I wouldn'T say good persay, I would say the reason she has such a high winrate is low playrate. Those that are good at the game play good, win more; increasing her winrate. But what makes the difference in her winrate is those that aren't as good as diamonds/plats. For silvers golds etc. she has some of the most ideal weapons in the game:
Spear, literally the easiest weapon the grasp and get started on in the game(sword takes more skill and Lance is a different kind of easy)
Cannon, 4-5 years later nobody knows wtf cannon does, so just mash and you win

i don’t know how to use cannon but i do know how to unclog a toilet with only my index finger, a skill honed purely out of necessity

Seven was literally the last legend I needed for having every weapon at least once assigned to my legends. And her elo skyrocketed into being tied to my solo Jaeyun on ranked (High gold but I don't play the game a lot anyway).
I really do think that the spear-cannon mix is what people don't like about her, but since I enjoy both spear and cannon, it was just the perfect thing I needed this whole time.
So now I switch between Jaeyun and Seven the most, then sometimes cycle to Reno, Kor, Thea, Azoth and Loki.

i’m a relatively new player with only around 2-3 weeks of play time, although i have played a lot in that time, and i think it’s what you said, just a funky weapon combo.
i love spear, it’s one reason i went to wu shang (although i like gauntlets more), but hate cannon. cannon just feels heavy and slow, so i dislike using it.
i do have a friend that mains seven, and i’ll ask him why tomorrow so i can report back lol.
my toilet is funky it stopped flushing because the “average daily intake was far too high for the pipe infrastructure”

My theory is it's because of her weapons. Not because of the combo, but because people almost never play spear and people almost never play canon.

I was waiting for spear cannon for a long time and for me personally it’s just those stats. I wanted like a fairly speedy spear and cannon legend - a wu Shang Lin fei hybrid maybe - but she’s just got low dex and speed and it doesn’t feel fun to me personally :/ that’s why I ain’t play her much..

She is sooooo good and really fun. The only reason I don't specifically main her now is that she's a little slow for me
As a cannon main I was ecstatic about a new cannon legend and I really like her sigs but her stats are just too one sided. I play onyx and xull so I'm used to slow characters but 3 dex AND 3 speed is just too much. Shes way to slow to be played at a high level. I find myself SDing more than doing anything fun or cool. So, that's why I don't play her however she's fun to play from time to time.

I think the combo is weird spear is used commonly by faster characters most of the time and cannon inst, xull for example, so its probably just a case of people only knowing how to use half her kit effectively

mayhaps seven is just too high skill. tbh, in a sig spamming context, there are better choices for noobs, and most golds aren't all that good with cannon, nor is it played frequently (at least anecdotally). im not saying its a bad character by any stretch, just saying its probably just not got the same vibes as like mordex or onion

A reason I’m not playing seven is because I’m in school so whenever I get a chance to play I’m going to do challenges to try and complete the battle pass so I use a bunch of different characters never really get a chance for Seven
I love lots of dex and lots of speed, so despite her super tough defense and insane sigs, it’s not my type of legend

I personally just hate the weapon combination. I hate spear, yet im forced to play with it on arcadia and seven. Im waiting for Cannon greatsword or Cannon lance or Lance greatsword, and yet neither of these are coming still.
Spear just bores me. Its plain, boring, not flashy for me, attacks dont satisfy me when i land them, and its just really simple. I prefer things that have more to them, plus have the extra 'oomph' when you land your hits.
Ill stick to my lin fei dusk caspian and zariel sevens not fast at all and i cant even figure out how to use her cannon sigs properly

Honestly, I think y'all are overthinking it. What makes a legend picked is more often than not just how cool they are. Why does nobody pick Dusk? Look at his haircut.
I think Seven's design and playstyle is just too niche for people to get into where a a common character like Mordex has a style a lot of people already vibe with. (Furry)
Designers underestimate the power of roleplay value. It doesn't matter how well you do if you don't feel cool doing it. Wu Shang makes you feel cool. Like a Kung Fu master. Seven doesn't.
