- Israeli police used a water cannon on Monday night to disperse protesters that gathered in Jerusalem calling for new elections.
Protesters tried to march towards Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's house after a demonstration outside the Knesset, as they called for immediate elections and the release of the remaining hostages being held captive in Gaza.
Many Israelis, anguished over the hostages and accusing Netanyahu of putting political interests ahead of all else, want a deal to stop the fighting.
The demonstration on Monday came as Netanyahu dissolved the influential War Cabinet that was tasked with steering the war in Gaza.
