I think it must have been the 1997 UK trip that led to a mention of Ian Billinghurst and raw feeding on BBC radio 4. I started dabbling adding raw bones to the kibble and watched my dog really thank me for it. I made mistakes, I bought boxes of processed pigs ears etc. Once I had the book I went all in and haven’t looked back. Years of delight and using food as medicine, weaning whelps onto bones and stopping chemical parasite control followed. Thank you Dr Billinghurst.
My GSD is an Anorchid and has terrible arthritis in his elbows due to a total lack of hormones since birth. I have been feeding him a DIY BARF diet since 8 weeks of age and he is thriving on it. But unfortunately he still suffers the arthritis in his elbows especially. I do add Omega 3, Moringa powder, Joint powder, Golden Paste etc and we do exercise, walking, hiking, nothing too crazy on the joints. Any extra things I can do for him or feed him. He is only 4 years old currently.
What about raw bones for cats or other suggestions for raw feline foods. I feed mine raw ground chicken and turkey, raw egg yolk, raw, unpasturized goat milk and fresh pureed vegetables. I get organic when possible. She's been eating this way for a 4 years since I adopted her at the age of 8 and her health has not improved. She has chronic upper respiratory disease, asthma and FeLv. Thank you.
Good to see the man behind the book , still seek out and buy every second hand copy I can find to give out to people I meet .Truly a great resource . I believed it to be out of print but happy to be corrected .
I agree...I am a Raw Newbie and...he is so right about everyone making it so hard....I have almost given up but I do not want my dog to eat kibble!!!!!! so I am so glad I found Dr. Ian Billinghurst!!!!!

“Thank you” doesn’t express my gratitude.
Thank you Dr. B! Please post more often.
