Thank you for the Chernobylite review, been trying to get that Chernobyl Pripyat itch in a game for some time. Love it! Thank god my backlog is up to date
This is pretty dope, I just jumped on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 bandwagon and fell in love with it I’m already 70+ into it! My switch is one of my main systems I play on nowadays because of my work schedule so I’m excited to see this, didn’t even know it was a thing. I’m going to look more into it for sure!
I never played Chernobylite before but this game looks like something I would play. Building bases, going out gathering materials for food, weapons, etc. Yeahhh, I’ll definitely play this if given the chance to.
Long time sub mates one really interesting thing about this game was they apparently actually 3d mapped the actual locations then rendered them for the game. I remember the day z days 6 of my mates caught a party of 7 off guard took out 6 the last guy begged on coms; i made him strip to his underpants while handcuffed everyone eas laughing even him but in RP style he wouldnt lead us to their stash so i made him eat a poisoned kiwi rather than shooting him and we all went on our way…i used to snipe entire groups solo from the hospital roofs and rescue any victims then raid the tent stashes north west of Stary Novra? Always in the tree lines, definitely grabbing a digital card from the switchup store for this one ive been waiting a long time for something like this. Ty mates!
Actually I have a very distinct memory of the day the Chernobyl incident occured. I had gotten my brand new ZX Spectrum and fired it up in the living room Tv (the only Tv in the house) and loaded Ms Pacman. It was going to be the first game I ever played. The game had just loaded and before I started playing my dad came rushing from work and switched the channel to the news. Being 10, I could not understand the scope of what had happened and was so disapointed...
OMG good memories. I had similar and my first game ever was Montezuma's Revenge, I was just amazed with what's going on the screen and the fact I can control the character, it's like real time cartoon, I just couldn't believe what I see. Still remember these red/orange bricks. And I never seen any computer or arcade game before. It was in USSR and I had ZX Spectrum Soviet clone "Santaka 002"
Got a new job recently that’s been taking up all my free time and keeping me from the channel.. but this seems like a good one to come back to. Love the vibes here. Will definitely look more into it.
Throughout my gfs liver transplant operation & recovery... Our switch's have helped both of us break from reality at the roughest times. This channel always makes me smile. Always has me adding games to the backlog; And sending her games to check out ha. Honestly you know its bad my the store says you cant add to the wishlist... haha. Just wanted to thank thank you for the hard work, content & the upbeat narrating.
Seeing games like this make me happy i never gave up on my Nintendo switch. I never thought I would be playing games like this on a handheld which is the cheapest handheld in my own part of the world (Nigeria). And I am thankful to Mark and Glenn for this channel as your reviews help greatly in deciding which games to pick up when you are gaming as a 38 year old science teacher on a tight budget.
I like the look of this, I’d hate to add to my backlog but this reminds me of what I loved about fallout 4, which is probably my favorite memories in gaming 😅
My back log now has me also buying physical copies. I’ve already filed a 1TB sd card on my switch. Thank you for always introducing me to more games to add to the graveyard until I play them! Lol
I really want to get this as the only thing I was worried about was performance but the discounts aren't showing up in the Canadian eshop. Maybe the discounts will be up on launch day? I haven't had any trouble before with getting Untold Tales owner discounts in Canada.
I love survival games and this looks really interesting to me. Reminds me of Fallout and a little of Half-Life for some reason. It has that Half-Life era of first person shooter vibe to me.
I always wanted to explore the ragion around chernobyl, great that one can do so without risks. A short while back I watched the Series about the incident in the Powerplant, man what a disaster, that really wrenched my guts...
I absolutely adore Chernobylite on PC, as a massive metro fan it spoke to me. This video hit me out of left field, I never expected it to make it to switch but it looks really good!
I have never played a shooter or a survival game but I‘m super interested in this, maybe because of the setting or the nonlinear gameplay. (That being said, the little character portraits look so funny to me x‘D)
It's good to see that they a good job porting it to the Switch. I didn't know of it's existence until a few weeks ago but I'm really interested in it. I can't buy it now but hopefully I'll be able to get it later. Great video as always guys!
Actually looks really cool.. I don't have any FPS in my back log as I'm not a big fan usually, but here all the RPG elements and the whole universe is very tempting.. Thanks again for all these content you create, Merry Christmas !
I have never played stalker or this one but this seems more my speed I may have to try this out! Also thank you both, I know you hear it a lot but especially this time of year is hard for me, I’m an addict with over ten years sober but this season always takes its toll on me and your videos do wonders to help so THANK YOU!
I downloaded this and stalker simultaneously and haven't played either before. Its going to be a blast comparing them. I might need some radaway after I'm done.
Great review as always! 🎮 The in-depth analysis and clear breakdown of Chernobylite: Complete Edition really help showcase its unique atmosphere. Love how you highlight both the survival elements and the storytelling. Keep up the amazing work, SwitchUp!
Thanks for the review! Shadow of Chernobyl is one on my favorite games. Just bought the full collection for switch recently after playing multiple times on PC. Definitely will be giving this one a try. Love the theme. Thanks again
Wasn't on my radar, but this is why this channel is number 1, because now it is! Now if only it wasn't December and I wasn't skint 😭 Next time it's on sale though 👍
Played this game to death on Playstation. Quite good i must say. I always wonder why you never talk about Atom RPG which is essentially like isometric stalker meets Fallout 1 & 2 on switch. Great CRPG.
I believe they’ve mentioned Atom RPG before. I picked it up on sale because of it. I’m looking forward to playing it in 10 years or so when I get to its place in the backlog 😅
I’ve never played the Stalker games, but keep meaning too… going to add them and this to my wish list for the new year. I do love the look of this, not just another FPS but one you really need to think about. Consider the a copy bought in the new year!
This looks like it will scratch my fallout itch but with more survival elements ! Looks brilliant as a history nerd I’m all for that history mode too!! definitely picking this up once I’ve finished the dreaded Christmas shopping !
Oof, EVERY game should start with a train ride? The only title I can think of that I've played with a beginning train sequence was Resident Evil 0, so I'd prefer to steer clear of trains for a bit 😂 Great vid, fellas, I'd love to pick this one up down the road!
I’m looking forward to this one. I absolutely love the STALKER vibe. This year has been fantastic for STALkER fans and fans of the genre (if STALKER like games have graduated to a separate genre).
I've wanted to play this for so long so super happy to see it hit the switch. I'd buy it now except I've already been warned I'd be in the wife's "exclusion zone" & theres no way I could survive that kind of heat & radiation 😂
For anybody not able to check yet the discounts went live when the game did. Kinda weird that even the launch discount wasn't showing up as that's how a lot of games get early sales even before release.
I 100% agree with your quest to standardise gyro aiming as an option for any aim intensive game, especially in first person. I generally tend to favour the ease of use of console gaming, but before gyro a controller couldn’t scratch the same itch a mouse can especially in fps. Gyro everywhere !
Seems like a cool little game. I am fine with not everything having a base management aspect and miss just having FPS with stories but still looks light enough that I'm interested.
Hoping to find this one under the Christmas tree. It caught my attention a while back. Apocalypse stories of the nuclear type Have always been an Interest of mine. Seems like it's the perfect marriage of metro with fallout settlement building. As usual, Great video guys. Informative And entertaining as always. Happy holidays, Happy gaming And cheers.
The history mode sounds really cool. Chernobyl and the other nuclear disasters around the world are a macabre interest I have. With the utmost respect of course.
I have been waiting for this game for so long, I’m so excited to see it coming to switch. Gotta get through the holidays before I can pick it up. Thank you for the review!
This has been one I've wanted to try for a while, but also didn't know much about it. I just saw some screenshots, saw it was Chernobyl related like Stalker, and resembled Fallout a bit. Well, having tried it, I enjoy it, so far. I'd say it feels like a weird mix of Fallout 4, Stalker, Day Z, and oddly enough, State of Decay with how it feels to scavenge for stuff to do minor upgrades to your base. The State of Decay comparison is mostly down to the slower speed of your base upgrades. Unlike Fallout 4 where you spend 10 minutes meandering around, come back to your base, and can build it up to hell and back already. I WILL say though, it doesn't do an amazing job of explaining the Day system. I mean, I get how it generally works, but it makes it sound like you have a really specific amount of days/time to complete stuff. But googling around says that there's not actually a limit to the days, and it's just there for game mechanic purposes mainly. The crafting/building UI could also use an overhaul, it's a bit confusing trying to find what you need in the build menu.
I added this to my wishlist from seeing it in a SwitchUp Upcoming Games video recently and looks like I might be glad I did. This gives me Fallout 4 vibes which is something I can get right on board with. Cheers SwitchUp! Happy Friday 13th, looking forward to the beginning of 12 days of to SwitchUp starting when the 13th comes to your region tomorrow. 🎉😊
This looks so perfect for the switch, and exactly what I'm looking for. Just replayed ToTk, Witcher 3, stardew valley, after beating all of doom eternal on switch. And am definitely looking for something a bit more methodical, and similar to a RPG first person shooter. Definitely on my Christmas wishlist. And as always great video!
Looks like a great game to check out, strange I never heard about it in 2019 (or is the Switch port just coming out now?) Love the Stalker vibes and Fallout-esque base-building mechanics!
I like the idea of the mental toll taken from injuring people. I'd still like to hear whether setting a game around this tragedy, even if it's an alternate universe version, sits well with those from that region. I know I would feel uncomfortable about a game set at Ground Zero in New York City.
Great review! The game looks cool! An ideal survival looter shooter now that Vigor is no longer supporting Switch. Unfortunately, the owner’s discount doesn’t apply in the Australian eshop.
I didn’t know about the added “history mode,” and that seals the deal for me. Edutainment is fun again! Everything else about the game looks great, but the Chernobyl disaster is something everyone should do a little reading up on. Midnight in Chernobyl by Adam Higginbotham can be a challenging one (lots of names and titles and places to keep track of), but it’s a great fact-based narrative about how hubris, secrecy, and cutting corners can lead to potentially world-altering cataclysm.
Looks great! Too bad it does not look to have any discounts on the Canadian eshop, even when owning one of the other games in the list. Hope that gets fixed.
Got it for $16 this morning on its launch is pretty decent seeing they had to optimize it for the system. I couldn't help but buy it seeing they understand gamers.
I've been trying to hold out on buying games for the last couple months to try and finish my backlog, but you guys are always making it hard with these videos😅
I've been playing Metro Last Light & Dying Light, think this is like a good mix of both 😄 Thank U for the video, as always pretty useful information👍🏻👍🏻
This seems very interesting and intriguing, ive always seen videos visiting Chernobyl and been fascinated by urban exploration in general. Seems like a very cool game to fit that vibe

Well done!
This is one I've bought on Vbox but haven't gotten around to it yet. Tbh, I'd prefer it portable so now's my chance. Cheers for the work boys.
Fallout 4 base building vibes right here. Intriguing!

I think, better buy Stalker Trilogy games
♪♪ I got that itch. That itch on switch ♪♪
My buddy Mitch encountered a glitch with a mutant witch when he played it on Switch.
I said I wouldn’t want to add anything to the backlog but this is making me want to break that rule
Agh shit here we go again!!! Only put few hours into stalker
Same here. I thought I had a full year stocked up already on Black Friday deals and now only have enough time for 3 or 4 big new releases.

The base sounds just like playing This War of Mine, melancholic and believe it or not, much people don't know that the game has an end.

NOW THIS is my type of experience!!! I love the old Fallout games and mixing survival & HORROR ❤ in is AWESOME!! Man I need this and a Switch ❤💙
This game feels a lot like a first person "This War of Mine". I really enjoyed that one, but the psychological elements can really get you. 😢

Yep, world is not spelt like in the title!
Seems like a cool little game. I am fine with not everything having a base management aspect and miss just having FPS with stories but still looks light enough that I'm interested.
A bit like metal gear solid phantom pain, where you set up your base and recruit people etc. I like the dismal look of it!
Might have to grab this. I love games with great base building and management

Thank U for the video, as always pretty useful information👍🏻👍🏻
This looks very intresting. Love the setting since Fallout 1. Stalker was also a really great game and I played all endings out of it xD
I've been looking forward to this video for a while!! I'm very excited to play this game!!
This seems very interesting and intriguing, ive always seen videos visiting Chernobyl and been fascinated by urban exploration in general. Seems like a very cool game to fit that vibe
The more I rewatch this, the more things I find that appeal to me. Hope this gets a physical copy 🙏🏻 😊
Is there a physical available?
