinogi Easy/Normal mode.
Humans: Mabinogi Easy/Normal mode.
Elves: Mabinogi Dark Souls NG+ Nuzzlocke Speedrun (literally speedy boi) Any%.
Nao: Kek. Shakespeare was every race at some point.

This pain.... I feel it in my soul to. While i do understand that giants needed their update, we elves have been left behind for years now.
Giants only got 50 updated its oke they will get more , elves are getting their BiS weapon just after 8 YEARS no big deal :joy:
@@Hacchu yea best in slot and a heavy grind to get the stuff to make them. We still need a rework on the level that giants had more magic and ranged based skills would be nice and a rework to Final shot.

It only took weeks of grinding to grandmaster in order to do so lol.
It would be nicer if they combine Ninja and Archer to create a new subclass of skills like a 'hunter' or 'stalker', and revamp elf hide ability (so that it's a generic 'hide' ability for human/elf archery) so you can use it mid combat if you pull off the correct combos to get a buff to enable it.
I wonder new update will do. Archery no longer miss anymore.

I'd be interested if they revamped Mabinogi in UE5 to give elves a bit more focused on their mobility and stealth capabilities, like elf hide actually makes them invisible to other players again... LOL.
Mirage Missile now increases damage by +1 for every 5 int and +1 for every 3 dex...
So 500 int and 300 dex is +200 damage respectively... Though enemies usually have around 100+ defenses late game, and have literal 'damage reduction' layer of defense on top on elite and higher difficulty, resulting in 90% negation by default or something... If not already immune from the natural shield passive defense...
Mirrage missle should just simply ignore defense and protection (leave the special damage reductions to still be triggered).
A better idea is to do it percentage wise so it inflict greater damage until halfway...?
It checks the current hp to max hp and inflict damage equal to a percentage, reduced by the lack of HP...
So the less HP the enemy has in % the less mirage missile does.
They can make MM do two damage, base damage, and percentage damage...
This way you can have say +200 base damage from stat increases, but in boss fights it can drain up to 2% HP each tick, on basis of 100% current HP = 2% of total hp damage...
So 50% hp left means it only does 1% damage.
10% HP left means it does only 0.20% per tick?
For elf hide, give it a dual use.
When used out of combat, you will be at walking speed and enemies will reveal you if you walk too close to them for too long. In hide you gain a ambush buff that makes the next hit ignore defense/protection stats. No cooldown if used outside of combat unless detected and revealed by a monster.
When used in combat, hide will last 6-12 seconds depending on rank, so long as combat status remains due to aggro, and a cooldown of 45-25 seconds.
When you use hide, you leave behind a illusion of yourself, of which the enemy hits for its 1 hp... This means if its an aoe attack like fireball, its still launched at the illusion where you are at.
This makes elves a viable race for Ninja skills.
Maybe a interesting new class combining Ninja and Close Combat called the Assassin?
@@dra6o0n The thing you're referring to is "current HP", so it would hit the enemy for a percentage of it's current HP.
But IMO it would make it way too overpowered xD
@@meyes1098 It checks the remaining hp each tick, meaning at 99% it will have reduced damage.
This means:
MM base damage + bonus damage + (% damage) each tick.
So if base damage and bonus damage gets reduced by def/protection, then the remaining damage ticks off as 2% or less.
It's really not that strong given that a raid boss has millions of HP and 2% is tiny and it changes phase at certain health.
It only ticks like 5 times I think...
So its 2%, and slowly goes down the more damage you do to the boss.
Especially in a raid situation.
For weak mobs in groups, you weaken em as a group but it will take a while if they all hits hard.
Remember that while you shoot and wait, the enemy isn't standing there.

I've gotten surprise Pikachu faces from at least 3 people over the past seven days in mabi when they discovered that Lillia is, in fact, an elf. There's a certain pride in continuing to main the weaker race while knowing just how much you have against you. Pride and maybe also a bit of stupidity.

Elves are currently the best race purely because Alchemic sharpshooter, and Dark Diviner are the best talents in the game. I hope to god that Elves would actually stay in the meta for a while this time.
Ngl, they just overbuffed the shit out of giants and completely neglected elves and humans. Well not so much humans but when compared to giants, yes they're neglected. They've especially neglected mages tbh in terms of enchants anyways. Humans get... 12% movement speed woohoo.... Giants get 15% fucking extra damage for no reason. Elves... yeah good luck to you guys.

I dream of a day when all elves can walk into and given dungeon and carry the giants as opposed to the way things are now. Also you for got we Don’t have access to the Lance skills even though It’s pretty obvious that the Elven equivalent of a Lance should just be a rapier which already exist in game unattached to a talent. I wonder what talent the piercing weapons should be in?

Piercing doesn't have to be talent restricted , just give elves easier acces to more pierce, we cant even 9 pierce unless destructive robe ~

My first character was an elf, the damage of a bow vs how long it takes to shoot was insane to me, and immediately laughed at the final shot description cause I could barely get a shot off normally without being knocked out. long story short, I swapped to chain blade and cylinder so I have pretty good dps and I can fuck with bosses with hide and hydra transmutaion

I’ve been looking into Mabinogi because I’m interested in playing it, and i want to pick elf for my race. Elves are my favourite fantasy race but i’m not sure if it would best be for someone just starting out
currently other races can do things better than elf can but if u enjoy it u can make it work but elf is tuff and neglected ~

I created an elf in 2013 not knowing what I was in for. This game was so wretchedly unfun that I stopped playing off and on again and only got up to level 1k by 2016. It wasn't until the very recent magic changes that I swapped to magic and could actually do anything.

The Mabinogi today is a bit better for elves, but not archery though, archer hasn't really changed that much other than aiming is now 100% accurate, your damage dealt is based on the % values instead.
You might as well use dual guns since to have reliable damage with bows means to get in a bit closer...
Yes bows/crossbows has skills that can give variety but that's mostly for weak mobs and to be flashy, and I'm not including Arcana since people kinda have to grind for that.
Alchemic Sharpshooter just came out what do you mean? Also the grind is really not that bad.

Thank god windguard got change from stationary blocking to moving and able to use fullswing. Then they give giants final strike tho once you notice it it is hard to not hate it final strike. It can't be used with things that are not "close combat weapons" while also not being allowed to use the melee weapon's attack speed or splash range/damage%s. So no lances knuckles atlatls chains shuriken scythes ghost swords rusty iron swords cooking dungeon tools mining drills gathering impliments. All of these are incompatible with the new close combat skills and giant skills :C It also shoe horns giants into peircing twohanded sword and twohanded blunt/axe ego meaning 2 rage impact egos since they are the only things compatible with the entirety of the giants kit and needed to use fullswing and final strike. Elfs do get it raw now but they are just in the same position giants used to be in now giants are strong but monotonous maybe someday elfs will be top again but just remember giants where bottom tier memes for so long.
Now remake the video with Alchemic Sharpshooter update lol

Mirage missle is useless on higher level content. Final Shot is just a meme skill that provides you not getting hit by melees by teleporting bunch of times; otherwise you wouldn't be using this skill at all. Beside Hide which you would only use WHENEVER it's up out of combat, every skills unique to Elves has are obscolete. Giants on the other hand, almost everything they have are still used and has access to one of their trans skill through Wind Guard. Human's unique skills such as Final Hit and Arrow Revolver is useful as well.
Elves really needs a buff. Just like one of the comment, givign elves access to lance in the guise of rapiers should be nice. Maybe even giving them unique magic abilities or an ability that gives them access to trans's magic missiles. Idk, elves should not be left behind in versitality.
