This was recorded in 2012. Things are very different in China now, 11 years later.
Mr. Martin Jacques, your country, England, should imitate China and implement a one-party system and socialism with English characteristics
How about just leave China alone, let them decide what is good for them
Which them? Putting the Uighurs in concentration camps and organ harvesting them. Giving the World covid, then lying about it? Defrauding and further impoverishing much of the third world with the expensive and shoddy infrastructure, provided by the belt and road initiative. Massive surveillance of their own people, coupled with their social credit system, that means that anyone the CCP is not happy with has their future destroyed, if the do not die in prison. My!!! I could go on and on.
When you say “let them decide”, how do you imagine they do that without democracy?
@@hvglasertheir democracy is better than the democracy dominated by the rich that exists in the west
@@erozionzeall6371that country's parliament is the world's largest billionaire club. They're not at the same rank of the commoner, but obscenely wealth, a wealth acquired not by providing a desired product or service under fair competition the free market.
Leave Taiwan alone
There are no limits to political models that can exist . Even America democracy is not the same as UK democracy. So, it's meaningless to dictate what democracy is except when one is narrow minded.
China is a Democracy in the sense that a super majority of China population Strongly support their 1-party state and ACCEPT such a political model. Democracy is based on Majority DECISION. The majority in China Accept CCP strongly.
Why must democracy comprise the typical voting process? Democracy is about Majority Acceptance.
We can redefine democracy also. Language allows for ambiguity. I can also say China people Voted CCP with their hearts.
I’m just so amused why they bother about China when they could’t even take care of their own.. just shows how scared they are of China
I think he made some valid points especially the 'holier than thou' attitude of the West as we got so many things wrong ourselves! This was recorded over 10 years ago and the situation has somewhat changed both for China and the West!
Chinese people seem to like their collectivism. they should be allowed to decide how their society looks for themselves.
What, by arresting anyone who speaks out against the CCP?
How do they decide? The people or the party?
@@johnsimpson8893mind your own arrests of julian assange, edward snowden , channing etc .
@@nanyanguo1 I have not arrested anyone. Although your comparison is perfect. A pedant might see some difference between revealing thousands of state secrets and being imprisoned for speaking out against the government.
I accept however, that the west is becoming more repressive, but this is happening against our wishes.
@@johnsimpson8893 be honest , you also arrest pple who speak up . Ask alex jones , ask the many black n other activists . who were arrested past n present
@@nanyanguo1 I am being honest. I have not arrested anyone. I don't know where you get the idea that I have.

Is North Korea misreported too or is it still obnoxious?
yes a liberal democracy can work for China...TAIWAiN (Republic of China), Malaysia, Singapore is the living example. Saved you 13.54min
Singapore is not a liberal democracy as termed by the west, Malaysia is mostly muslim population with totally different culture. Taiwan is a liberal democracy with stagnating economic growth, the gap between the rich and poor widening, with rampant corruption, compared to the growth during the one party state is totally different.
This guy knows nothing about China, go read some history and you will know our financial progress was at the cost of human rights and freedom. You might think it's all worth it, but you have no idea how I would rather to have the freedom even that means I have to live a much poorer life.
seems just from a well-fed mouth
lol you are just like many others here in China, thinking that the quality of material life is above anything else, pathetic. and I'll have you know that I had to clean other's toilets for living when I was in my twenties. so well-fed innit. @@zhipengzhou6766
Go to Africa then they have liberal democracy, since you don’t mind poorer life.
You may also be on endless chaos and wars as democracy led to democrazy.
Happened in the middle east (since the democracy revolution which they called Arab Spring)
You have no right to make the decision for the whole 1.4 billions Chinese people
OLD TALK? HAVE SEEN MANY YEARS AGO.
i love how all of the videos posted by this account have 5k views at max, then the jordan peterson video where he DEMOLISHES the journalist has 3million. shows how garbage the podcast is and how he solely carried an episode by being intelligent and not falling for the tricks the interviewer tried to pull on him.
No country system are perfect, they still on developing and change accordingly to the country's situation. Now China and their population are supported the government with current system and enjoying the happy life they never achieved before . Why USA and western force China to follow their democracy system who are now so corrupt and rotten to bottom of the roots which the master was rich capitalis and intellectual controlling the country by neglected normal working citizens even three basic need cannot be guaranteed .
