There have been some people oddly upset in the comments about this board and I can't understand why? It's very clearly someones passion project and they brought it to life. It also very clearly not intended for everyone, and I personally think it's more of a centrepiece than an everyday driver. You can dislike it, but please be an adult about it. It's a hobby based on preferences and with so many people in the hobby, we are all bound to like our keyboards a little bit different. Maybe this is the perfect keyboard for someone! Plus it's just a keyboard, it's not that deep. If you don't like it, you don't have to buy it! We have so many amazing projects that all differ. Not everything needs to be tailor made to you.
Not for me but very cool. We should celebrate people doing legitimately novel things in the keyboard space. Who knows whether some other creator will get inspired by this and make something you do like.
when you consider that a lot of gb extras pcbs (especially rgb ones) are around $55-$65 and extra plates tend to be $25-$40, I feel like $110 for an extra pcb+plate isn't that bad. If the pcb+plate combo includes extra (foams since they don't sell those separately either) then I think the cost is especially reasonable
wow this is awesome. being out of the rabbit hole for so long, its great to see the creativity of designers that are trying to break the same old designs into something outside the standard comfort zone. Its like we saw with the cyberboard and the leaf spring layout. Innovation at best. Also I can hear the sharpness of those boba's against those domes. Currently comparing it to the sounds of my bobas as I type this.
I think the other version have the price of 1000 bucks is because of the machining on it. The machining on the back piece is insane, and the finish looks absolutely phenomenal. Great video though!
this keyboard definitely isnt for me, but its genuinely amazing what you get for $549. today you have recycled kustom designed boards that are released in the same price range that offer very little in comparison to this keyboard in terms of originality and creativity. i know most people (including myself) in the hobby prefer a simpler design that benefits the overall sound signature, but man this keyboard really is special. a complete breath of fresh air. props to Nooir for releasing this gem and going against the norm
Compared to the Type-01 at $1000, this is a steal at $550. Edit: The people that say this board sounds bad clearly have never heard a REAL bad sounding keyboard before. It's not amazing but it's not bad at all.
I feel like U4Ts need lube. Really helps cut down the scratch. I have the Kirbal Keys franken switch version and its pretty pleasant for a tactile. Honestly, i feel like boards in the $500+ market need some kind of x-factor. For me, a brand name doesnt cut it. There are a lot of nice boards with quality machining, surface finishes, and design for $300-500. Doesnt have to be a wild design like this, but it has to have the fizz.
This keyboard is not my thing mainly because I don’t have that kind of money right now, but if I did, this would definitely buy this mainly because how unique and over engineered it is, it would easily differentiate itself among my other boards.
It looks kinda like a multipla to me- like a full board suspended in a rectangle. It looks to unrefined for me and sound isnt anything special either. Also the bouncing look feels kinda off in the video. like the whole board and not just the plate bouncing looks weird. But some people will like it, nothing quite like it on the market.
Typical box on wedge side profile.. BORRRINNG. 😏 jk jk. I love how people are still taking custom keyboards to an unreal artisanal level like this. This is why I joined keyboards in the first place
I’m sorry and definitely going to sound like a “back in my day guy” but when I first joined this hobby in 2016 it was all about getting rid of keyboard flex. Every project was focused on getting rid of flex (typically caused by low quality materials) that drove everyone to maker higher and higher quality stuff. Now the community is obsessed with this mushy crap, I just don’t get it. 🤷🏻♂️ I honestly believe the community just follows whatever is new without even thinking about it. Don’t get me wrong, this design being so out of the box deserves credit but the idea of all these boards with gaskets and plates that flex as a feature just seems absurd to me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course but for me it’s still all about a rock solid build…get out of here with flex.
Most of the designers for the more accessories boards are chinese and so are their targeted consumers. People over there like to have their keyboard to collapses as soon as they touches it so that’s why lots of them are filled with flex cut and stuffed with foam.
I personally love flex in a keyboard. I also think the level of engineering and architectural design is super unique and should absolutely be encouraged. Different people enjoy different typing experiences, and I don't think a well designed flexy keyboard takes away from the hobby in any way. It only adds to it. Enjoy what you enjoy, but don't trash the hobby or others just because of the difference. Not every keyboard out there will appeal to your specific desires, and that's okay. No need to be so upset about it...
@@zucchini2447 Think you missed the point where I said everyone was entitled to their opinion…that being said, as someone with the opinion of not liking all the flex focused designs, I’d like to see the community shift back to their roots as it directly reduces my options. (I’m allowed to be biased towards my own preferences, no?). To circle back, of course nothing wrong if that’s what you prefer, I just find it ironic that this community was born out of trying to rid these types of qualities.
@@MagFlux you say everyone is entitled to their opinion, but directly before that say that the community just follows trends and you're tired of the mushy crap. Which is directly insulting the hobby and those that partake in it. Just bc you say "everyone is entitled to their opinion" doesn't mean you actually feel that way or respect it obviously. There's plenty of non flex keyboards out there, and plenty of flex ones as well. So I think maybe you should follow your own advice, and just accept that not every keyboard that comes out is gonna be your cup of tea. No need to bash people or the hobby bc of it.
There's a big difference between crappy plastic keyboards flexing and having an actual gasket system, and I'm sorry but what even is the point of this comment, you can still buy full alu top mounts or case mounts if you want to most solid feel and don't care about sound

fun build! Awesome vid dude :)

Love this.
you can literally see the entire board bouncing while you're typing on it. That thing is INSANE
If you're gonna charge people more than $500 for a keyboard, this is how you do it.
That suspension system is diabolical [ 2:46 ]

has science gone too far
Well ...
Spider has 8 legs
This is supposed to be a bug
Not spider
Why does the coolest keyboard I’ve ever seen always get introduced to me right after I make a big purchase
Literally just swore off buying stuff I don’t need like last week so I could save up

I'm definitely buying this. It's finally something unique in a space where everything is bland plain slabs.

crazy aesthetic ngl, i love it.

It sounds amazing and looks cool af. Even without foam lol. Idk the space bar to me sounds solid.
This board with some mx blacks omg perfection.
where did you get your desk from? it looks really good!
I'm more interested in the keyboard layout. Any other keyboards with the same layout?
They went absolutely bonkers on this project!

Its bad that my first impulse is YES. Just for the sheer novelty of it.
Would love to watch another video of your setup for 2024

this is a bond villain's keyboard. love it
If Astell&Kern made a keyboard, this is what I imagine it would look like
0:00 faffing about. 17:59 sound test
I will never financially recover from this
now we need a keyboard thats suspended in liquid
Could you rate the type-plus stabilizer?pls
Better than TX?
my dream keyboard
This thing is wild
This keyboard is not my thing mainly because I don’t have that kind of money right now, but if I did, this would definitely buy this mainly because how unique and over engineered it is, it would easily differentiate itself among my other boards.
I absolutely love the spacebar. Its mighty
Same! It sounds like one on my old U80 with a PP plate. It’s a great thud
That looks like a nice display piece, but it's not for me. Looks cool and I appreciate the design behind it.
sat 75x ?
I just did the stream, the video should be out soon!
If I had the money, I would buy that. I spent $600 usd on a j-02 with a cerakote
That board looks insane, sad I didn't have time to catch the stream
Go to 17:05 for the first suspension bounces...
i will name it : "GIGACHONK"
your welcome
Love it.
Yooooo I was here and made the first call for Boneyard. I am not sorry for those who voted for Mandalorian

whoa people still diving into keyboard rabbit hole deeper huh?
The suspension cannot be that coo- OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS
It will not be long until keyboards get a brake and gas pedal 😏
For the $550 price tag it should've had RGB on the suspension mechanism too it could've been a crazy keyboard
Typical box on wedge side profile.. BORRRINNG. 😏 jk jk. I love how people are still taking custom keyboards to an unreal artisanal level like this. This is why I joined keyboards in the first place
boo
Thta flex is horrendous. Seems like a waterbed.... the design has nice features but others are not so nice Imho
it's difficult to put to words how useless and unnecessary that keyboard is 😂
what is it for???
For fun!
Looks and sounds like trash
sound not that good
That thing is ugly in every way imaginable
